The Congos and the Son House might be the two best records in this video. I am also partial to Aerosmith and Saxon. Ha! Very cool you grabbed that Blue Ash!! It was a five dollar record for years, when I looked it up for the video, I couldn’t believe what some of those copies were going for! Check out the Rezillos online, it’s a good fun record! Thank you for making my decision for me! Watching this video while the cold wind whistles outside, thinking about waking up at 3 or 4am, driving 45 miles, finding parking, and standing outside for hours for the chance to buy the one copy available of an artist who hs been dead for years? This is the first time I've even been aware of Record Store Day, and I'd much rather make my own picks as you have. My local stores aren't participants, and one of them thought it was one of those holidays like "National Donut Day" or something. I just can't fathom having a herd of kids carelessly rampaging through treasures with their clumsy dirty kid hands to get a colored vinyl Taylor Swift record to play on their Walmart record player.

In 1970 they made theyr live debut at Marquee club in London under the name Queen..the story goes that a young Freddie Mercury barged in theyr wardrobe room after the concert claming he had plans about starting a band by the same name and a fistfight broke loose.. there excist photos of the bloody brawl . They changed theyr name to Hollywood brats , released 1 album only . Freddie got his will and the rest is glam rock history...
Hey Jonny! Yeah, great band!! Not the best in the world by a long stretch but a heckuva lot of fun! Casino Steele from that band went on to form the Boys, UK punk/ power pop band. And the Boys recut Sick On You, the H Brats best tune. I read the biography from the singer Andrew Matheson, can’t remember the title, but it was a great read and talked about the Freddie Mercury punch up!! Awesome RnR stuff! That Brats is so good. Think I'm gonna pull it out and spin it today. Give it time...a few of those may turn up as RSD albums for $40+ dollars at some point. They did already release the Aerosmiths for RSD, but that was back when you could get RSD titles for under $25.

There are still bargains to be had out there for sure! And heck yeah Heart Of The Congos is a must, I'm not gonna say for everybody, but for anyone with more than a casual interest in reggae - and it has been reissued so many times by now that it is easily available in some form or other. Haven't been to an RSD in years but there are usually one or two things that come out that I try and snag after the fact, I think such is the case again for this one. Not a fan of the crowds, lining up or the odds of finding those one or two specific pieces in my local shops by the time I get there, however! Cheers Jon!

Wow! I've never seen a Brats record in the wild! I've got some of their stuff on Mercyful Fate digipaks. I'm shocked to this day that this band wasn't capitalized on in the 90's or late 80's due to King Diamond's rise to fame in the U.S. I've seen Alice Cooper more times than I can count and have never once seen him perform "Clones". Just once, I'd like to see that song done live. Son House? You're preaching to the choir. Up there with Muddy Waters or Howling Wolf. Thanks for the update and salute!

I literally just ordered an original of that Rezillos album right before watching this ha ha! I think dead moon where from Oregon, my guitar teacher played with them a lot and was friends with Fred and his wife Toody. Obviously Fred passed away, and troody is somewhat reclusive now. But every thing Fred cole was involved in is amazing in my opinion. Great video!

I've never been to a record store day nor do I think I own any RSD records either. For one thing I ain't a fan of lineups and crowds anymore. For another I always thought most of the product a scam at 20 and 30 dollars... That broken English for under $10 is a score if you don't have it. So long as it sounds good that is. Same with the Son House record, a steal at any price. Sounds like the prices have come down. I just might pay attention from now on.
Bobby, none of these records are RSD titles. That was my point. I am in total agreement with your statement. There are tons of good records available every day of the week at decent prices. Don’t get caught up in the hype that record store day titles are all worth the wait and the money. Cheers!!

Getting ready for RSD here in Europe! These titles are totally different from the ones we are getting; not one is on the list over here. And I am baffled by the prices You mention. Over here RSD-releases are like 30-50 for a single record!

Frank, I’m sure you are correct. I didn’t prepare much for this video. Grabbed a bunch of common records I’ve had for years and looked them up quickly. I saw there was hundreds of that Numan album available on the internet. I underestimated the price. The Deep Purple I didn’t look up, my wife left it on the couch so I threw it in the video last second. Crazy if Deep Purple albums are going for over $20. Their used studio albums were bargain bin material my whole life. I hope you understood the point I was trying to make about RSD even if some of my facts were wrong. Thanks for watching Frank! I don't think I can argue Rocks is the best Aerosmith album... Budokah would almost be all that you need from Cheap Trick. You know, I should have snagged those Twisted Sister albums in the 90s where they were everywhere - you can't find them anymore.
Yeah Kris, it’s crazy how all those platinum selling records by Twisted Sister, Bon Jovi, Quiet Riot have disappeared, yet 30 years ago all the big selling records of the previous generation like the Dave Clark Five, Gerry & Pacemakers etc were everywhere. I'm glad the RSD prices have gotten so much more reasonable this year. Even better now they stopped all the 180 gram and I can finally pick things up on Dynaflex.
