In our house we used to call it pulikuzhambu. It’s Vaththal kuzhambu if you add any vaththal like manathakkali, sundakkai etc.. if you add vegetables it’s puli Kuzhambu. Love your recipes.

Mami, you are so. . cute. Thanks for uploading this video. I am also preparing in the same way , but I add only little bit Chana Dal and 1tsp.urad Dal. And one more thing, you forget to tell, when preparing vathakuzhambu, the gas flame should be LOW. Otherwise, the. Veggies we put in it, will not be cooked.

Thank you Mami, I have learned a lot from your style of cooking. I have a request can you also show us a few non garlic and onion dishes. My husband needs to know how tasty a dish can be without these two ingredients in fact without gram masala too.

Mami I loved your words, "vatta kozhamby en en kekkum" and "putting one more spoon oil for sandeham" 😄😄😄 Even I think vatta kozhambu means marthangali, chundakkai and may be parikka vattal added. Will try this. Once made, my daughter eats everything else by topping up with vattal kozhambu 😄 Don't mind asking, are you OK, you are panting and breathless while talking. Please take care 🙏🙏🙏

Th expression ,varhal kuzham bueen eennu ketkum, is a normal expression used by people of kumvakonam,thanja ur origin. " Sandehathu" is also another slang used by people of cauvery basin!

Super taste of vatthakuzhambu. My request is please specify the qty including water for 4persons/ or 6/or 8. I have prepared for 4people the qty is exhausted after first serve, because it is so tasty. Please reply if possible.

Amma, do you know any thickening agent which can be added to the kuzhambu? The rice flour slurry spoils the taste. But without any thickening agent, the consistency is still runny. I wanted it to be thick especially while making it with manathakkali out sundaikkai vathal Amma. Do you have any tips?

Amma, for manathakkali and sundaikkai vathal kuzhambu is there any difference in the procedure? Also when should the fried vathal be added? Should it be added in the beginning (where it boils along with the tamarind water) or should it be added in the end?

Add in tampering time it has to be fried after that add tamarind water rest of the things are same.

@@YogambalSundar Amma, the tempering should be done in the beginning no? Only after the tempering should the tamarind extract be added isn't it Amma? Amma, if the boiling is done for 20-25 minutes for manathakkali or sundaikkai vathakuzhambu, won't they get soggy?

Nothing will happen ma it will taste exotic just try and tell me the result but don't add to much sundakkai vathal because the kuzambu will become slightly bitter taste add only 2 tablespoons.

Maami drumstick vetha kuzhambu came nice. Thanks. But only if we make it with sundakkai or manathakkali etc my mother used to call it as vetha kuzhambu. For these vegetables she used to call it Arai (half) puli kuththina kuzhambu. In reality for this 50% extra tamarind is needed. So I used to pull her saying " Why dont you call it onearai (1 1/2) puli kuththina kuzhambu!!

Hi yoga mam..im from pune..out of curiosity I watched ur vattakozambu demo...n I must say it is d exact way in which.my mother taught me! vellam podatha pannave maattom any puli kozambu..(even mahsrashtrians r like dat..de too add jaggery for any puli gravy) So I will not mk any changes in my recipe now! Ur video was not very long or patience-testing , though u gave us sm amusing info! U spk so well n do u sing too?😃
