@@patrickquinn5962 Thanks Patrick, I've been recording the last footage before putting the layout away.

If you glue a small magnet onto the end if a stick or pen tube, then hold it close over the couplings, both the loops will lift through magnetism. It works for Triang-Hornby tension lock, Lanal and European Bemo couplings.

@@CZ350tuner thanks, I hadn't thought of that. I've even got the magnet.

There's quite a good progress with the layout, a lot of adventures over a summer and (now) a beautiful gentle autumn, there were neighbours, bugs, cicadas, cats and dogs with acoustic (or more) support here and there, this is surely a sign that (as some wise individuals say) when we really, really wish something, the entire Universe conspire to fulfill it. Nice week-end, Patrick, cheers!

@@Cristake1974 the Universe is the real locomotive of all our activities, so it's our job to find the right coupling to hitch up to it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Cris and have a nice weekend too!

I've used Chinagraph pencils for markings, in the past. Weird things, Chinagraph pencils, in that one gradually unwraps them as they wear down.

@@CZ350tuner I've got a black one, I can't remember when or why I bought it though.

@@patricksmodels I have a few white ones. Aircrews used to use them for course plotting on maps, back in the old days.

@@CZ350tuner now I remember, I brought mine home from the army, we used black ones to fill in the company duty board. In Italy we call them "matita vetrografica" or just "vetrografica". I came across it the other day while rummaging through my stationery box.
