Fun fact: Bluey is in 22nd place for best rated tv shows of all time. Keep in mind, there’s other amazing shows like Breaking Bad that have to compete with a preschool show.
Shocker, in an era where the current generation is being screen raised by lazy Gen Z and young millennials for even the most basic of social development, a cheaply animated young children's show manages to take a prime spot on some arbitrary list. Next you'll tell me that the Gen Z fry cooks are demanding the same wages as the doctors. Or that instead of working you can become morbidly obese and film your privileged gluttony in a developed society without public food scarcity? Oh wait...
Huge props for mentioning the Internet Archive lawsuit! Thanks for bringing it to the attention of your audience, it’s important more people know about it and support the archive by donating as much as they can to help them with the lawsuit against the book publishers! Thanks a lot man! 💙
Lost media is just so fascinating. You feel like an archeologist trying to find a buried city by uncovering smallest pieces with each step taken, and when you do eventually find it, the payback is enormous! Someday, I will have to dig through all VHS tapes that we have collected over the course of couple decades. Who knows, maybe there is something that is considered lost media!
20:07 thank you for the shout out. The hub game shows were a huge part of my childhood and I’m glad that we have almost all the episodes. Season 5 episode 13 is actually found I’ll be uploading it tomorrow night.
Fun fact! The library of Alexandria is used as a popular example for the severity of these situations but it wasn’t actually that bad! They knew the library was needing some work for a while and that it was so old already, so most of what would have been in it was actually already elsewhere or preserved for the time being in some other way. It was still a large loss of information but nowhere near the scale it’s made out to be. So unless we can help take down those four publishers, this threat to information and knowledge could be way worse. I see the text on screen saying it’s not quite so dire to clarify that Alexandria is being used as exaggeration for emphasis, but I think you actually don’t need that text. This situation is just as dire if not more.
exactly, IA themselves have said the lawsuit will only affect their book-borrowing program and none of the sites other functions, so the sky is definitely not falling here like some people make it out to be.
@@krysanthemum6528 I can't tell either, I hope the guy who runs this channel isn't a Rogan fan(or at least does not agree with his batshit insane anti-vaxx and bigoted viewpoints).
@@qtips1719 what's really cringe is your weak attempt to be edgy. Try making some friends irl or something then you'll have less time to make yourself look like a frustrated incel online.
quick note on the SpongeBob Shanghaied episode: there's a 2002 DVD called "Sea Stories" which my brother & I got as kids which has the Patrick and Squidward endings so they were available much earlier than 2009.
I can confirm, my brother and I had the same dvd set and we might still have it tucked away somewhere in our basement and we definitely had it before 2009! I never saw the episode on tv or the patchy segment special event so finding out there was an episode with 3 different endings both blew my mind and confused the heck out of me as a kid!
You know what I hate about Bluey? The show has NO RIGHT to be that good. It's adorable, it's charming. It's not below par CGI models standing around slowly singing songs with follow along lyrics on the screen. It doesn't have the main characters ask the audience where the blue triangle or whatever is right behind them while staring at them for 30 seconds with their dead eyes. There's something great about the sitcom format for both the adults and kids watching. Just... it's too beautiful to exist and somehow it does.
Space Monster Mangmagwi isn't S. Korea's first Kaiju film, that title goes to Bulgasari (1962). Sadly though, Bulgasari has been been lost but a copy of the screenplay is availabe in the Korean Film Archive. Apparently it wasn't recieved well upon release due to poor special effects that critics labeled "unconvincing" compared to similar movies of the era.
Bulgasari is North Korean. Didn't know it was lost media. RU-vidr Atrocityguide did a video reviewing the movie and talking about the history of it's creation.
I watched Family Game Night and The Game Of Life all of the time when they were still airing, I had no idea that they were lost media. Seeing the clips in the video brought back a lot of memories, it's so cool that it's almost completely found now!
@@manicpepsicola3431 This is coming from the dude who forgot the apostrophe on both "It's" and "You're." I find it equally funny how you misspelled "Arthur," considering the fact you were looking at it while typing your response. Not to mention how you forgot the comma after Arthur. You're definitely the target demographic for Bluey.
@@manicpepsicola3431 i'm guessing you're very young and immature judging by your poor grammar. Not "old" just have more wisdom than you, if you like the show fine but there are better kids shows out there in my humble opinion.
I saw it on cbeebies about a week before it exploded and I thought it was terrible. after it blew up I found it weird that people were praising it. Now after it turned out to be a fad, I'm starting to wonder if anyone ever liked it or if they were just gaslighting themselves
As someone hyperfixated on Cartoon Network at the moment(and for a long while now), I’m so happy to see new content surface for its shows. The fact that it’s about them balling, let alone in the city my home town is closest to(Atlanta), makes it even more awesome to me!
Dude, it feels so surreal seeing Family Game Night get lost. I remember watching (and practically being obsessed with) the show all the time back in around 2018-19, and it somehow becoming lost media for a time baffles me. I am very glad that the majority of the episodes are now recovered, though (including Episode 13, revealed by Phanpy Ken in this video’s comment section), it’s nice seeing a show I loved dearly that somehow went missing become found once again. I really wish I could contribute, but we lost our Xfinity equipment and access earlier on in the year (or later into 2022), and since Xfinity was how I was able to watch the show, I can’t help towards the cause in any way (though I don’t think it would’ve mattered either way). Still, it’s very great to see the show return like this, and I’m glad I can experience it for myself once again!
@@squarohedron0664 maybe if it was something cool that had a big ongoing search I could understand the appeal of being a super villian, but refusing to share old game shows is just pathetic.
Mike, ur content literally makes my day every time you upload dude. You've gotten me and so other people into lost media and it's guys like you that inspire us to go out and rediscover our lost past and i think its so freaking awesome that you've built this community to release content to keep this stuff alive and this entertaining🤘
I'd love to see an episode on lost sitcoms. There are plenty that we probably won't ever see just because they are too mediocre to be wanted, or because they aired live and were never taped. But there are some short-lived sitcoms and pilots that are either well-remembered or notorious. I'm personally obsessed with finding lost sitcoms of Norman Lear and James Komack, like "Hot L Baltimore", "All That Glitters", and "Mr. T and Tina" to name a few. But I'd be interested in anything else people are obsessed with finding.
is so heartbreaking not only that there´s stuff from the hub network that is lost media...but old enough to be nostalgic lost media! sigh let´s not get started on all the commercials and specials bumpers, most of them are in the youtube channel (still active) but more and more special ones do keep popping up in those commercial breaks compilations
I recently went to my local arcade and it had an arcade game "connect 4 hoops" I think what could be happening is that they based of that part of the game night show and put it into arcade form or that's what that game night event is based off
Correction, the 2002 Spongebob DVD Sea Stories included all of the alternate endings to "Shangheid"(though you had to play the episode from the beginning to access each one).
I remember seeing the 2017 Pilot. When I was in class, my teacher Mr. Thomman was married or knew someone from the team that made the pilot and he showed my class.
I remember watching the Game of Life game show, I really liked it. I saw all the episodes when they first premiered. I had no idea it was lost until recently. Hope the final lost ep gets found soon!
Internet Archive is doomed. It's only a matter of time. Even if they somehow win this case or otherwise walk away with most of their records intact, multi-million dollar publishers can continue bringing suit after suit until the Archive is spent into nonexistence. And no, I'm not being "cynical". I'm being realistic. Once you know who has all the money, you can predict 99% of what happens next.
I remember watching Family Game Night all the time as a kid whether it was late at night or early in the morning and I didn't know it was lost. Thank you to all that took part in the search to bring this part most of my childhood back! Best of luck with finding the final three episodes!
i think you forgot to mention we just got the full lossless versions of Skrillex’s first experimental album “Bells” we’ve been looking for these for almost 15 years now. they were just found
I 100% wasn't expecting to see anything to do with the diamond brothers! I loved those books omg! I'd totally forgotten about them until you brought it up and now I need to buy some new copies!
It's so weird to hear that south by southeast was lost since family guy, the Simpsons, and a few others have done the scene with the plane flying and shooting over the corn field. I guess they could have been done with the source material of the books (which I didn't know existed), but who knows.
Internet Archive isn't getting taken down relax, IA themselves have said that lawsuit will only target their book-borrowing program and that none of their other services will be affected. So IA isn't going to just go away, so tired of people spreading that myth.
Yea but free access to books is massively important. It helps the people access books that otherwise they wouldnt. Also if IA loses this lawsuit it gives way for the rest of the website to be taken down due to preservation not being transformative. Which is the argument the current lawsuit is going after. So no this lawsuit most certainly does threaten the overall existence if IA in the future. This first lawsuit is gonna be the snowflake that forms the avalanche if not stopped.
@@smittzero8463 I disagree, they only did it because many libraries were closed due to COVID so they did it in order to help them out so people could read books without having to risk their lives. It should be noted that none of the authors under those publishers supported that lawsuit, this is just the publishers being greedy and the court decision has been appealed and will hopefully go through.
@@soulslvr9562 Not really no, them losing won't affect the rest of the site, they said so themselves. The other media they host on there is mostly lost media that isn't widely available elsewhere so it's unlikely anyone is going to sue over that, but because there were books by major publishers on there that made them an easy target. No it's threatening the existence of them, that's just fearmongering nonsense.
I remember this one game show that I can't find anything of where the only scene I remember was a woman had two briefcases with loads of money in them had to run from some dogs chasing her then climb a fence. I remember the set resembled that of a fancy house's yard, and the money may have been on a pedestal. The show was from around before 2015 but likely after 2011. I've been looking for this game show for years now with how it felt more intense than a typical game show.
Bro I used to love watching Family Game Night at my grandparents house, always wondered why anyone I talked to didn’t remember it, sucks to find out that the series was lost for such a while
I had no idea where that cartoon network basketball thing was from but I've seen the video of the old guy from courage playing basketball as part of the "wife just crashed the car, im fuming at the moment can't find the angry face emoji 🏀 🏀 " meme
Evangelion:3.33 You Can (Not) Redo.’s original theatrical FUNimation English dub was finally found too. It was found back in the beginning of March from a very rare DVD screener. For those not in the know, FUNimation fully redubbed with a different translation for the Blu-ray and DVD release under Studio Khara’s request. And then for the Amazon Prime Video release, Amazon Studios and Dubbing Brothers USA redubbed the first three films alongside the English dub of the final film. Making this the third dub of the third film.
It was surreal to hear about us Canal 5 peasants having had the privilege to watch these alternate endings. I had no idea they even existed. Props to whomever recorded them! This just reinforces my belief that recording anything you find enjoyable is a great archival endeavor. There have also been cases of lost media being hidden away in commercials blocks recorded and uploaded to YT. Keep hoardin'!
I saw someone commment on a forum that these last three months have been a lost TV media gold rush so to speak from 5obscure media to completely lost media to found after many years I totally agree with that statement I am hoping other categories get a rush like music
Damn, I used to watch Family Game Night sometimes. I didn't find it good enough to record tho lol... still, good luck to the search team. Hope the remaining episodes get found.
Space Monster Wangmagwi wasn't the first Kaiju film from Korea. That title went to the 1962 film Bulgasari, which is unfortunately considered lost media (and one of the most sought-after films in the Kaiju genre). Thought it is the oldest surviving Korean Kaiju film as of April 2023.
I watched Game of Life and Family Game Night a lot as a child. I didn't even know they were lost until a couple months ago. Glad they're finally close to being found.
I don't even have kids,i do have 2 young nephews though, and Bluey is one of my favorite modern cartoons. It is nice to see that the pilots were found.
The internet archive going down is that dire, if not more so as the library of alexandria was in a state of extreme disarray at the time of the burning
Hey. Last month a animation for the World Cup 1978 was recently found by someone that was lost media. It’s on RU-vid right now in very perfect quality. It’s a video about the mascot playing soccer or something . It’s pretty cool.
another lost media that was found in a really shady way: a lot of michael jackson demo songs surfaced in the internet thanks to someone who stole a laptop from someone who worked with mj on those songs.
Wait, Family Game Night was lost? I had no idea, I remember watching this On Demand so much as kid. That's crazy, wow I'm so glad it was found. I also remember Game of Life but for some reason recall it being a part of that show.
South by South East was my favourite book as a kid, and the fact that it got a TV Adaptation is INSANE. I NEED to grab a copy, but I can't seem to find it. Any idea where to look?
Holy crap I remember watching both Family Game Night and The Game of Life on The Hub Network. I didn’t know for a time that the episodes were lost but I’m glad most of the episodes are found.
I was so surprised when you mentioned family game night. I remember watching it with my cousin when I went over to his house, I even tried to convince him to sign me up for it once lol
