JERRY! JERRY! IT'S OVER! RWBY ALT IS OVER, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE CONSUMED BY IT ANY LONGER! YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE KNOWN AS THE SOIL ACIDITY CHART RWBY PROJECT GUY ANYMORE! JEEEEERRRRYYYYY!! (seriously though, nice to hear you're moving on to other things now and slowly but surely laying your claim over Alt as purely its own thing; all the best. Your 6-hour playlist was honestly intriguing to explore. also props for using my art lol)
It’s strange. The way you describe the Silver Eyed Warriors sounds an AWFUL lot like a certain manga series I read a while ago called “Claymore”. People turned into super weapons by injecting them with monster blood and having silver eyes as a side effect. Other details are different but, yeah. Silver warriors=claymores.
You know at this point, RWBY is probably going to fade into the background, and while I am sad to see that it's potential was so wasted, I will always be happy to see others take it as a starting point, create a story using the aesthetics and some basic aspects of the lore to do their own thing. Even it's a dying trend I have seen some truly wonderful works come out of it both large and small. So thanks for this, it was a nice experience.
Obonko's return is coming, may he look upon you with favor and spare you. (seriously though I can't believe that a stupid joke I made in a discord vc about an Australian Grimm like 3 years ago is still alive, thank you for everything)
A genuine thank you for putting this out. It's excellently done, and honestly works as a setting for another game. Referring to it as a marked improvement over RWBY is honestly insulting to the level of creativity, thought and effort you put into it. I wish you the best in your personal endeavors.
Ah, I love worldbuilding content! This was a great overview of the relevant history of Marathon, and the use of music and visuals combined with the narration painted a super clear image. The interconnectedness of all the events and places really helped create a believable history and engaging narrative, and I liked the little bits of etymology thrown in. Everything came together to make it seem like this was just a small drop in an ocean of lore, however much is actually written at the moment. Also, question: Was all the music used in this video from the RWBY Alt playlist linked at the end?
This is the most drastic rewrite I've ever seen, and I love it. Someone far more talented than I should make a full story of this world, it has a lot of potential.
No joke, I was planning out the story for how I would've written book 1 of RWBY Alt (more to get myself back into writing) when I found this. I like the narration and worldbuilding here, and I appreciate you still putting this out, even if this project spiraled out of control and you no longer want anything to do with it. Best wishes to whatever you have for the future, RWBY Alt or otherwise.
Q: Why did you make this? A: I've been sitting on this video for about a year and I felt like it was time to put something out there. I at least owe that to y'all for sticking around this long. Q: Are you coming back to RWBY ALT? A: No - the main project is not coming back. Am I working on it? Sure; I post some misc stuff on the World Engine when I feel like it, and I also write on the side. But there isn't a Discord and there isn't a public project, and I have zero intention of making one. When its finished in approximately a century, it probably won't even be RWBY anymore. So forget about it. Q: Is this a separate public project? Will there be a Discord? A: No. Q: Can we build it in the World Engine discord? A: No. That server's only for Spellstuff and Solar. Q: Are you making more of this? A: No. Q: Are we even ALLOWED to associate with this? A: If you want to make stuff for it, go ahead; I can't stop you. But please don't try to get me involved. Q: What is the most up-to-date version of RWBY ALT? A: You'll probably never see it. But the closest PUBLIC version would be "A Story In Music" posted to the World Engine. It has the skeleton of the entire story mapped out in a musical compilation. Some of the names have since changed, and everything after Act 1 is a little fuzzy, but its the best you're gonna get. Q: Are you bringing back Praise and Play? A: I quit anime over a year ago, and I'm not going back. I hate the content, I hate the community. I don't want to go to hell when I die. Q: Are you doing more video essays? A: It's an oversaturated format - I'd prefer you just go out and engage with media on your own instead of listening to a talking head. Do the research yourself, make your own deductions. You'll be richer for it. Q: Are there any plans for the future? A: Based on what I've been posting this year, you can make an educated guess on what I'm working on. I also have Spellstuff, which I've been neglecting as a result of that. I also have better stories I could be writing - approximately a billion others. I also have IRL responsibilities. All of these are a lot more important than a RU-vid channel, regardless of how many subs - hence the silence. It's not that I don't care; I'm just not a kid anymore. I'll answer any other questions when I can.
Jerry's world building always gets my creative juices flowing. It sucks there is always so little of it though, I'll have to listen to the album to suck the rest out.
Still watching, but bruh, this Spartan like introduction makes me wonder how the heck a cinnamon roll like Ruby would be a cinnamon roll of a person in such brutal world. lol
This thing is so edgy that you could accidentally shave your brows while looking at it. It's amazing how different people come up with different interpretations based on the same bad show. Makes you wonder what Dead Dude's interpretation was - if there even was any.
You know what amazes me how we both want to change this world even know as things currently stand, they might get worse. so I ask you this do you think remnant is the perfect price for all of mythologies monsters or not?
I have to say Jerry you are well on the way to making a rather in-depth world rich in lore and history capable of producing rather interesting and complex stories. Your statement of "it probably won't even be RWBY anymore." is pretty much past due. Yeah certain things are named similarly however, outside of that you have created pretty much a completely different world from RWBY. Now granted RWBY cannon didn't have much in terms of world building or lore however , this that you are working on has in my mind gone past RWBY. I look forward to seeing what happens with Spellstuff and Solar.
Ngl the first hunters(the silver eyed champions) feel like witchers with the backstory of them and I think that’s awesome. It’s badass and tragic at the same time.
Ok so people often forget how much 5% is it's one in twenty, that means that one in twenty people has silver eyes. Btw this is awesome it's just I think that people forget how many people even one percent of a population is. One percent is one in a hundred that is a lot of people.
Honestly so much effort and work done in service for a dark fantasy vibe is cool. But the more I see this develop the less reason I see in having this be rwby. It's like reading alt history fanfics where things are changed so much that it's not even earth. I can see that's trying to make this more realistic and gritty but it's just two sides of the same coin. Cringing at how childish the real cannon is equal to cringing at how dark and violent this is. Idk if there's anyway to find a middle ground. Honestly probably for the best to just double down on dark fantasy. Still good to see this worked on.
hey, jerry. its been a while since I thought about Rwby Alt, but I went and rewatched the series you have done on it, and wanted to make a series in the world. I doubt you will notice this comment, or much less care, but I was curious if you would answer a few questions, the first and most important being allowing me to use your version of RWBY alternate? If there are more, I recently found my way to your discord, so we can talk there, or I can give you a way to talk with me, if you are at all inclined to due so. the inspiration and desire to explore the world became quite great, but I was never certain how I would even try to contact you, and when trying to find out, I stumbled upon this video, making me once more want to write/draw RWBY alt. I planned on making it a webtoon comic, if you are curious, thus I wanted to check serveral lore things with you, raise some questions, and make sure I dont put in things that would contradict or conflict with your ideas. like a letter, I suppose, The Storyteller-1
My au would have an army called Grimmes and they an army of people with black & duel hair and pale skin. They would have Grimm imbued into them through a semblance of the original leader. They'd be stronger have hard to control empathy powers which drove many of them insane to start conquering people. They conquered Atlas which is placed in rocky mountains and in modern day 20% of Atlas's population is tied to them. They had a custom to wear black lipstick which became a staple for many huntsmen and huntress. Salem tried to play them for fools being a Grimm goddess and got mentality scarred having a set of twins and after this she wised up keeping a greater distance from people using Grimm to communicate with her inner-circle. This is all what I have so far and I think it's cool.
@@LiveGame555 Yeah, I think I saw that he used images of Jaime to represent an original character of his. Apart from that, I see extreme influence from ASOIAF and fan theories about ASOIAF, and no acknowledgement
They say those who do the same thing over and over again waiting for a different result are mad. lol No, seriously, dude, forget RWBY, let it die. Your emotions for it weren't real.
