Thank you for this video. I’ve got radiator out & one pin out of the cylinder. A very difficult job . I’ve got one more small pin & the the big one you had a hard time with. You can’t give me the size of that nut can you ? Lol Would help it’s so hard to get too. But the mechanics here in Kentucky wanted $600 just to take the power steering cylinder out ! And your video is the only one like my tractor. So thank you so much. I couldn’t have done it without you !!!
Where would one go to have the cylinder rebuilt? Doing some work on my 5000 and it appears the cylinder is leaking. Have the radiator out so figured it would be best to get it fixed now. Thanks!
Great video! I know it was a couple years ago, but do you remember what penetrating oil you used on that big pin? I got everything out except that one! Spent a day and a night spraying WD-40 on it and all day today trying PB Blaster...no luck so far.
My husband watched your video. His question at about 23 minutes into the video was what is the travel of the valve--- is it selectavalve, hydraulic directional to the cylinder, or what? He just bought a Ford 5000 with power steering problems and is wanting to know how the valve works.
Make your self some loader lift cylinder mechanical block pipes or u-channel, so you can lift your loader frame up all the way and rest the cylinders on your cylinder blocks so you do not have to crawl under the arms.
Ima a little late to the game, but have you had any problems with the hose clamp on the one line? None of my local shops will make mine on the original hard lines. It blew at the elbow. I have a 4000.
