Thanks sir, for the wonderful technique. Earlier I used to recover with creating the snapshot> Creating the AMI> Then launching with New Key pair. This is quick solution. Thanks once again for such a informative video.

Yep, we have another demonstration with that technique, but found this was quite easier with the same result.

hi, is the process same if the server is in private subnet and doesnt have a public ip? I am using a bastion host to ssh to the private server for which I lost the private key.

When I create a new instance "Key Recovery" I can attach the volume and access it as secondary volume with the recovery instance. Whenever I try to add the volume back to the "Original" server, I can not access it anymore. That is very strange :-/ I also tried to copy the user data/key with your script to the original server. Nothing works. Btw. In 2020 AWS keys are so annoying.

while you running the instance it will shows the an error like dev/sda1 or sda2 change name while you attaching the volume change to sda1

Where i can find all other commands Except that authorized key,, that all you paste in user data of lostkey instance. I tried 2-3 steps but in mounting time or like here it gets wrong. PLZZ suggest..
