This is one of my favorite hymns.

Well I am anyway very pleased to live in a country where the society is so functional that I do not know any other country in the world which is more functional.

The Swedish and Norwegian (and problably also in the Czech Republic) society are indeed deeply influenced by the Christian tradition.

@lbputzer No, truth needs to be told. The remarks may seem 'mean' to you but the fact that your church continues to lose members at a rate of about 1,000 a week speaks for itself.

With the Episcopalians having an open door, perhaps the low number of 'non-white' clergy is a reflection more of cultural expression than a failure of the open door policy per se. The N American Episcopalians broadly follow a tradition that has its roots in England and the colonial era.

I'd suggest you contemplate: The thought that no river can rise higher than its source. Do you know the answers, all of 'em? It's a clinical fact 'believers' are less prone to mental illness. And what gives you the idea that Sweden, the Czech Republic and Norway are not deeply influenced by a shared European Christian tradition?

Neither should we ignore th Presiding Heretic's involvement in receiving a person that it has been proven she KNEW was a CHILD MOLESTER as an Episcopal priest. She should resign (but of course will not) although the Episcopal Church will not hold her accountable.

Mark is a bit harsh on the Episcopal Church here. Women used to wear hats to church so I guess it's logical that a "woman bishop" dons the mitre. But not for me though.

The Clergy recite the creeds with crossed fingers? You know that for sure? Get a life - the church and it's teachings will be here long after you've gone to where-ever you're destined to go.
