We one time put our auger too deep and couldn't get it out with our tractor, which isn't the most powerful. We had to call our neighbor who has a much bigger tractor to pull it out. I think you should do something to extend the gate posts up enough where there isn't a problem getting your side-by-side through it. Also, be sure your tractor will go through it, too. I always smile when I see how curious those cows are about anything you are doing.

I'm with you Chris G, that tractor bucket makes T post a WHOLE LOT easier to sink and I have driven many in with the old arm-pounding method. Yeah, if you hit a rock or root, it might get bent some but usually, they will bend back straight. It's a difference in night and day.

Check out Extreme Driver. It's a post driver that makes that makes installing posts a breeze. It's made in Virginia, and fortunately available to rent near me. In my opinion I would have left those t-posts at 8 ft. A weaning fence can't be too tall. Good luck.

Oh man I like your video's so much. Everything is interesting to me😁. You know something Mr.Tyler I never knew the work that went into have a farm and keeping it running. Many years ago I can remember my grandfather having a farm with men living off the side of the farm ( workers). My grandfather had just about 200 acres of land. I'll say this, the men were always working and my grandfather had apple trees, and vegetables all kinds of things and cows to. I'd sit outside as a young kid and watch the men work from sun up to sun down. It's a lot of work but seems so satisfying knowing how good the farm looked from being well kept. My grandfather's farm was in Hemet California and as the years went on he sold the ranch and I have good memories🙂 I'm looking forward to your next video Mr. Tyler👍🏼 🎉

Your method for the concrete will work fine. In fact, the less water you add, the better. Less water adds strength to the final product. The only concern would be the set time. How long it takes to get stiff. When building wood fences, I would use mixed concrete for the corner and gate posts only. The intermediate posts would be as per your method. Never an issue for strength. Looking forward to next week's video already. 👍

I don't know about you but I have found if you let the dry concrete only in the hole and let it draw up a tiny bit of water from the ground it just has always seemed as if the Concrete was harder. Its definitely not pretty but it holds the shit out of the post and after all its not like your going to be looking at it!! I also have found if you need to take that post out for some reason that hard Brittle Concrete that was great in the ground will break off that post easier when you pull it making it so you can reuse that $60 square tube again!

What do you mean that mixing concrete in the hole isn’t as good?🤔 I’ll bet between 85-90% of our posts in the fields, that we use for cattle, were put in that way! They’ve lasted about 27 years with very few problems. Having seen videos of you creating fence posts and gates…this project will be absolutely fine!😂

I’ve seen on other farm videos that some farmers, with a front end bucket loader on a tractor, will use the front end loader and raise it up high, then put a T-post under the bucket, and press it down into the ground. Not sure how hard of a ground you have or how much pressure the front end loader can put forcing a T-post into the ground, but will this method might work for you putting T-post into the ground, rather than manual man-power pounding it into the ground with a T-post driver 🤷‍♂️ ?!?!

Great video guy! Your puppy is noticeably growing up. He's definitely larger in size than what I recall in other recent videos, but could it be due to the angle of your camera? Also, you used the phrase "get around to it." Ha! Some years ago a co-worker of mine heard me say it and handed me a piece of paper circular in shape (round) with "2it" written on it. It was "a round to it." 🧐😜👍
