Congratulations!!! I remember when I found mine… I did the happy dance for days. Go back to that spot and look for the matching box plate. I found mine about 25 ft from the breast plate.

Awesome find on breast plate. I found 2 in my front yard but that being said they are smashed up pretty bad but can still see the eagle and arrows. I'm in VA not far from Petersburg major battles so I wasn't too shocked to find one but still was crazy excited like your father was. Congratulations again and keep digging them treasures.

I collect eagles. So to find an Eagle Breast plate made it surreal. Now I can find my buckles. Or I'd take a couple more plates as well. And no mint mark on the Merc. But it was certainly a rush as we cleaned it. But me. I would have kept it with the rest of my awesome dug coins. Thanks for taking the time to watch our video. Much appreciated.

Now you need to go back out to that spot, and see if you can find the belt buckle and cartridge box plate to complete the set. That was a Union breastplate btw, so the box plate and buckle have to be there somewhere.

Oh that would be so cool. They are high on my bucket list. After talking to some locals. They said at one point in time there use to be an old house there. That was torn down 30-40 years ago. My uncle said he found a breast plate just like mine just out the road. So leads me to believe it was more than just an old home site. But very interesting. We have hammered that place pretty good. The sad part is on the right side. It is now a graveyard. So our search is limited to say the least thanks for watching and the comment

Yes. It was part of their uniform. It hung down across their chest. A lot of soldiers threw them away. Felt they were like bullseye on their chest

And I stayed even further up for a few months just below the mountains, and the wind was out of control. I think it was 50 mph winds but I'll have to double check. For L.A that is insane.

I would hope the location would be redcorded, and the army units that were there during the war, will be researched including the breast plates they wore.

We think those may have been an old home site. Probably was lost in the rubble of an old house. There was some troop activity in the area. But not a lot. That is the only thing that was found there pertaining to the civil war. Mostly home, and farming pieces.

But make sure you look over the app. You will have to make a purchase in order to overlay. But some areas don't have the overlay capabilities. It is GAIA GPS app

I am not trying to be rude nor am I trying to be accusatory.When a person finds a belt buckle or buttons usually that mean's you are desicrating a grave site.Yes the organic remains are gone. But it is still a grave.When I was new to metal detecting and I realized this I reburied those belt buckles and buttons.I am sure others came after me and dug up those artifacts but I honor those men no matter which side they fought on..

I think you could be wrong on your process of thinking on this one. This one was marked on our maps as an old homesite. So my guess was left in an old homesite when it fell down or maybe even some of it destroyed by fire. But understand your thought process. Swing on!

@@AquaLandRelics I live in Chesapeake , Virginia. When traveling throughout the countryside of Va., and N.C. you can see old homes just let go, but a newer home on the same property. Some years back at a local park here in Chesapeake some Boy Scouts were going through and old foundation of a colonial log home that was left to disintegrate in the late 1800s and found evidence that it dated to the mid to late 1600s. You'll never know what you'll find unless you look. We are the site of the Battle of Great Bridge. Thanks for the quick reply.

Lots of chatter on my simplex! Had it about 2 weeks. Is that normal?

Yes kinda sorta normal. It's a very sensitive machine. So with that sometimes you get some extra chatter. Have you tried dropping the sensitivity on or two bars. Make sure you have it ground balanced as well. And could depend on the soil as well. But I have notice it does well around power lines. My at pro chatters alot where I found the eagle breast plate. But the simplex has no issues. Keep me informed if the drop of sensitivity helps u any. Good luck

@@donaldtalbot5902 well by no means is it an Etrac. But what it is, is a great machine for its price. No machine in my opinion in that price range and all it has to over and their customer service can even come close to the simplex. Hang in there. I left the Garrett at pro. I thought the simplex would be gravy to learn. It took me a good two months before I became pretty confident with it. Now I hardly ever use the Garrett. In our next video I use it just because I was feeling like an At pro kinda day. Lol

We have found a pile of coins in old Civil War encampments that date to the time of civil war. Some even older. We have found one Belgium boot pistol last year which was pretty cool. But unfortunately no muskets. But we don't sell any of our civil war finds. Not saying that one day It may happen. But as of now we don't. Thanks for watching
