Hi, I just subscribed to your channel. I'm friends with Dan from Off the Charts. I've been collecting Magnum for the last 15 years, great band... but I've been kind of buying the newer albums as they came out. I find they are kind of like Uriah Heep in that they're releasing some really strong stuff late in their career. I did manage to get a couple of their 80s albums a couple of years ago (one of them being the second one you were holding up) And luckily, HNE released a CD boxset last year that included their 4 or 5 first albums... really good stuff there too. And yeah, I'm still on CD :-) Anyway, now I need to get the stuff in the middle of their catalogue, from the 90s and early 2000s :-) Last but not least, Dan has told me you included a CD of the band Bulletbelt intended for me in a recent parcel you sent his way. Thank you very much, that is very very nice of you! I don't know that band, but I see you have an episode on them. So I will go and watch that episode to educate myself on Bulletbelt :-) Thanks again, and keep up the great work on this channel!
Hi Pascal!.I've seen you on Dans channel and heard about you. I appreciate you checking out my channel, Thanks for the sub!. I bought Magnums latest and had " Vigilante " to begin with. Slowly building a complete collection of their music, and yes their later catalogue is very good!. I will look out for that C.D boxset you mention. I know also from your vid. with Dan that you are a "Overkill " fan like me. So I thought you might like to try out a New Zealand band. Hope you like it. Thanks for commenting, and best wishes from New Zealand.
Hi Keith! I like that shirt! Armageddon sounds like that might be in my wheelhouse based on your description. I know the name Bobby Caldwell, and then you mentioned Captain Beyond, so from that band which I already knew. Coda is probably one of the only Led Zeppelin albums I don't have. I just never see it in the shops or at shows. I have a copy of King Crimson "Discipline" and I really like that period with Adrian Belew. Love that Jellyfish artwork on those 7" singles. ✌
Real Groovy records is a store in another town. They have been around for years, their old premises was a treasure trove of records. Its a shame Armageddon only put out one record because the band sound on fire. Pretty volitile bunch of guys probably so I guess the band was destined to implode. Great guitar sound. Cheers Mike, have yourself a great weekend.✌
They are probably VG+ , but the vinyl plays well. Looks like there is going to be two record fairs in my town coming up. So maybe some more record fair finds videos in future.Cheers for watching mate.🤘
None of the sellers had a lot of metal. I occasionally see a guy that has a lot of underground metal releases on cassette, but he was a no-show this time. I get a lot of 80's metal stuff from him as well. I enjoy the hunt!. Cheers for watching Anthony.🍻
Oh good see Jellyfish. Not many people show them. I went to see them in 1991 in Newcastle. They were fantastic. Very Beatles inspired. Never got into the following up album but Bellybutton is brilliant.
Yes, Mike. I think Jellyfish have a small cult following. Did not know they toured far and wide, great you caught them live. I think the lead singer did not like being the frontperson and that caused some issues. Bellybutton is a winner, I was surprised to find something from them at the record fair. Thanks for catching my video Mike!.
On paper I should not like Magnum. All keyboards and sugar harmonies. But they do it so brilliantly, they sound amazing. Really loving their records, do not know what else to say. Underated probably. Cheers for watching Kevin, hope all is good.
Listening to Armageddon now and really like it. Sweet find! I will get more into Magnum eventually but the size of their catalog is intimidating. I would say you don't need Coda, but I would be a hypocrite because I have it too, haha. Completism is a serious disease. Fun to see what you got, cheers Keith!
70's obscure hard rock and weird stuff from that period is another whole Rabbit-hole to dive into. I get the feeling Scott that you are diving into many other things at the same time. But awesome you gave Armageddon a listen. Many new bands are trying to make their music sound like these old heavy bands. Graveyard is one!. Also picked up another record from a band you know well.cheers Scott!
@@AttackFromDownunda You are right, trying to explore too much at the same time while also keeping up with new stuff and fitting in old favorites...not enough time in the day!
At the 6:58 mark, is there someone drilling in your house? Or is that the Zoom lens adjusting? LOL I think I have the same version of CODA also... :) I've never had a chance to get into Magnum... I will one day... my friend Pascal loves them!
I think that drilling noise is an alert from Instagram. Someone has posted their Vinyl of the day!. It emphasised whatever point I was making In the video! Wow this guy Is good, hes even editing in sound effects into his video.😄
