It's good to see you back on YT, Mark. You got some nice vinyl on Record Store Day. Like you, I picked up the Ringo and the Nuggets albums. I also bought Warren Zevon's The Wind, the Stone's Beggars Banquet, and Elton John's Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player.
I was considering Beggars banquet too but with everything else I got I figured I better stop there. I saw your video and that vinyl does look really cool though.
Hey Mark some nice pickups. The Nuggets box is the most interesting to me. Looks amazing. I don't recall any mention of a prospective volume 2. I have the 4 CD Rhino Box which included the original album on the first disc. So I'm curious how much of the rest of the box is included in this new set. It's certainly tempting but price will be a factor. Cheers,,👍
Yes...we missed you...but with a young family and work I understand. Glad you were able to get all you wanted. The Nugget set is very cool, I believe it's the same as the CD set I have. The rest are cool too. Have a great day . Take care
I was first in my line last Saturday and it was all Taylor Swift talk but I really didn't mind it and got quite educated. As a 56 year old, most around my age are massive Taylor haters. I personally have never heard any of her stuff but after the conversations I had even though I am not familiar with her stuff I gained a tremendous amount of respect for her. One young 18 year old said she loved Taylor Swift and wanted to get that, Carole King and Elton John and I thought if Taylor is inspiring the young ones to seek out other older songwriters and pushing the vinyl button, I sooooo applaud that. It was so so cool watching her and a few others so excited to get her album, calling their friends and taking selfies with the album. I said jokingly gee maybe I should grab a copy and they all said yes I should and then I thought yeah but what if I don't like it?? and they said you'll still make a profit with an open copy and for a split second I entertained the idea. However I couldn't do it as I knew I'd be breaking some young girl's heart by me being a dick so I said nahhh. This is time for the young ones to shine.
I picked up the Motley Crue Helter skelter picture disc and a paul McCartney all the best cd. ..I also got my wife a billy Joel 7 inch and a full cast recording of the wizard of oz on cd...all in all spent about 35 bucks
Mark, thanks for sharing...been reading "McCartney Legacy 1969-1973" LOADED with new info that we as Macca fans were not aware of, I suggest you get it , but I'm sure you already have it. Is this version of RRSW different than the Archive LP that came out a few years ago? I bought that one and also the "Alternative "RRSW> Not sure if this one if offering anything new? thanks and God bless !!
Yes I do have the McCartney Legacy book but I haven't had a chance to start reading it yet. As for this version of Red Rose they're is no new material or anything but it has been remastered at half speed which offers a better quality of sound on the record.
@@MarkP Make sure you give yourself PLENTY of time, you'll not want to put it down....I've read thru it once, and NOW want a notebook with me, for my 2nd read..it'll be filled!! okay, guess I do not understand the sound quality of this "remastered at half speed" I'm an amateur pianist, so maybe my ears can't detect what sounds good or better with this remastering process...with my poor finances Ill have to pass one this one. Looking forward to "Back to the Egg" and "London Town" archives, God Bless and thanks!!
