Don’t act so surprised! This song was written by Gary Brooker with complete orchestra in mind, but when recorded in 1967, it was just band.

Gray Brooker left us on 19 Feb 2022. RIP Brother. This song is one of 42 singles that sold over 10 Million Copies. It's "A White R Shade of Pale" No Winter anywhere.

Gary Brooker (Procol Harum's lead singer) was 22 when "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" was released in 1967; he was 61 in this 2006 performance. Today, he's 76, still writing music, recording & putting out albums, and STILL TOURING. What gets me is how his voice has not changed since 1967. Listen to the original and see if you can hear much difference.

The first album I ever bought was by Procul Harum in the mid 70’s. I still love them and Gary’s voice ages like a fine wine. He just gets better and better.

Just watched the Angelina (who I subbed for) reaction and now I get this one!! I found this about a year ago and view it at least once a week. MASTERPIECE. Whoever arranged this is a genius. I get chills every time the woman with the mic appears and you really get the full force of the chorus. I got the single in 1967 and played it hundreds of times as a teenager and this is one of the best videos on YT. Gary Brooker's voice is even better 40 years later and he is still with us. I've seen videos of him as late as 2015 singing this. Your wife has excellent taste. Maybe she could appear with you on the next Angelina video, would love to get her take. Have a great day, Reckyj

Excellent performance. He's just as good as I remember him from my youth. He has aged much better than me and I'm 4 years his junior. They had been scheduled to tour prior to the pandemic and yes Gary Brooker is still singing.

Hey Recky, I'm just getting around to this reaction of yours and I've got some good news and some bad news. The good news is, that was a great reaction. The bad news is ... first, I tear up every time I hear this song and ... unfortunately, Gary Brooker died this year (Feb 19, 2022), from cancer. He was at his home in Surrey when he died. Fortunately for us, he left a few beautiful moments on film for us to remember him by.

Sadly I have to tell you Gary passed away in februari last year. I agree with you that he sings ten tmes better than on the first release in 1967. I turned ten that year so I guess I must have had quite an advanced taste in music for my age. For I really loved this song from the first time I heard it. And I still do!

You must have your's trained right, or maybe you just haven't looked behind your couch in a while. Mine does it just outside of the litter box, sometimes even when I'm standing right there.
