Glad you liked the records including "An American Tail". I'm surprised the Dolly Parton reissue wasn't blue to match the cover. I like the way they made the border gold, though. Dolly singing "God Bless The USA" just means Lee Greenwood gets more money since he wrote it.
Awesome that u got some more Bowie in your collection after the guncles video 👏👏 Great to see robert giving out the gifts. 🧡💿 u really saved the best till last with the Bowie, Alison Goldfrapp, and Fiona. 🎶🎵🎶🔊 So much fabulous music in this video.
Very nice of Robert. I like his first name. {smile} Dirty Mind has always been my go-to Prince album. Maybe because it was the first Prince album that I bought. I grabbed it on the week that it was released. They had a huge display setup at Strawberries Records in downtown Boston. is fantastic from start to finish. Beginning to end. Controversy is great too. But DM has it all. I did not get to see him live until the Purple Rain Tour in 1987 at the Worcester Centrum. He was great of course. Sheila E was the backup band. Very cool to see some of your Dolly collection. The debut RCA was nice. I dig the yellow vinyl. I liked the Zappa analogy that you threw in. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TLIppgE45wM.html Excellent update once again C~ Rob/Boston
Wow, great stuff! You are in an avalanche of vinyl goodness! LOVE that Alison Goldfrapp album...it doesn't have Will Gregory, but Richard X stood in and did a fantastic production job. That Fiona Apple album is brilliant too--Wish they'd be a little more easily available than just Vinyl Me Please and flippers. Nice Bowie selections...so many great 70's albums of his (Low is a favorite of mine...it's so different). That recent Duran album is great (you should look for the deluxe edition with the 5 extra tracks...the package is beautiful), and Mike Garson was actually David Bowie's keyboard player for many many years. He did the solo on the title track on the Aladdin Sane album (Go listen to that again for the sheer brilliance of it). He was actually giving virtual piano lessons during the pandemic. Not sure that's still a thing but a friend's wife did one or two. Nice chap and SUPER talented. RIP Tony Bennett who died today...you might not have known before uploading the video...I'm sure Lady Gaga is depressed today. Keep up the great videos!
Thank you so much! I’ve been watching your weekly updates but I’m terrible at commenting. Really enjoy the album recommendations at the end. Now that you say that about Mark Garson it clicks.
Great video! I'm envious that you have that "An American Tail" soundtrack. It was the first movie that i ever saw in a theater when I was a child. I also love that Remi Wolf album. I agree that she's somewhat reminiscent of Lily Allen.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that felt the Lily similarities with Remi. An American Tail will always be very special to me. I also saw it in the theatre but it wasn’t my first movie in a theatre. I believe that was Pinocchio (it was a re-release in the late 70’s. I’m not that old!) Thank you so much for watching Stevie!
VMP not including liner notes, or anything special with their Dolly releases is one thing I'm not a fan of. The covers for the VMP exclusives I just don't get why they didn't have a good clear copy of the front and back cover. How does the original pressing of Just Because I'm a Women compare to the VMP?
I think it sounds pretty good. Some of the first time reissues do have liner notes. But most early releases were released with the notes on the back of the sleeve and just a plain paper sleeve. I do wish the images were a little clearer. If they’re able to get the original recording you think they’d be able to get the original images. I don’t know. I’m just happy to have them.
