It was brought to my attention that checking the decibel levels inside was wrong. The readings should have been taken outside. So I have redone the decibel readings for the SC Project CRT exhaust outside for a more accurate reading.
Also, if you ever want to go on a trip to germany, give me a notice. We will take you out on a nice tour to the mountains we call "Harz". Well organise a Bike and a place to stay obviously. Youll love it. It will be riding, swimming in a crystal clear lake and bratwurst afterwards xD
Hey Dark Eagle, I hope you had a merry Christmas and happy new year. I just now saw your invitation. Sorry to say that I am unlikely to travel anywhere outside north America any time soon. I really don't like flying. The one exception I might make would be to go to the Isle of Mann maybe. If you ever find yourself in the sunny state of Florida or nearby, please do contact me though.
@@scottsspeedtriplechannel Ha !! Ha !! Of course i ride 2012 speed triple , all the after market parts as well and arrow exhaust ,great for the twisty roads where i live in New Zealand
I don't believe it is possible. Each headlight is a sealed/ one piece unit with non replaceable bulbs. One is for low beam and one is for highbeam. The low beam side does not change when the high beams are turned on, just the high beam side comes on also. So the only option to keep both headlights on would be to run high beams all the time. By the way, if a headlight goes out you must replace the entire headlight, not just the bulb. I am with you though, both headlights should be on. It doesn't seem right to me either. I notice a lot of bikes now with the same set up though. I have installed a set of driving lights that I use at night that add a couple more beams though. Thanks for taking the time to ask. I hope you are enjoying the videos.
Thank you so much for the video Scott, very usefull for me!❤ After a long hesitation, i finally got the Zard exhaust, dual pipes, wich is ok for French regulation, and i love the design😍 I posted a short video of it if you want to check it out. Thanks again✌🏾
Hi Scott, I see you are in Florida, initially I thought your speedo must display KPH, but I realise it's MPH in USA and I'm impressed at how quickly you hit 160mph. Here in New Zealand our open road max speed is 100KPH, and 140KPH (87.5) means goodbye license.
Sorry. It's cold and I entered the reply too quickly. I think some large western states have a few of the super long cross desert roads with no speed limit. I hear if you get stopped on those roads and the police are grumpy they will write you a "wasting of natural resources" ticket. Big speeds here are not necessarily a "lose your license" situation. You may get a big fine and you may go to jail. Repeat offenders will possibly get worse. My experience is that most police are pretty cool. Your attitude plays a big part. If you are responsible, don't run, don't lie to them and are willing to
be responsible for your actions, take the warning, ticket or advice seriously, most cops are pretty cool. That was the only time I've topped the bike out since I've had it. When I was younger, I would
run wide open all the time, and was an "habitual traffic offender". I'm older now, but still every once in a while say WTF. Thanks for commenting. I hope to hear from you again.
It burbles a little bit. I don't really notice when riding, only when I'm revving it up at idle. It didn't burble much at all when it had the OEM muffler on it.
Hey Scott, how are you doing? I am considering to buy this new 1200 Speedy, but one thing is keeping me of it as of yet. The thing I always loved about my old Street Triple was the sound, which was loud and with all kinds of pops and bangs when you got of the gas. I heard the new Speed 1200 live with the SC Project exhaust and it was really quiet and underwhelming, at least in the southern rev range in which i heard it. Have you had previeous expreriences with other Triumphs before your new 1200? How did they compare? Sadly I cannot test that in person because the dealers are selling their bikes almost exclusively with the standard exhaus. Greetings, Nico PS: As long as they remain affordable, I am also looking to buy a C6 Corvette. Facelift with the LS3 Engine. Maybe u got an opinion on that too. I would very much appreciate it ;)
I don't have any opinion on the Corvette. I've driven a few back in the 80's, and they were fast and fun; but I've never really been that into cars. As for the Speed Triple, I had an 07 Speed Triple that I bought brand new while working at a Triumph dealership. I kept it until about 6 months ago. (see "My Bikes" video) It was my favorite bike and I've had several other kinds of bikes. It had the signature "burble" on decel and it got more pronounced over the years. I never changed the mufflers. The 1200RS did have a mild burble stock, but it was barely noticeable. The SC Project exhaust makes the burble pretty good when dropping from revs higher than about 7 or 8,000. It's still not as pronounced as the old school Triple though.
Also I think if I had an ECU flash or tune done and removed or "healed" the exhaust valve that it would be much more like the older ones. I'll try to post something with a good sound clip of the deceleration side for you soon. Unfortunately, I don't get to ride as much as I'd like anymore. Thanks for being interested in my opinions. I'm glad to talk to you guys whenever I can. Happy Holidays.
@@scottsspeedtriplechannel happy holidays to you too. Don't bother with the sound video. A bike or car sound wayyyy different in person then on a vid. 😉
To be honest, I was expecting it to be lean at low rpms. I was expecting a bit of hesitation or a flat spot off idle. The first couple of rides after installing the CRT muffler I thought I noticed that a little. After a few weeks, I think I had maybe convinced myself that it was going to have flat spots Don't forget I am still utilizing the exhaust valve. I'm now not noticing any leanness off idle. I think it was just expectations. I am also just judging by the seat of my pants.
Hi Scott, I wondered if you had considered this muffler. Gives a nice clean look but I don't want to lose any power. I think it might be a Zard? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kIf3VOYoa7w.html
No. I am happy with the SC Project that I have now. I do like the looks, and I bet it sounds great. You probably wouldn't lose any power, but if it flows too much the fuel mapping might be a little lean at lower (maybe 6,000 and under) rpms. Older bikes with pipe and muffler changes used to generally shift the powerband up until properly remapped or rejetted in the case of carb bikes. Modern fuel injection can compensate pretty well.
@@scottsspeedtriplechannel Yes. by the way, my bike failed the first test because of 1 DB. It had 97 instead of the max 96, but you know how pedantic the germans can be xD The second test outside it scored 94 i think.
