Thank you so much for making and sharing this video with us. This is going to be very helpful to me. I have the exact same job to do on the exact same 1965 Ford 3000. This gives me more confidence to do the job. I just need to locate all the parts now. Mine is leaking out the top.
thank u very much for the video, very helpful i did the same thing as in the video and my hydraulic steering isnt working properly(i have change one sector shaft because the adjustment place was broken) i putted the sector shafts in timing i did everything, i dont know what to do anymore, i have inspected the power steering pump and replaced it with a new one and still doesnt work, what do u suggest to do please??
Tip .... The manual says to insert the central spool with it's internal (identification) groove uppermost (steering wheel side) of the control valve. (My understanding. Please verify to your own satisfaction.)
How did you get the sector shafts out? Does the inspection plate have to come off in order to slide it out? And do you have to take both the back and front off in order to get the ball screw nut out?
All I had to do was remove the steering wheel and the upper portion of the steering column to get the orbital valve out. Worst part was getting the dash and all the sheet metal out of the way.
