Getting into a good school, finding a good job or continuing a successful career can become nearly impossible with certain charges on your record. Even some of the smallest Class C misdemeanor infractions (such as an MIP, PI, DUI or disorderly conduct) will often have an enormous impact on a person’s life. With the ease and ability of electronic searches available to anyone, it’s extremely easy for potential employers, admission boards, co-workers, family and friends to conduct a thorough background search on a person in a matter of minutes.
If you were accused of a crime in Denton and believe you may be eligible for an order of non-disclosure or expunction, please contact Ross Law Offices, P.C., today to meet with an experienced Texas criminal defense lawyer. Call our office at 940-230-2413.

This was super easy to file by myself here in Denton county. The state did not disapprove, I didn’t have to submit any work information, and no hearing was requested. This was very cheap and fast, 1 month total process, and only cost me $350 out of pocket to file.

@@HTX-713_ class b misdemeanor that was eligible for nondisclosure. Texas law help is where I got all my info, they led me to a website that helped me digitally fill out my forms for free, then I just printed them out and took them to the county clerk. Filing fee was $350, I never paid a penny more and the courts were very eager. They told me their judge looks at easy small orders like that between his more serious cases and wants them off the record as quick as possible

@@HTX-713_ I don’t know if my last reply went through but it was a B misdemeanor. Texas Law Help was a website I used to look up info on a petition of nondisclosure. They then linked me to a website that asked a bunch of questions and pre filled a digital copy of what I needed for free, and I just had to print it out and file with the county clerk. The filing fee was the only money I had to pay, and I can pass any background check again.

It sounds like for "non-disclosure", one still has a criminal record? Only thing is the general public would not be able to look up the details? So it sounds like on any job application, a person with a non-disclosure would still have to check off "Yes" to having a criminal record. That don't sound like much help. Especially if one may be required to provide the hidden "non-disclosed" details of the criminal record on a job interview anyhow.

@@PointBlankProtection it depends on the state, In New York where I am you are legally allowed to say no, once your case has been sealed or charges dismissed and sealed.

I have a civil case and I was about.to request to transfer the final order and an sapcr case to florida and when I called the colling county Court, the clerk said the case was sealed. The judge signed the order to transfer and why did they seal it, or who sealed it while I was getting it transfered and already send the MO for transfer.

I have a Def. Felony Theft from 2007 on my record. No jail time, placed on PR Bond. (It's now 2021) I completed everything successfully, my 3yrs probation, fee's all paid, etc. No other charges or tickets since. I was told by my Lawyer that I could file for a Nondisclosure for free at the court but apparently it's not "Free". I called the court District Court Clerk & they told me it's over $300 to file here in Brazoria Co.& that I needed to make sure that I filed the Nondisclosure at the "correct" Court Clerk. Whether it be w/ the District Court Clerk or Reg. Court Clerk (I assume) My charge sheet shows "300 District Court" is where I pled guilty & was placed on 3yrs Def. Adj. The judge said on record at that time, once I Successfully completed my Defer. Adj. He would revert that plea to a Non Guilty plea but it still shows the same, 20yrs later. It shows Guilty of Theft, Deferred Adj. It doesn't even show "Dismissed", "Discharged" or anything. I'm filing for a Nondisclosure but I wanna make sure I fill out the paperwork as I should or the district clerk said I would be out of the $300+ dollars & the Nondisclosure would be throw out, basically.. hit me up in the messages. I would be happy to pay a little to someone to fill this paperwork out correctly & I'll go file at the appropriate Court Clerk's Office..

I filed my petition for a Non-disclosure to my local DA & the Court where my plea was held. It was "Granted & my Record Sealed" - very easy. However, you do have to pay to file for a Non-disclosure. Something they or my Attorney didn't tell me in my original court hearing or plea agreement 🤟

@@Mike_The_Hog_A_Nator unfortunately it will still be on your record and on background checks..only the general public won't see it.

Felonies in Texas are handled by the District Court, misdemeanors and traffic violations are handled by the County Court. Also, deferred adjudication can only be sealed (which means the public, employers, housing agencies, car dealerships) which means everyone but law enforcement and licensing agencies (like nursing , attorney, and DPS) can see it. It’s not perfect but it’s better than nothing. The one everyone wants is expungement, but that’s reserved for very few reasons. This guy is wrong, only law enforcement can know, once it’s sealed you can say it didn’t happen to the employers …. Unless you want a government job. But let’s say you got hired at coca-cola as a truck driver… they have no right to see your past.

If I went through a PTD and finished, would I be allowed to purchase a firearm? Would I need an expungement?

I have been trying to find out my self, I see you mentioned ptd and it caught my attention because I haven't seen any body else with this similar situation being so that it is not as common as other probation and deferred probation and what not, but was wondering if you happen to find out anything

Generally, yes, you would usually be able to purchase a firearm. But check with an attorney regarding the specifics of your case because it can depend on the original charge. 👍

If you successfully complete PTD and Expunge a case, does this mean you could never qualify again for PTD if faced with a case in the future? If all records are truly destroyed then I would assume you could qualify, but I doubt the probation office is going to destroy your history with them...-- Thank you!
@secretsoundz
@secretsoundz Год назад
Hey, I believe you can get one more and also, expungement isn't really expungement. They will tell you everything is destroyed and gone within 6 months to 1 year. But the federal government still has those records, they just tell you its been destroyed and won't share it.
