In this video, we buy a 2017 Toyota Tacoma SR5 from Copart. It is a clean title truck that was wrecked in the front and all the airbags are deployed. We do a walkaround and go over all the damage and do a quick detail to get the truck ready for the rebuild.

What a gem for a first vehicle. The damage appears to be mostly cosmetic so it shouldn't be long before it's road worthy. Parts will probably be a bit costly though. Good Luck with the Tacoma.

Nice find. Make sure to check the frame. Tacoma frames are prone to rust. You can get it coated with "fluid film" or protectant of your choice to protect it. Also Toyota has had issues with the white paint between 2016 to at least 2022. For 2023 they used a different shade of "white". Your rear window glass is manual. The TRD Sport trim and up gets the powered rear window. Again, nice find. You can't go wrong with the Tacoma. There is a reason it's the best selling mid-size truck. All the best.

If only it was 4WD, but here's an idea- put a E Locker 3rd Member in and put an auxiliary switch.

@@SwampBoysGarage Locking rear diff would definitely up your offroad game somewhat, I've done it to my 2x4 1999 Gen 4Runner Limited. Makes for sick doughnuts in the snow.

For windshields and chrome, you could use grade 0000 steel wool. You'd get the glass cleaned in seconds, just don't forget to blow it off when you're done or pieces of the steel wool will start to rust and leave pit marks on paint and chrome.

We use safety restore. I tried on the Denali but guess we were too small.

Airbags are pretty easy. Just scary when you finally hook the battery back up. We will send off the seat belt and the airbag control module

Yep. I did a full inspection two days before the auction and when the driver brought it there was no battery. Copart manager had a talk with the driver. Hopefully he will be banned from delivering vehicles
