You don't want the nv3500, go nv5600. 3500 is marginal for a 2wd half ton. Find a 14 bolt with the 9.5" ring gear. Much stronger than your current 10 bolt 8.8" (bigger housing, bigger Axle shafts, bigger bearings). Looks like they salt the hell out of your roads. My 88 in Montana is rust free 😂
My dad had a custom built sled deck he built for his v8 magnum, you needed a tractor to put it on but man did it ever save our lives. Since it was a sled deck and was so top heavy, we slid down a huge hill sideways into a snowbank. I think the weight saved us from the rear end kicking out. The flat deck looks incredibly light compared to that sled deck lol
That '98 of mine Matt spoke of, had 700K Kms on the clock, spec compression on all 8 cylinders and burned a litre of oil every 5000km like the day I bought it.
It's a fact that the 90s chevy's and GMC's were good ol trucks and after owning a 90s Ford and 90s dodge truck and driving new trucks every day I've recently purchased a 92 chevy silverado because there's just enough electronics to be comfortable not complicated and not censored out ! Not good on gas but in 92 it wasn't bad . And there's all kinds of after market Goodies that a guy can get for cheaper than the other two brands I can go on and on ... Anyway love your channel
Hopefully thats a flowmaster 50 series they sound absolutely amazing on the old 5.7s. I would suggest replacing the gaskets too if those haven't been done yet, then you'll have some beautiful sound.
If ya look hard you can find a full stainless oversize y pipe from jba. I have Chinese stainless headers on mine too. Throw the supplied gaskets and buy some cheap felpros. 3" pipe builders kit with a flow master
