This comic book pushed into a very experimental style of storytelling, things that could only be done in this medium, and it succeeded with flying colors. A really special book, this one.
Really really hope we get a reprint of this! One of the omnis I regret I wasn't able to buy in time before the last copy was bought from my LCS lol. So really hoping we get a reprint for the disney+ series haha
Thanks for the vid Gem, this is a very interesting & different type of book w/ Hawkeye. I remember seeing these issues hit the rack @ my old comic store, I already had a large pull list & unfortunately these didn't pop for me. Thanks again Gem & keep up the great work!
I just bought this omnibus last week at a local comic book shop. I have never actually read Hawkeye before but I dig the cover and wanted to add it to my collection so I am a bit surprised by the coincidence of your video post and the timing with my book pickup. Cheers Gem.
Sorry Gem, but this was one of my top 5 reads. I enjoyed it si much, it was so relaxing that I took my time reading it, didn't rush. Artwork and coloring are out of comment. Realistic, bit grounded, in a good way, and really really cool.
The way you talked about the art in Hawkeye is how I felt when Andrea Sorrentino did the art in Old Man Logan, different panel layouts, unconventional storytelling in some ways. I think I might want to read this because of how different it is, thanks and great video Gem 💎
Shout out for mentioning The Super with big joe P😎 I used to binge that film in the mid/late 90s,thought I was the only one who knew about that lol PEACE!
Hi Gem, love your videos. Can you do me/us a big favour and explain how to read spider man (Omnibus). Like reading order and maybe which one first, spectacular spiderman, amazing spiderman, peter parker spiderman... or some sort of mixure. Hard to get into and do not miss anything important. Thanks! Dave
That's a good idea, reading order videos would be cool. I think omnibuses are pretty straight forward usually, but then again the newer stuff is hard. Like is it Uncanny X-Force then Wolverine and the X-Men then Avengers vs. X-Men?
@@anthonyschueler6149 What do you mean with straight forward. I'm just got my first 2 omnibus of spiderman and should i read it just straight through or get "all" omnibus and first read the whole "web of spider" for example? Confusing! Thanks!
@@systemo20 I only collect X-Men primarily so I don't know Spider-Man events. But I'd recommend looking up the events of your books online to see which books come first chronology. If that doesn't help you can look up when the material in the books were published. For example if the material in one book is from the early 90s and the material of the other book was published in the early 2000s, then the events in the 90s material likely comes first
What’s a good omnibus to start with, I’ve always been into comic characters, shows, movies etc. but never was interested in having a bunch of individual comics, I’m pretty open to any and all.
Sound Bro, looks good. I might just pick it up now I’ve seen the art etc, A great honest review now is time for Master of Kung Fu ....... hey a rhyme lol
david aja is one of the most amazing artist ive ever seen . great story teller. this run definitely made him seem incompetent. as if he never led the avengers , west avengers, and the thunderbolts. everyone woman in this book put clint down. a lot of the jokes are funny but it does get too much. it has "agenda" kind of all over it. there was a part with the dog that pissed me off. it was a kick in gut. i remember at the time everyone reading had pretty much the same reaction we were all pissed at kate. even with all the women are great hawkeye is not i loved this run.
