Now all you have to do is get rid of the cliche toxic loneliness, or as was in the case of RWBY, find a better justification. Ruby- So in terms of personality, she's like an even more childish version of RWBY!Ruby, but now instead of growing and learning as a character, her maturity "kicks in." Sounds compelling. I notice that you spend more time talking about the stages her powers will go through than talking about her personality, obstacles she has to face, possible stories for the character, motivations, etc. Her new Aesthetic makes her look blissfully stupid, and I can't help feeling that it's apropos to the new "character." Yang- Just scrap it. Throw the whole cliche bullshit in the trash, and start again. It's totaled, there's nothing worth salvaging here, your story would be better to just lose Yang entirely. Blake- Enlisting to earn majority citizenship- yeah, alright. There's potential there. Being a loner has nothing to do with being a Faunus? Ok then. Keeping a "problem" like her ears secret does seem like the sort of thing a wallflower would do. The ninja stuff's a pretty big step down from her creative weapon and fighting style in the show, but that has nothing to do with her actual character. And ohhh my god, it's a loner persecuted by society who's trying to become an assassin. You've made a school shooter. I am amused. Weiss- You said nothing about her personality. I'm going to assume it's still just Pyrrha from the show. I mean, she was a good character, but her arc was basically over when she met Jaune, why else do you think they dropped fall maiden in her lap, then killed her off? "I am extremely lazy at character writing." Do tell. Taiyang- Well I mean, he's a cliche, but he's not going to be involved enough in the story to matter... right? Qrow- No changes. Lazy, but ok. Raven- ...Also no changes. Meh. Penny- Just remove her. She's irrelevant to the story, and her being an android raised interesting questions about humanity, sapience, and technology in the world of RWBY. Making her a history otaku pretty much just gives you an excuse to tell, not show, about the world you've built, and I get the impression you'll be doing that plenty enough without her. Maria- Same thing. Just get rid of her. RWBY introduced the character to give us the silver eyes lore, and she's an entertainingly crazy old bat besides. I get the impression that you're just going to use her for more telling, not showing, albeit by proxy, getting Ruby to ask someone else by speaking "in riddles." Torchwick- No changes, except now he's picky about food, I guess because his hair reminds you of Sanji? Neo- Ms. Pauling from TF2. Ehh... I kinda prefer Neo from the show. She's so very eloquent. Ozpin- a professor who abuses his tenure to have fun and criticize things. Never seen that before. Ironwood- So basically Iroh without the dead son? I have a bad feeling he's also going to be a mouthpiece for your worldbuilding, because military guys are well-travelled. Adam- A downgrade from pre-season 3 Adam, and his post season 3 counterpart Ilia. (They did fuck up his character royally. It would've made more sense to have him follow Ilia's path, and bring Ilia in as the jilted psychotic niceguy ex.) Winter- YES. MORE PLEASE. In fact, can we PLEASE just scrap all of your other ideas, and make the story about Winter Schnee's machiavellian coup? If we must include the other characters, can you rework EVERYTHING but Winter? She's the only one that sounds remotely interesting.

Torchwick should be a mob boss that devellops overtime and isnt killed off in Vol 3. That aside, I liked what they did with dust and grimm that should´ve been canon from the get go, the idea that you kill a grimm and get nothing from it even when they eat dust, it´s just dumb!
Seeing the character designs definitely confirmed to me that this is an Alternate Universe rather than a true rewrite. A VERY detailed AU but an AU nonetheless. This is much closer to something like Valkyria Chronicles than the actual RWBY former, which is pretty damn amazing but not exactly the RWBY Rewrite I was hoping for. As someone mentioned in the first video, part of the appeal of RWBY former is stuff like its academy setting, cool transforming weapons and yes, even its androids-and-axes sci-fi fantasy aesthetic. The aesthetic present here is quite clearly more grounded, and I'm wondering if these characters can fight a Monty-style fight scene or even Fullmetal Alchemist level combat. FMA still managed to have very high octane combat due to the alchemy magic system allowing to create objects at will, essentially transforming the landscape as they fought, which fits Monty's style pretty well. With the fact that Dust is now more strictly just a conventional fuel source, the vibe I get from these designs suggest a more slow, calculated and grounded combat style like Dark Souls or God of War 2018 at its flashiest with the Tier 2 Aura. Still, this is super interesting and I'm keeping a close eye on this. I'm still holding out hope for a RWBY rewrite closer to the original template. Unicorn of War and Celtic Phoenix have been working on their own, and Muffin Man Dan up till he dropped the show, I'm just sad that they haven't really mobilised for such a unified lore and direction. Be proud of the momentum you're having with this, it's truly impressive.

I prefer you're version of RWBY to what Miles and Kerry are giving us now. Also an idea for Weiss, Weiss has admirations to become Queen of Atlas one day but not to conquer but to make things better for her people: get rid of the drugs, improve relations with the faunus and the other nations, etcetera. To do this she and her childhood friend Sapphire Azure made a pact to help eachother succeed in their goals: Weiss with being queen and Sapphire wishes to reach Tier 3 and become a Huntress so she could serve her friend faithfully as a bodyguard and champion of the Atlean people (Sapphire also secretly has a crush on Weiss but that's not important). So Sapphire basically had Weiss kind of nudge her way into Beacon and in turn Sapphire is always there for Weiss and her team no matter what.
Torchwick could be a crime boss that helps out the White Fang. Like a bad guy but not a "bad guy." The White Fang helps him with major operations and Roman provides legitimate jobs for any faunus. Like he's kinda a Godfather guy. And RWBY could contact him whenever they need an illegal hand, kind of a "Devil you know" situation.
I think the only concern I truly have with this fanfiction is that it doesn’t have any cool weapons. Like the show before I mean for me the weapons were the cool thing about the original show. Also everything else in the fan fiction is good need some more revising and it’s golden.
i think that the cool weapons should be from the empire but super old and out of commission. but high ranking hunters would be able to rebuild them to original (or just as good as possible) order.
What if Silver Eyes make it *harder* to advance one's Semblance? It makes sense that having that latent power would make things easier, but as the idea of a Semblance is now rooted more deeply in a person's own nature and identity, having the vestiges of another family member's semblance in your soul would make that more difficult rather than easier, right? This also fits as a thematic challenge for Ruby: her family's legacy and the power behind it bringing her a measure of strength, but also challenging her in at least equal measure, with the Semblance issue making that aggressively literal.
Well I gotta say, if nothing else, you've certainly sold me on your geopolitical interpretation of "Remnant"; I am however very intrigued about all of those territories between the main countries. Either way, I can't wait to see what'll be done with all of this.
Weapon / power ideas for team RWBY Ruby: I actually liked the ideas your discord came up with, no change I can come up with Yang: weapon swaps Maybe Yang's weapons change over the course of the series starting out with what is essentially a chain-wrapped bat accentuating her bullying / punk demeaner later taking on knuckle dusters as she gets a better handle on her anger and more precise strikes weiss: power fixes Weis's tier 2 unlock could just be simple low-power dust shots fired from her rapier/bow, her tier 3 could be the glyphs considering those are her strongest power and can basically break any encounter if she just uses them in any intelligent manor maybe have a disconnect between her and her family over the quote on quote "weakness" displayed by her teir 2 unlock considering it's just a bit of an upgraded gun instead of the crazy abilities expected of a noble In terms of character ideas, well, shit she comes from a military / noble family;maybe she's the tactician of the group constantly annoyed early on considering only 1 member actually listens to her while yang runs in at full speed and blake keeps sneaking off before weiss can think of a plan blake: weapon swaps Blake can start out with hidden blades but to kee cthe ninja aesthetic she can switch to cool chain-weapons to reflect her more outgoing character later on this allows for grappling hooks, increased range, and other shenanigans
LJK401 it’s much more complicated than I’d like to get into but in short it’s only so easy to do it nowadays because we filter our water before hand and boiling is rarely done, but back then they had only ordinary water which they didn’t even know would get better because nobody until at least 1000 A.D understood germ theory and as such wouldn’t even know that boiling it would make it safer.

Can I just say, aside from expressing how amazingly detailed and entertaining this video to my immense appreciation, I was a major Adam fan in the first RWBY years and was greatly disappointed with his characterization. The justice you did to his character in this version is a boon to this video, in my opinion, and I just wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation of that. Thumbs up, my dude, and hope life is on the up-and-up on your end!
I like that he said if beacon never existed Adam would have been the protagonist of the story, which is great considering in his previous video he said he only included adam to spite rooster teeth and in addition to that, makes him the good character. (as far as we can tell at this point of the story and production process) Honestly though, I don't think you can screw over Adam's character more so then Rooster already has in the show, adam may have died in volume 6 but his acutal character died in volume 3.

So the three tiers of hunters, is like a light version of cultivators in chinese wuxia. Intensive training and meditation, to break "layers" to get stronger. First touching off on strength, speed, heightened reflexes and eventually into the manipulation of chi then spiritual energies. The tiers here, only seems like the hunters of this world stop at the physical stage, and like wuxia stories, screwing up one's cultivation can lead to crippling injuries or even death but most often at the higher tiers.
Hey for Yang's weapons it can be like the game Starcraft's unit, the Zealot and their weapon the Psiblade. In the game its pretty much a gauntlet that projects a force(?, Dont remember much, you can research) encompassing the users hands which is pretty much making your hands a blade. Now for Yang to obtain such a weapon, i could guess like in her pursuit to be better she crafts her own weapons(?, using old imperial tech or whatever, you choose. Also that could lead her to make her bike, idk) the weapon i suppose could have multifunctions like acting as blade or shotguns, or normal rifle, it obviously is powered by dust. Now problems with my idea is that having functioning imperial weaponry would most definitely attract the interest of states of marathon as well as other organizations which can lead to altercations with the criminals and state spies. I dont want her to be too Mary Sue in that she can make powerful weaponry so yall can limit the power of the weapon. Also yang being an angry, genius inventor could be an interesting quirk (? Yall can workshop that idea). That my take for Yang. Sorry, not sorry for big paragraph, I like creating lore ideas
Good stuff in general. I do have a couple of contention points to bring up though. I've mentioned this before but the two opposing religions sound extremely similar. People will not remember which is which. Like I just watched the video and I already forgot. And isn't Beacon a little bit.... too far into the Grimlands? Like it's a bit inconvenient to put the combat school/church that far away from the kingdom they are meant to be protecting.

I'm not a fan of the super special main character having the super specail specials and everyone expects them to be super special which they are. Something I like about the original series that in the first episode showed her being good, but she is brought up to others her level removing the main character be special because protagonist.

Ruby's that little girl from "pick a generic 80's sitcom," Yang is edgy bitter sibling who's jealous of her sister, Blake's in the trenchcoat mafia, Weiss is Pyrrha from RWBY, Ironwood's Iroh without the dead kid (unless Penny bites it in this version,) Penny's a mouthpiece for the author, Torchwick's Torchwick but with just a little more Sanji from One Piece, Neo's Ms. Pauling from TF2, and Winter, the only interesting one in the bunch, is Lex fucking Luthor.

Having her go from a lightweight spell caster into a heavy tank death knight sounds pretty cool, would also make for a great use of changing battlefield tactics on the fly.

My mental notes and additions to build off what you already have.. 1. [7:43] I like the tier system for the Grimm and I'd like to add to Grimm research. . when slain the Grimm always evaporate into a dark mist that quickly fades away; much like the water cycle the Grimm mist eventually turns into a liquid state that often seems to be drawn by any Grimm liquid that gather in pools of Grimm liquid to reform into a new Grimm (as seen in volume 4). 2. [8:50] the Grimm eating dust that gain it's Elemental features is genius because it's a perfect way how to keep dust a renewable resource, yet through the methods of dealing with a buffed Grimm makes it difficult enough to farm the dust. Plus with the fact dragon-like Grimm exist it makes it realistic that Grimm seek out dust to gain an evolutionary advantage. In addition: Grimm are a immortal specie's, they die and reform in a cycle similar to the carbon and water cycles.. They are basically forces of nature just like dust. 3. {Brainstorming a in-world hypothesis} Dust is similar to the Grimm at the atomic level. When observed with an electron microscope it seems as though they are uniform and work perpetually in unison. The dust produces it's own element by vibrating at specific frequencies that produces and contains an Elemental force that only occur naturally in very specific circumstances. But while wood turns into fire after being acted on by an outside force to ignite the flames, Dust is on fire constantly all by itself independent of outside sources.. It's similar to matter and antimatter. {watch CERN conspiracy theories on RU-vid to understand what I mean by antimatter being on fire constantly without an outside force acting on it}. The Grimm particles are the exact same, acting independently to form and reform into a Grimm creature. It's existence seems to be nothing more than to evolve, horde dust, fight, die, reform and improve on whatever new form or design might preform better that the last. {For better understanding of what I intend is videos on the Halos Flood and how the flood supercell is literally always changing forms to adapt and expand perpetually to overwhelm anything and everything. HiddenXperia's channel and playlist will help you understand what I envision the Grimm being.. Except without the infesting of a hosts body.} *these are some improvised nuggets of brainstormed additions to help form on top of what you have in this video.. Already topped the original creators of the show In my opinion..
