I'm collecting them az fast as I can. I got some rentals 2,000 miles away so I ended up with that Ryobi set. My rigid jigsaw broke so I figured Ill get Ryobi brushless. 9 days burned up 2, got my money back. During that time got a 18 guage ryobi nail gun. Yup, broke two, got my money back. Went Kobalt nailgun, and jigsaw. Mean, comfortable, solid. Rigid brushless sawzall batteries (two old school 18V) both died. Cheaper to get xtr drill and battery kit and a free sawzall. That xtr sawzall is AMAZING, no vibration, destroys everything. Love it. Kobalt is criminally underrated.
I love it. If I am not mistaken during the xtr kit unboxing, I swear the recipe saw was considered a wild card and not taken very seriously. I stumbled into xtr as a spontaneous purchase and will never look back.
Absolutely believe the results. Kobalt has the 1.25” stroke which makes a huge difference, and I’d compare the Hercules to TTI’s top Ridgid’s or Milwaukee Brushless non-Fuel M18 stuff, except for the ultra torque haha HF went hard on that one, on par with the 2767 except for length
I wish I had a lowes closer. It’s hard to switch from ryobi when I’ve got Home Depot under 9 minutes away. And a lowes about 30-45 min away. Great video!! I thought you did a great job making sure the testing was fair
Been running the Kobalt XTR heavily for months and she's an absolute beast. Ive removed two tree stumps buried in the ground over a foot in diameter with the 4 extended battery in a matter of minutes. Had to swap the battery for the last little bit but that was mostly for the small roots.
Unfortunately Ryobi just doesn't make a pro-grade sawzall. I have a brushless model that was their top-of-the-line a few years ago and I smoked it cutting tree roots. Ironically I also have one of their old bottom-of-the-line models that I got on clearance a few years ago for $15 and I really like it for light-duty work. I also have the Ryobi one-handed sawzall and I have to admit that it really surprised me at how powerful it is. That is a good saw. If I was still as active as I once was I would just bite the bullet and buy a new battery for my ancient Dewalt 18V. I love that saw. You did an excellent job with the split-screens. Thank you for your hard work and thank you for keeping the video kid friendly.
More pro contractors using brushless Ryobi. Sorry the home owner label on Ryobi is gone . Yes they still Cary home owner Verizon . But I see more Roybi tools on job sights than other brands. You can't beat the price on the new brushless line. I have been using mine 7 days a week no issues. I get more than I pay for and in most cases can buy 3 for the price of 2. I buy extra tools for the crew to use so I get huge savings . With long lasting tools. Haven't burned one out yet. Bought the brushless tools as they come out. Love them make me tons of cash. I do all kinds of jobs with them From the roof down gut re build. I have been at this game 30 yrs. I don't like to waste money on over priced tools for a name thet cut a second faster. You will burn out tools they don't last forever . How long they last to how much the cost a factor. I have used and owned them all . Now Roybi why price to quality. They burn out the same as better brands. But leave more profit in my pocket. Also you can buy more tools for less money. I go to work every day with 2000 pounds of tools that is not what I have in storage. So having the right tools requires many tools to get r done. Don't be a fool Andrew waste money name droping. Buy the tools you need at the price and quality level you can afford. If you over spend it takes yrs to make up that money.
Cool video thanks for posting. The Kobalt is fast and the Hercules seems ok but for the few seconds of additional speed from the two brands it's not enough for me to switch brands
Orbital doesn't make that much of difference I rather not have it on my saw because if you cut metal you can fuck the blade up or the cut because it will bounce around too much
The difference is orbital makes all the difference in the world. That's the only thing that is making me wait on a 2nd hercules sawsall to come out because im pretty it will have it. Don't get a saw without it.
Got the xtr today. Not sure if it was in orbital or not, but it got it done with no vibration. Spits on my rigid, and I have never used my ryobi sawzall.
Really wish Ryobi would stop making under-powered tools. It's across the board! "Surprising results?!" Not for me! Standardized on Ryobi's 18v. platform years ago and regret it. The problem? I have to drive 15 miles one-way, out of my way to visit the nearest Lowe's. Where I can buy Kobalt or Craftsman power-tools. Both better than Ryobi. But there are literally a dozen Home Depots that carry all sorts of Ryobi tools in my neck of the woods. (Including one _literally_ next door to my job!) Harbor Freight?.... All the ones around me got taken over by Home Depot. Not even joking. No, I'm done with under-powered Ryobi. Don't care how far I have to drive. Just need to decide if I'm standardizing on 20v. Craftsman or 24v. Kobalt. So sick of this.
The only question I have is, battery life. Kobalts not been known for battery life so yea it’s faster which might imply stronger BUT, at that speed, how do the batteries stack up for life…between charges and over all lifespan? About as fair as you can make a test. But it’s still my least favorite tool.
They all have the same Samsung lithium ion batteries in all three tools. I took my Milwaukee battery apart my kobalt and DeWalt all had same light blue / turquoise Samsung lithium-ion batteries in the battery packs
orbital mode on any recip saw barely makes a big of a difference. I've watched many videos on different brands and it's been proven again and again. it maybe a second difference in the two
I had high hopes for your video but Very distracting music for someone that has hearing problems. But i guess you guys don`t make videos for people like me .
Kobalt fucking sucks, I have to use that shit all day for work and ever tool burns the battery in 10 minutes, stops every 30 seconds, or just refuses to function altogether
