I finally found this episode thanks to random recommendations from SotC of all LPs, and now I need to rewatch 4Swords again now that I know Stephen a little bit better . . .it will be even more amazing than the first time.

+segaspamer64 To be fair, Gamecubes were DIRT cheap 3-5 years ago. I got my 2 back-ups for $5 each, and they worked perfect.

+segaspamer64 it took me so long to find one gamecube and he just pulls out four like its no big deal

+segaspamer64 I thought it was clear from the video, but Jon, Tim and myself each brought a GameCube and GameBoy Player. We also had our own laptops and capture devices, and brought some extra cables as well (GBA to GCN link cables, etc). The setup for this LP requires a ton of equipment, and it's more easily accessible when multiple people bring a few things each.

I don't think they do right now. Masae has a bunch of pets like birds that never show up when visiting Emile. That and on a Gamexplain discussion, I think she mentioned living with her parents. I could be wrong though.

I can't wait either. I love it when TRG has guests, and Stephen is a pretty cool and funny co-op dude. And while Stephen and Emile have done a few, very funny videos, none to this scale. I'm also waiting to see his interactions with Tim and Jon as I don't think they've recorded videos together.

+Aros Uken When a Gameboy Player is hooked up to a GameCube, the GameCube essentially becomes a Gameboy Advance. Generally when you play Four Swords Adventures, you'd hook Gameboy Advances into the controller ports of the Gamecube/Wii playing the game (Four Swords shipped with a special GCN to GBA cable for this). However, you can also plug the GBA side of that cable into the Gameboy Player itself, turning a second GameCube into a GBA for use with the game (at that point, a normal GCN controller plugged into port 1 will function as the controller). The advantage is that the GameCube with the Gameboy Player can now be captured using normal capture hardware (something that's not easy to do with a Gameboy Advance). Repeat 4 times and you've got 4 GameCubes (with Gameboy Players) hooked into each controller port of a Wii (running Four Swords) using the GCN to GBA cables, with each GameCube (and the Wii) being captured separately. It's a beast, but it's doable.

And that's how they managed to record the GBA screens in addition to the main screen.

That's how they do things on TRG, they record in super-bulk to be released at a later date. Because of this, the fact that they live in different places doesn't change the amount of content they put out, plus it makes Emile's job of editing the stuff for TRG manageable while creating content for his own channel.
