Thanks very helpful! Did this too, haven't played on the new antenna yet, but I get a full 3 bars line of sight at 420 ft away. I drilled a hole on the side as suggested in the video and used the included nuts to mount the antenna out the side, looks like it was meant to be and the wire is safe inside the case. Will be using it with the SimpleCoil app too.

I did this mod to my hub and found the outdoor range was hugely improved, but only at a park that had no other SSIDs on 2.4Ghz - around our home outside range is pretty much the same, but the connection is more stable. I did notice after the mod that the Recoil app has distances to crate drops all wrong, saying 999 feet away in any direction unless we go to the extreme edge of the hubs range. Hopefully the app gets another update soon, but for now Simplecoil is the way to go

I think this looks like a great and cheap mod. I am curious if you have designed the adapter model for 3D printing yet, I was thinking the same thing while watching before you said it. I think any gain in distance or reliability is worth it. Nice job.

About how far did your range change and want to see more so that I can upgrade mine.

All I could think as I was watching you: will any kids of this generation ever learn the skills you have? Before the video games/social media/smart phones addiction craze hit, there was TV addiction but eventually they’d get bored and want to do something else. Did you have electronics kits and chemistry sets etc? What kinds of activities did you do as a kid and did you have a dad or grandpa teaching you this stuff...or did you learn it as an adult? I know this stuff isn’t considered complicated by your standards but honestly, when will any of today’s kids learn how to do such things? I have a husband who never learned and doesn’t teach our boys how to do much. Re. the Recoil game/guns, I’m okay with it because it gets kids moving and is as close as my kids will be allowed to get to a first person shooter game. 😆 Thanks!

My hub does not even create WiFi, every time I try to connect it says no internet connection? Any suggestions
