It’s unfortunate that low quality rooms have overtaken the new page and in some cases the hot page, but due to Rec Rooms majority player base being “15 under” it’s going to keep on happening until Rec Room Devs take action. Majority of these low quality rooms have a “sandbox” type of feel, as for there is a lot for the player to do “as for the inventions” and they get to interact with other children, this is usually the mindset of the younger audience that plays these types of games. Majority of the “high quality” rooms look amazing trust me, but majority are flawed by their game design or game play loop. There is that middle ground but unfortunately, the majority of creators don’t know how to execute a map in that fashion. Hopefully in the near future we will be able to see and play more polished experiences from the majority of Rec Room Creators while creators maintain a profit as well.
FINALLY someone like toaster is talking about something like this. This issue has existed for a LONG TIME. I’m just glad someone has a louder voice than me to speak the obvious and what’s wrong with the new list and hot list with low effort rooms like these making it there and manipulating rec rooms young player base.
I honestly agree. One major part of Rec Room's charm is the potential of what games can be made. It relies heavily on players and how creative they can get with their rooms. These room plants not only tarnish people from UGC games, but people's view on Rec Room as a whole.

I understand low quality rooms mostly over shine rooms that actually have potential but that's not these creators fault. The low quality rooms are usually targeted towards kids, which a lot of kids play rec room. Kids don't care about the quality of a room, as long as they have fun. These creators also spend plenty of time promoting and gaining friends. I think if the same energy was applied to good quality rooms, this wouldn't be a problem. Now, calling someone a terrible person when you don't even know them... IS CRAZY. I personally know Sparky (@Sparky12310) and he is a very kind person. That photo was obviously satire and the amount of people who failed to see that is wild. Plenty of people sit down to hate on low quality creators but yet... they are still thriving. I'm sorry to say it but you can't be mad if you aren't trying fix or stop low quality creators from taking all the spotlight. I understand how frustrating it can be but sometimes that's just the way the cookie crumbles. It's never as serious to post a video shaming another person/ people.
I like this video. As a Rec Room creator, I know that many rooms right now are really low quality and it doesn't represent Rec Room in the best of lights. And I agree that really bad games should not be pushed to the hot or new page as easily as they are right now. But one thing that people need to understand is that a room can be extremely perfectly built, but still not have any replayability or fun in them to hold the younger players of Rec Room. I think the bigger part of the issue lies in the Rec Room community being mostly under 15 years old and choosing simple games over complicated ones. As a creator, you could either do what people will like, or do what you want and deal with more risks.
Not to mention these creators have the WORSE egos, a lot of them just copy and paste the exact same lay out from their older obbys and just change the color. Don’t get me started on the skibbidi toilet maps
some of the rec room games steal roblox's thumbnails for their game. Thats how lazy people are. They just dont make their own thumbnail and i 100% agree with this
I think the worst thing Rec Room did was introduce Rec Room Studio, it removed the charm of how you made rooms. I wish that Rec Room would return to how it was, so much better ngl And also you can import ANYTHING so you can just put in a bunch of models for monsters, import a free forest map asset, and then use a pathfinding invention to make them move, which means the creator of the room has put absolutely ZERO effort into their room, and it was ALL stolen.
It’s honestly sad on how no Rec room devs are taking action because really there’s no way to stop them trust me there is really no way because mostly little kids decide to lie about there age so they can have a account where you can talk so they can start making games but really the only people who can stop it are the devs themselves.
This video spits 100% facts, there was a low effort obny me and rustychicken played (rusty is one of those ACTUAL effort creators) and the obby every 5 stages, had a 'SUB TO CREATORS' button, even when you went in some tunnel, the profile to sub to them was smack in the middle, meaning if you were screen player, you would have no choice but to press button, these games need to be STOPPED. Plus, they get inventions from other EFFORT creators.
I 100% agree with this. It’s so unfair how so many other creators could put time into actually original and well made rooms and most of the time make nothing out of it. And the people who flex their tokens like they didn’t make Roblox tycoons and obbys and simulators, are crazy to me 😂
I’m pretty frustrated by this. I’m a moderator for BuildABaseToSurviveAI (there were no game passes) and before all of these were a thing the game was doing pretty well. But when the craze started it barely ever got visits. Thankfully it has gotten a tiny boost recently, not enough to completely revive the game but I’m still happy :D. But still. All these rooms have to stop.
Also my room called Pawze-Campus I actually tried and the inventions in there were circuits that I just couldn’t do. Although one was super stupid of me to add because I could add it myself. These days I just try to actually make rooms than earlier when I was really bad with maker pen and let’s be honest. As a rec room creator, I have seen a lot of low effort rooms on rec room and some of them that uses thumbnails from Roblox of all places, looks like you, Recanite and I have to solve this together!
Yeah, this is the biggest issue I have with the, Rec Room Community. They put little to no effort in their rooms. If anything it's essentially cheating the system. It's just so annoying that people just make Roblox wannabe simulators on Rec Room.
As recroom is usually the beggining steps creators learn to make their own games im proud of anyome who made any rooms. "Low" quality" or not. I think crushing new creators who use inventions is being negative and a bully. Which is against the code.
They make it down to impossible to make it in the game creation space... Why isn't Rec Room stunting their growth while privating and Locking both the rooms and their ability to make rooms/events/alts
Another thing I like to call “low effort” is the copied ignited rooms, where they all have the same formula, same perks. They are cash grabs and are done easily by RRS.
I mean tho we have thoes low quality rooms and stuff, Rec Room can still be a fun place it's just having a moment right now. But I kinda agree when he said. I mean, I remember the days where every room was nice, and wholesome... IDK, it's low quality, not like this, just no good makerpen shapes. And before RR studio, like No Eyes, it was so fun to find these games. And now it's just clickbait and abuses ignorance for tokens... It's sad. Like the old rooms where it was based off of real PVP games or something else . It used to be fun with random, Sonic, Kermit things... But alas, internet changes. I have afew classics... Like: Vacation, Meme PVP and No Eyes. Mostly No Eyes 1, No Eyes 4 is coming out soem day.
I haven’t played rec room in a while,(back when it was a good game not filled with 3 year olds) and to see that this is what the game has come to is kinda sad
I have seen the invention thing happen. I do it too, but i dont publish my rooms (nobody sees it) dont have rr+ (cant profit off of other's work) and its a passion. Only use inventions in games if u build as a passion, dont plan to make money off of it, and dont publish the room
This is so true. I believe Rec Room does have a plan to slowly start taking these low effort rooms out of the spotlight. In all seeing we have things you can buy, but we intentionally put them to the side, and made them cheap. They also offer little to no advantage. This is how I believe room currency should be used, not overpriced inventions but just small donations or things to help improve your experience in the room while not making it unfair for others
I try to do my best with making good rooms but i dont know AI so i cant do much but animations or lighting so it sucks, somebody once said "good rooms will never get noticed" and hes right they wont as long as the cash grabs are here, but i still love rec room even though the community is not all good, if you want to find good parts of the community you just have to look hard enough then youll find some rooms or people, anyways give it your rec room best and ignore these rooms and just have fun
Honestly theres this amazing rec room boxing game id played that has only like 2,000 visits and its probably one of the best fighting games id play in rec room
I am not a fan of the low quality rooms and I think more people need to focus on actually making good looking rooms high quality rooms. I am on the horror creator side of RR and I can see how overlooked really good looking games are and the ones who do make nice making games visits stop short under 1k and its sad to see it gontomwaste . But I do think some day there will be actual good games all over the front page.
dude. fuck low quality rooms. ever since they had become a thing, now with the supposed changes to the CCOC, newer creators might be flagged as low quality rooms when they try to make rooms, they better make the new CCOC have rules that just take low effort rooms out of the picture, and not newer creators.

I could go on an hour long rant about how lazy and ignorant rec room mods and how they call any warning of another player and their actions "witchhunting" since they are too lazy to do anything about it and i think theyll let stuff like this go on a bit longer cause in the end people are paying rec room to buy tokens
