Thank you soooo much! Your shop videos are so helpful. Thanks for taking the time to share all you do there. I bet you could do all that blindfolded LOL.

Nice video! What would happend if I pour oil on the adjuster rod hole, then installed rod, is that ok?
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles 8 месяцев назад
That isn't where the oil goes when bleeding. You can do that but it will just lube that rod. It would eventually maybe seep in but that isn't how to do it.

Thanks for video. How do you get the black plastic top off the brass rod without damaging it? It’s very tight.

Hi. I love your informative videos! 🙂 My son has an KTM SX 85, 2016. Im trying to find the correct air gap for the fork on that bike, but i cant find it anywhere. Do you know what it should be?
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles 2 года назад
I don't for sure but I think it should be about 80mm-100mm

hey awsome video, i put the xp1 kit in my xplor forks and it was a great improvement, do you have a part number for the compression base valves for the forks?
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles 4 года назад
I don’t right now but they are the same adjusters as the old open chamber forks.

Hey, thanks for your video. I have the race tech base compression adjusters on my xplor forks. If i just want to swap out shim stack (softer), can I put the forks upside-down and remove the base adjusters, swap the shims out and reinstall adjusters? Cheers
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles 4 года назад
I haven’t ever done that but I think you can. It shouldn’t cause a problem

I have to watch the vid again but I think I just used my hands. But if they are stubborn you have to chick them up in an aluminum holder

I have the xplor 48 forks on a 2019 ktm 500, the left one just won't bleed, do you have any advise plz
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Год назад
That one never feels like it’s bled. Moves very freely. It’s probably good.

Have you had an issue with the fork cap adjuster not bottoming out? was checking the base adjustment of my bike when i bought it and the compression clicker turns clockwise infinitely. is that an issue with the cap itself, or from someone previously going in there and not assembling it right?
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles 2 года назад
Probably not put together correctly

What do you do with all your waste liquids and if you have a disposal service, what should viewers do with their waste oil and other liquids?
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles 4 года назад
Scott Spradling great question. All of the petroleum products go into a waste barrel then a local guy comes and picks it up to use in his oil heater. The waste antifreeze goes to a special guy who disposed of it. There are lots of places that will take it in most every town. Just have to research it.

I just did the fork seal on my 2020 300 tpi n i bleed the air out of the damping rod- have a question is: when the damping rod is fully extended out should it freely drop back into the tube fairly quick , slowing drop or stay at the position its pulled out to? I notice mine falls back pretty quick. Also at the beginning of the stroke from bottomed out its has some drag as i pull it up, after about 1.5 inch from the bottom it pulls up fairly easy. Air seems to be all out. Thx

Where did you get those compression caps on the bottom?
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles 4 года назад
Here is the part number from KTM 48600586S3 It is just the cap. It doesn't come with any of the valving or the nut that holds it on. You also need 48600047 and 48600202 and 48600163. Those are the piston, check valve spring and nut. Then you will need all of the shims and some o-rings. If you are good with valving then that should get you there. If you aren't (and I am not) then you will have to have someone do it. You can also buy the fully assembled caps off of bay from a used bike and just put them in. They are from any of the open chamber forks from KTM. So a 2010 300 XC-W for instance. Hope that helps.
