I remember being in the 99 cent store with my mom one day and seeing an old lady and singing this song. I remember thinking she would like it because it seemed old like her.
When I watched this episode for the first time, I was just a kid (probably around the same age as the ones in recess) and I don't think I thought much about it. Several years after I re-watched this episode, and it really hit me hard. I know it may sound too deep for just a cartoon, but this show makes me look back and think of the better/easier days.
every time i would hear this song, i would break down into silent tears because i lost my ghost friend eric at the age of 30 two nights ago due to a heart attack. he had a heart problem for years because he was obese, but he was a very good singer and was very gentle and kind with small children and animals. he was mostly like my mikey. rip eric. 1993-2023. i'll never forget ye.
