Record Store Day Black Friday 2023 - Interesting Titles / My Picks 

I backed the Kickstarter for the Gram Parsons release, I'm getting pretty excited to see the finished product.

Hey Bret. I see a lot of Live albums on this RSD/BF. I am going to nab Ultravox’s Quartet, judgment night soundtrack and Oscar Peterson Trio’s Con Alma and I’m sure there will be some impulse buys. The cure’s Paris would be an absolute must whenever that gets reissued.

I don’t sweat the RSD first releases. The Faces BBC recordings is the big want for me.

Hi Bret, I combed through the list and found very little if anything I would feel compelled to pick up, so Black Friday probably won't be spent at a record store for me. I may try to get the Beach Boy's Christmas album though just for the holidays, that's always a fun listen. I wouldn't say that's essential though and I think older copies are still very reasonably priced. We are getting to a point with new released vinyl that I feel I have to be very selective on what I purchase. You touched on this well in this video, but I work just too dang hard to spend $40 on a record and $60 (and up) for a double album. It's gotten to the point where I just purchase a fraction of things I used to, BUT I'm always looking for great used records and still discovering things from the past that I missed. RSD has just gotten very very expensive, to the point where if I don't absolutely feel it's necessary for my collection, I pass and spend my money on other records throughout the year. So yeah pretty much your sentiments in the video, I'm just echoing them. But I'm right there with you! I need to sit down and watch your Smashing Pumpkins ranking but it's EPIC and I'll probably have to take it in in small doses. I hope you are doing well.

Thanks Bret, the Gil Evans record seems cool since Kevin Grey did the mastering. Might get that. Also the Colourfield and Asteroid City records seem fun, those are maybe's :]
