Great video but please lose the background music, it’s very distracting when you are hard of hearing.

Gratuitous background music is distracting even when you have normal hearing. There is no reason to have “background music” in segments where people speak.

So-ooo The big day/activation for ME is 7/21/23. Implant date was 6/13/23 and I am so thankful and appreciative that I have had NO pain whatsoever thus far! NO need for the painkillers. I slept through about 2 days after surgery easily. I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised and very excited. My status will be "bi-modal as I will wear a ReSound hearing aid on the left ear.Thanking Surgeon; Dr. Ronan Nazarian and the awesome team of people involved with my cochlear journey :)

I really didn't know what to expect and was honestly quietly anxious. At first I HEARD beeps, boops, and mechanical sounds and THEN WORDS!!! My audiologist sounded a little "artificial", but I was easily able to recognize the words he was saying. "HOUSTON WE HAVE LIFT OFF!" :) May activation day 2024 be the beginning of an awesome New Year for YOU! :)

She was likely hearing the reflections in the room. High frequencies are more directional and bounce off surfaces more readily than low frequencies, and she's hearing high freq. for the first time. That's the delay she's hearing, is the reverberation of sounds in the room. Interesting.

It is great what can be achieved with implants. My baby is one year old and he needs them, but in our country (Dominican Republic) they are very expensive, they do not have health insurance coverage and we do not have help. It is a dream for us that she can listen and speak.

She is very articulate for a deaf person. Did she lose her hearing gradually over time, or was she born deaf?

It amazes me that someone who has apparently been profoundly deaf talks like a normal hearing person? If you are deaf, how can you learn an accent? It doesn’t make sense to me, is this fake? Or recreation?

I am scheduled to receive my cochlear implant on September 24th, 2021. I cannot even imagine how it is going to feel on activation day. I’m crying with excitement thinking that I will soon get back some of my hearing. How have you progressed? Are you glad you had this done? Are you Single Sided deaf?

I just had my Cochlear Implant two weeks ago and I tested to see if the Kanso 2 would attach #4 magnet. Cannot feel any magnet pull. Cochlear representative said it takes several weeks for the swelling to go down. I do not feel any swelling. A paper click will not even stick. Has anyone experienced this?
