Shaykh Ayman is an excellent Tajwid teacher... Our religion doesn't allow us to disrespect anyone we disagree with, akhi, show some respect.

I've met Ibrahim Bakeer in person and have had lengthy discussions with him on this topic. On one hand he openly says that he's not an expert in tajwid and on another hand he's publicly disrespecting one of the greatest Qurra of our time. Not a celebrity, but a teacher of teachers. The teacher of experts, a reference for Qur'aa. On one hand you have Sheikh Ayman Swayd, a world renown authority in this science. A Muhaqqiq and reputable leading authority in Tajwid/Qira'at, respected by authorities of Serious Qurra all over the world. And on another hand, you have Bakeer. A tiktok and Instagram star, teaching fancy tunes. Stay in your lane brother. Be humble. You'd be lucky to get past your Sūrah Fatiha with even his students, let alone him.

I just saw the first 4 seconds and could not continue. You are in no position or knowledge to refute or challenge Sheikh Ayman Suwaid who's who is the greatest Quran Reciter in our time... We learned the correct recitation from the Qurra like him who received the Holy Quran from their sheikhs through unbroken chains to the Prophet Muhammad. Peace be upon him. He carries The highest Sanad in the world. So do I by Allah's blessings!. Our ancient scholars and current reliable scholars agree that violating the tajweed rules as the vast majority of reciters do when they apply, the musical melodies is forbidden.

The introduction of the video in its first few seconds was enough for me not to continue watching it because you are mocking our respectful teacher who has a great favor on all of the Muslims in this day and age through his special service to the science of the recitation of the Holy Quran....

It’s quite distasteful how this episode showcases utter disrespect towards one of the leading authorities & scholars in the field of Qirā’āt. To say that he’s not a Qari is an absurd statement. Tajwīd & Recitation are not mutually exclusive! Tajwīd is an issue of absolute necessity when reciting the Qur’ān as it was passed down by Oral Transmission! To equate Maqamat in the same way is a huge reach. He clearly hasn’t read Ibn al-Jazari’s Muqaddimah.

Salaam. I haven't finished watching the whole video but the translation of the brother at 19 minutes is incorrect. The shaykh Aymen they played didn't say do you think when Allah recites. He said do you think when Allah addresses his servants and says in the Quran (the verse) that it is meant to be recited with such a sing song style? Meaning he wasn't talking about sound coming from Allah and what it sounds like, and we seek refuge in Allah. But rather you as a Muslim should have respect for the words of Allah and recite it in a dignified manner. Not like a song. May Allah guide us to the truth.

I think the main problem with maqamaat is its relation to music which causes this issue to arise in the first place

Imam Bakeer has apologized to Shaykh Ayman on his instagram. He mentions he respects him very much and he was simply passionate about his stance on maqamat. He doesn't like how it came across on video and feels bad. He also apologized to the people for this video. It's simply a difference in opinion. We love Shaykh Ayman and Imam Bakeer. Allah guide us all and forgive us all.

This is a distasteful personal attack on one of the giants and stalwarts of our time in the science of tajweed. One has the right to disagree with Mashayikh as long as it is done with respect and supported by strong, valid academic points, not half-baked arguments and emotional rhetoric. First, he attacked the Shaikh’s aqeedah without understanding what Shaikh Ayman Hafidhahullah meant with his statement. Secondly, he tried to equate the importance of the art of maqamat with the science of tajweed and other respectable sciences like tafseer and hadith, which is an exaggerated comparison. Bakeer is trying to separate tajweed and recitation from each other when both are not mutually exclusive, as one of the other brothers mentioned. The Qurrā are dependent on the mujawwid and not the other way around. Also, when has imamat been a criterion for an individual to be an authority in the science of Qirā’āt? Rather, it is the knowledge and deep understanding of the subject that matters. He then had the audacity to attack Shaikh Ayman Hafidhahullah’s recitation, claiming people would leave the Quran if they heard it. Personally, I have benefited from Shaikh Ayman’s recitation, and thousands listen to it daily to perfect their own recitation. With all due respect, not many would be listening to Ibrahim Bakeer’s recitation to perfect theirs, he has much gunnah in his recitation where there isn’t a need for it, which is a fault in recitation. May Allah preserve Shaikh Ayman Hafidhahullah and continue to benefit the Ummah through his khidma.

Bakeer just released a phony apology. This is a fake apology. You are not correcting the statements that you made, you are only apologising for upsetting people and because you received a backlash. I didn’t just watch the clips and there are multiple mistakes, errors, false accusations and false claims that you make against sheikh Ayman. 1) You said that sheikh Ayman is just a tajweed teacher. Sheikh Ayman is a scholar of the Quranic sciences and has a PHD in the Qiraat. He has also studied other Islamic sciences. Unlike yourself. 2) you said that sheikh Ayman said Allah recites. This is a complete mistranslation. He said يخاطب which means to address. You then went on a ten minute rant about aqeedah whilst you are uneducated in this field and sheikh Ayman is more knowledgeable in aqeeda. Not to mention it was all a strawman argument anyway. 3) you said that sheikh aymans madd is wrong in يموسى when in fact he was just using the word as an example as the three madd tabii would be six harakat. He was just saying the word as this is his teaching style. When teaching not everything has to be said exact as it would be too time consuming. 4) your ignorance was extremely clear when you used sheikh minshawi and hussary as evidence. Who said they are evidence? Bring the scholars of tajweed and their works. Bring us the scholars of Quranic sciences. The opinions of mere reciters are nothing compared to the scholars of this science. 5) Your language and behaviour is unacceptable. Here your not apologising for your behaviour your only apologising because some people didn’t like it. There’s a difference. 6) When sheikh Ayman was saying “tik tak” it was to show that both are of equal length. What’s wrong with that? It’s his way of teaching. For you, someone who has no contribution to the Quranic sciences and its development to nitpick and mock these small matters is very distasteful. 7) you lack basic knowledge regarding the arguments made against maqamaat and what is meant by maqamaat in the fatwas and rulings you bought up. Even your understanding of bidah is flawed showing us you have little Islamic knowledge. Alhamdulillah that podcast is a clear burhan for all students of Quran to stay away from you and what you teach. Anyone who has gheera for the Quran and its study should stay far away from you. I hope this is a reminder for you to watch your tongue next time you disrespect our scholars. Respect is something that is shown not stated. Your disgusting actions speak the loudest. Remember you are just a reciter of the Quran, you stand on the shoulders of the scholars of the Quranic sciences. Be humble and stay in your lane.

Assalamu Alaikom. We need to hear a response from the page owner about the comments on this video. Brother Bakeer is a dear friend. I believe his passion for defending reciters and Qaris from many unjustified attacks in general made him come off as aggressive and disrespectful. I must respectfully say to my friend you are wrong to address Sheikh Ayman in this way. We need to be united and not attack each other like this. For one, Shaykh Ayman was not present to defend his position. Secondly, his words were not translated correctly. Third, Shaykh Ayman did not attack you in person like you did him. Fourth, believe it or not Shaykh Ayman is OK with maqamat as long as the tajweed is perfected and prioritized over the melody or tune. And Fifth, when Shaykh Ayman was describing how the verse is recommended to be read he said ( I don’t see it this way) meaning this is his opinion. Not fatwa. The prioritization of the maqamat and the over signifying of it is what is causing the issue here. I am one who has quite a bit of knowledge of the maqamat and I love the beautifying of the recitation and use of maqamat in Nasheed. But it is not a necessity. We can have beautiful recitation with basic maqam knowledge but we can’t have beautiful recitation without tajweed. Tajweed takes priority every time all the time. And with all honesty, I feel the focus on this topic at this time when we have everything going on in our umma is quite petty, weak, and disconnected. We are attacking and disrespecting each other over melodies and tunes ? When our brothers and sisters are going through extreme difficulties all over the world. Not a good representation of the topic of maqamat which I dearly love.

Imam Bakeer thank you for being a breath of fresh air and defending the school of maqamat. There isn't a person alive muslim or non muslim whose hearts aren't affected by this beautiful science. People need to relax and listen be okay with differences of opinions. The scholars of our past debated each other. He isn't being disrespectful, he has passion about something he gave his proofs for. Allah guide us all.

Imam Ibrahim has provided clear evidence that shows the existence of the science of maqamat in the recitation of the Noble Quran and this is also my opinion with which I agree, without ever forsaking the Science of tajweed which are the two complementary. There are people who disagree and probably have their proofs, may Allâh preserve you all, and respect is necessary. The point to be made is that you should have been more benevolent O noble Imam Ibrahim, may Allah preserve you, because then the message would have been more accepted by people, interested in the substance and not the form. I think it was your attraction to the defence of the qura and this noble science that caused this and I understand it. May Allah forgive anyone who reads this, and make us all people of the Quran, who are the people of Allâh, and who read this noble Book according to the sunnah of our master Muhammad ﷺ, and act in accordance with its teachings. Correct recitation is proven through the authentic chain of reciters from the prophet pbuh to the present. Sheick Ayman’s goal is to preserve the recitation as the prophet pbuh recited. Sheick Ayman’s rules and principles are derived from authentic narration of those who belong to that chain. The explain of the rule may not be found in the sunnah explicitly, but the rule itself is derived from the authentic chain of reciters all the way to the prophet pbuh. He makes dozens of errors just by reading the texts with which he argues... It greatly undermines his point. "Ibn AL-Qayyim AL-Jawziyya" (only one "al" in the last part if you mention the complete name), "Ibn Abi MALIKA" (it's Mulayka)...

Who are you to sheikh Ayman? If you could get ijazzah of juzz Amma from him, maybe you can start to talk about something. Even if he's wrong about this topic, still don't try to get cool and get attention. There are a lot of topics to talk about, aqidah, dawah etc.

When Ayman suwaid was saying that reciters like minshawi husary abdulbasit mustapha Ismael aren't reciting the Quran correctly nobody says he disrespect the best reciters of our time but everyone says he is being disrespected while he started it first, the only thing bakeer did that wasn't good is the manner he talked

The words used and emotions displayed were disgusting and horrible Speaking like that against probably the greatest Qari of our era who is known to many as the jazariyy al-asr. The explanation of the video didn’t make sense because the translation of the sheikh was incorrect! He didn’t say Allah recited.

A huge problem in this video is that you translated what the sheikh said wrongly. He didnt talk about how Allah recites, he said يخاطب which means speaking to. Now you made it a huge bidah and aqeedah issue and spoke with a lot of disrespect against the sheikh, may Allah guide you.

You will probably say you do not condone the disrespect towards Sh. Ayman, but I cannot fathom why you would use this distasteful content as the preview to your podcast. Is it that important for you that people watch your show? That you garner views at the expense of a great scholar of our times. Every student of knowledge, especially those in the field of tajwid & qir'at will find this extremely distasteful. Our tradition emphasises the etiquette of scholarly differences. We have good thought regarding Sheikh Ayman that he is from the people of Allah and his special people. Extremely hurtful to see our dear Sheikh being disrespected in such a way.

He said he is not Qari which is yes and he said he is a tajweed teacher which is also true dr ayman suwaid is the king of tajweed not some sheikh al qurra like husary, husary uses six to seven maqams in his recitation, it's only in seeka and kurd he doesn't recite but he uses all other 6 while he was called the sheikh of qurra at the time of many knowledgeable Qurras.

Advice for qari bakeer, stick to maqamat and reciting and keep your mouth shut when it comes to quranic science and aqeeda. The amount of blunders im hearing.

Compare the credentials of this man with Shaykh Ayman, he’s a nobody. If you knew the intricacies of Shaykh Aymans Quran and tajweed it would take you yourself a lot longer to get an ijaza from him compared to the ijaza you may have. His teachers were the exact same. So to belittle how him and his teachers and his teachers teachers who have preserved tajweed and Quran recitation more strictly than others is completely baffling to me, my teacher saw how brutal his intricacies and corrections are and gave him a reality check of how important tajweed is. Meanwhile you have Egyptian teachers using maqam in their recitation handing out ijaza like it’s nothing, holding barely any weight at all.
