Jack Kirby nailed out so much art work it is amazing, just like Stan Lee who was writing about 10 different comics at one time. yup holy crap. Kirby stuff sometimes is hit and miss. he started doing a heck of a lot of 4 panel pages which is his way of knocking it out faster. and you can tell when he rushed things, faces look like they have this odd frozen gazed look to them with started eyes. there's many avengers stuff exactly what I'm saying which is how you can tell Kirby. thor sometimes his face just looks odd there's inconsistencies. it's weird, cause I read SHIELD and his art work is radically different more refined and you don't see a lot of his what I call, "sausage fingers" when he draws.
Looking forward to collecting the whole Dan Jurgens run. Waited for the 2nd printing of Walt Simonson's Thor. It was definitely worth the wait, and my patience paid off literally.
It's all good. Your channel is the shit, along with Peter Marinari and sometimes Comicbookgirl19. Keep this up! A readthrough, review, or discussion about that 90s Thor by Jurgens and Romita Jr. would be cool. I've been considering buying that, and I'm still on the fence.
Silver age Thor is a pretty good read. The Kirby art helps a lot. Spider-Man is the best IMO, then FF and Dr. Strange. I'd put Thor and Silver Surfer right after those. SHIELD, Avengers, Iron-Man, and Cap are decent. X-Men, Hulk, and especially Daredevil were a chore at times. Probably why they published the DD omnibus last.
I have the first Omni...however decided to read the first few issues in the Masterworks collection...fun stuff...single issue stories...love the panel when he says..."oh No I am tripping" lol
It suck'S i can't find something so Amazing in Romania its hard to find comics or graphic novels in Europe and when You find them they are expensive as hell + the shipping costs as much as the book . Again bro much much RespecT . You are my HerO . Keep up the good work .
I don't have the other first two omnis, but I have 3 and you will like it if you read it, the art is awesome and the stories are more action packed for a silver age omnibus, it took me by surprise!
I know how much Simonson's run gets praised but I remember even as a kid thinking Throg (frog Thor) was just about the single dumbest thing I had ever read in comics up to that point lol
Can anyone tell me whether there are letter's pages in Omnibus #2 or not? GMC shows quite clearly that there are none in #1 (right?). By what issue do they start printing the letters pages in the Omnies? And does that answer to by what # they started printing letters in the original JIM books...?
They’ve been reprinting so much captain America lately, hopefully Thor’s next..I can’t drop $500 on the book with all these statues I have on order lol
