Watching this again after quitting. Man, that was a rough ride. I hope if someone reads this that’s taking Kratom, please stop if it’s not working for you. I feel sooooo much better after quitting. I feel whole again. I am actually happy. It’s no longer a fake happy from a plant that only lasts 20 min. Please make the jump. The withdrawals are bad, but only the first few days and it’s totally over in 2-3 weeks. Good luck

I am on day 10. So much better still wake up at night at least once or twice. But getting much better sleep and the cold and hot flashes are completely gone. The mental withdraws and cravings are the worst part for me. I have realized how much of an addict I have became for just wanting, or needing something to help me get through my day. I also quit nicotine cold turkey. Nicotine was far easier to quit. Just stick with Jesus, and walk the straight and narrow and remember the reasons why you quit, also the goals. Keep trucking, it’s just gets better, and better. Started working out yesterday and honestly the pain in the muscles helps me get through the day lol it releases endorphins and lessens depression. God bless y’all, don’t give up you matter and are important!

@justinwalker5441 hit the gym if you aren't already, I can't stress enough how much easier the gym has made this process for me. Going on 2 weeks almost and feel pretty normal, also have had little to no cravings since I got in the gym.

I quit Kratom two months ago . I was doing about 50gpd and was using for YEARS . I felt so out of control I couldn’t stop. I have that weird staining on my face and I was so self conscious yet continued . Finally I had enough . The first month was extremely hard mainly because I had no energy at all . But I am finally feeling great and slowly my skin is getting better . Anyone who wants to quit you can do it! I am so weak of will power usually but I had enough . Go for it, you will feel so much better .

I was addicted to Kratom for 7 years, I took 3-4 grams EVERY HOUR, EVERY DAY… 16 days ago I finally went over the line of “I’m so sick of this addiction/lifestyle and I want to change” so I finally started the journey of intense withdrawals. I am still not feeling 100% yet, but I do feel much better than I did 2 weeks ago. KRATOM IS ADDICTIVE! I don’t care what anyone says. It’s literally just like taking OxyContin. With that said, if someone who is addicted to pain killers/heroin, kratom can definitely help them get off those more deadly drugs. But all in all it’s just another addiction to quit… Kratom is even more of the devil though because it’s legal and you can just buy it at the store. That’s why it’s such a ridiculous plant. I pray for ALL people who are addicted to whatever they may be addicted to. You are loved!

Thank you so much for making this video. I’m about a month into Kratom and I’m starting to have problems with retaining water, mainly in my feet. Thank you again for making this video, and for the idiots out there, THIS MAN IS TELLING HIS STORY! He doesn’t look or sound like DEA to me! God Bless sir, I’m convinced that my swelling issues are from Kratom. I’m 31 years old and started taking it for pain as I was scared of the pain killers. Turns out for me this plant is too good to be true. This is about harm reduction and having all the facts before you take ANYTHING! I don’t think the government should be deciding on any level what we, as adults, put in our own bodies. BIG BUT though, we should have accurate information on these plants and substances so we can be informed and make smart decisions on anything we take. Thanks again sir, I will take your advice at a month into this Kratom, I am quitting cold turkey. I agree it shouldn’t be illegal because of my libertarian beliefs, but shame on the people for trying to shut your speech down. If you don’t take anything away from this video, you weren’t listening.

Exoman does cover many points folks should think about before they try Kratom. Personally, Kratom has absolutely "saved my life!" For the last year I have been taking 6 grams White vein once each morning to help keep my pain at a level I can live with. I'm 76 so likely will not be on Mother Earth many more years and Kratom has taken my pain (from for me) from a level 7 to a level 2 to 3. Yes,, my Doctor knows I take Kratom and she does not approve but this is my body and I am the one with the pain. I might be addicted,, likely I am BUT I really don't care.

I wish you all the best and I am sorry for your pain. This was never about autonomy for me and there was never any question with whether or not it is great for pain. The problem in the effect of the addiction for me and many others is that I reached a point where I started having terrible symptoms while still using it. I began having serious breathing issues and RLS.

I was introduced to kratom 4 years ago by a RU-vid video. The guy in the vid said it wasn't addictive, it is. This was in 2017, I've used it everyday since. I'm currently tapering down. It has disrupted my life. I have CALM Magnesium and Agametine arriving today for withdrawal. I learned about that from another RU-vid. I want out of this. I was a heroin addict from 2000 to 2015. I'm still clean. Kratom is much safer than heroin. If used correctly, Kratom is medicine. However, it has driven a wedge in my life. I can't wait to get off. Plus, to hell with the folks who attack those of us that are not in denial about Kratom. Kratom is addictive.

Been addicted to Kratom for six years and I’m just now taking a serious break. Last week I got the call that my dad had a stroke, so my brother and I drove out of state to see him. Now we’re in a state where Kratom is illegal and I’m running out fast. I only take a small amount before bed and when I wake up. The rest of the day my back is severely aching, my legs are restless and my mind is just desperate for peace. Sleeping at the hospital with my dad and going through these withdrawals has been a major wake up call. Kratom has helped me over the years, but unfortunately I am an addict and it’s very difficult to consume in moderation.

@nickh3279
@nickh3279 Год назад
@exoman thats part of it. The rest is that you are talking about a large population of severe chronic pain suffers, who rely on this plant for their quality of life. If used responsibly, it can truly be a blessing. When the government and research agencies lie and overexxaggerate, the natural reaction is to lose trust in those studies and stand firm on your own personal experience. Which, from many, is nothing but positive. This *should not be used as a recreational drug* , but neither should pain pills. They have their place, as does Kratom. & this is coming from an individual who got addicted to street pills & powder just trying to find relief, and fell down the rabbit hole. Kratom saved my quality of life, but more importantly, it helps me actually function while with my 1 year old, versus being stuck to the couch. I'm sure he used to think daddy didn't want to play with him. I can bare my pain just enough to do so with low doses of Kratom once or twice a day, and I have nerve damage. That's what Kratom can do. Edit - corrected my wording

@@exomanI was one of them. Back in 2016-2017 when I first started taking kratom to get off of a xanax and percocet addiction, I swore by it. Here I am 8 years later, up to 60 grams per day every day, being so zombified I've been stagnant and getting nothing done for nearly a decade, i couldn't even properly mourn the death of my dog of 12 years or the ending of a 5 year relationship because of it. I want to write down my feelings but I legitimately can't even hardly think due to it. Can't function mentally on it, yet can't function when I got a few hours without it too. I go 6 hours without taking it and I'm extremely restless, dizzy, mentally foggy, and feel like garbage in my stomach and body. I want to taper down and stop now. The effects it's had on my libido, my weight, my body in general, my mind, its just hell. Thing is, I haven't even had any of the feel good effects from it in about 4 years. Literally just taking it out of habit and to avoid withdrawal..

Thank you so much for your videos, you are awesome. I started taking Kratom 2 years ago after some guys at work recommended it. Our job was very physical. They sold me on how it was legal and natural etc. I was taking around 8 ibuprofens a day at the time because I had my right foot was shattered by a IED in Iraq in 2007 and it always ached. The Kratom worked immediately, I only needed to take a small amount of it I was able to drop the ibuprofen completely. After 2 years I found I needed to take more and more kratom to have the same effect, so I decided to quit CT 3 weeks ago. It's been a way harder process than I expected. At the end I was only taking ten grams a day, but I think because of the amount of time and consistency I was taking it has made this process very painful. Of all the advice I have used through research I have found vitamin C, light yard work and hot/cold showers are the most beneficial. I'm in between jobs now. I'm going to look for a less physical job where coffee and a couple of ibuprofens are all I need to get through a long day lol. Take care and God Bless

Kratom first saved my life, and then ruined it again. I’m grateful it was a way for me to get off Heroin and then Suboxone, but then started the intense Kratom addiction at the end of 2017. 5 years of massive daily use, I mean I was taking A LOT, chasing the high at night. If I took a massive amount it felt just like heroin. Then I was also drinking on top of it cuz I wanted to actually feel emotions again and let go. Can’t believe I didn’t die, but I’m almost 90 days out of rehab and I’m okay. Still can’t sleep well some nights but many days I’m feeling just fine. I’m surprised it hasn’t been worse honestly.

If you know about its dangers and use it responsibly, I'd say the risk of Kratom is quite manageable, at least for me. Of course, the first rule is: Be mindful the addiction risk, don't let it become a habit. Don't use daily. I've heard many stories of people who got addicted. I don't remember anyone saying "yes, I was aware of the addiction risk going in, but got addicted anyway.". So if you know the risk, it isn't difficult to avoid. I've bought a 100g bag some months ago, and I am using some 3-4g of it once every few weeks for some mildly pleasant feeling. The bag is still more than half full. But, well, maybe things would be different if Kratom would give me a super pleasant high, like MDMA. But even for MDMA, not getting addicted isn't that difficult. When you are aware that you have to wait at least 6 weeks in between sessions for your brain health (and also in order not to loose the magic of MDMA), when you know that using more frequently carries a significant risk, it really doesn't feel challenging at all, to observe this rule.

Every drug reacts differently to every person. I think the main issue is the huge list of benefits at the beginning it's a godsend. There's a huge list of benefits and almost no negatives. The negatives don't kick in until you start regular dosing or multiple times a day. Slowly they'll creep in. If I could recommend one thing it would be the first time you have serious constipation it's time to take a break. Once you have to take regular stool softeners or fiber pills lay off. Rotate in another pain killer or another sleep aid. Absolutely do not use for recreation regularly.

No problems skipping days or even weeks. The biggest secret, it is good for use in getting off more dangerous drugs. But as you said, if the government gets involved, it will be made illegal OTC and will be scheduled like methadone. Then the addicts will go to the illegal trade for purchase, which is susceptible to being laced with worse things. What's the answer? Great, well-balanced video.

I made the decision to taper off yesterday and everything else I’ve quit I have quit cold turkey but this scares me too much to do that. I’m worried about taking another route to quitting than I have done for other things but I think I have the discipline for it and I really need to be functional through this. I’ve been sober from alcohol and coke for 2 and a half years and the physical withdrawals are worse than when I quit those other things, it’s actually kind of similar to withdrawing from coke, the flu like feeling but it’s worse because of the impending doom you feel. If you’re just starting taking kratom use your best judgement and leave it alone if you have ever had any kind of substance issue.

Kratom IS addictive if you are an everyday user. It bothers me when someone states that it is safe as coffee. There are a number of caffeine deaths each year, but because we glorify caffeinated beverages is isn't mentioned. People who use kratom need to be responsible with it. The side effects seem to vary. I know someone who quit because it caused hallucinations. For me, I have used it for a number of years and do deal with withdrawal symptoms. It seems that some strains are worse than others when it comes to withdrawal symptoms. I use it to increase work output and reduce pain, but I always am monitoring any reactions I have to it. It seems there is no "perfect " medication that has no problems, so it should always be up to us, not government, after all, the government could screw up a wet dream.
@exoman
@exoman 2 года назад
Great comment and yes to NO nanny state. Let me address the caffeine deaths you mentioned. You can over-train and die from drinking ice water. I would caution you not to get caught up in that nonsense. One of my favorite herbs for energy was the ma-huang root. Used responsibly it had amazing benefits but the caplet form we used in the 90's was banned because young high-school athletes where taking like 20 caplets and putting all that gear on and doing rigorous training in the hot Georgia sunshine. One or two of them had heart attacks because of this foolishness and the Gov stepped in and banned it for 7 billion people. It is the same with these caffeinated energy drinks, just like alcohol. To much of anything can kill you. Too much food suddenly after a fast can kill you. So I think that caffeine-death anecdote needs to have some background info. Chalking it up to "caffeine glorification" excuses stupidity and is an incitement on people like me who sell coffee. Kind of the opposite of the rest if what you are saying about autonomy right?

It's interesting how closely my experience with kratom mirrors yours. I started taking kratom to actually help with restless legs that I have because of iron and dopamine deficiency. I loved the euphoria because I also had depression not related to kratom. I took it for five years. I slowly became angry, agitated, anhedonic, and impotent. I was a total pig with kratom, taking up to 30 grams daily. I was also a bit in denial that I was addicted to a drug. It was a "natural supplement," not a drug, I tried to rationalize to myself. At a certain point, I realized I had to get off this substance, and I tapered for about a month. The withdrawal was hell: suicidality, sweating, chills, diarrhea, vomiting, severe rls, and insomnia. Finally, the withdrawal subsided, and I've never returned to it since 2019. Certain people online are very aggressive when you challenge their narrative that kratom isn't completely harmless. But, I do think that is changing now that more people have been exposed to it. Back when I was quitting in 2019, none of the doctors I spoke to had even heard of kratom. But, now I occasionally see medical research articles about it.

I’m a alcoholic, majorly depressed before I became one also . Kratom is all that helped but like I mentioned after a short time , I’d wake up from stopping breathing when I’d sleep . Scary stuff . It had be off booze for a month , then I started getting bad panic attacks , weird hallucinations when falling asleep, then the breathing problem . Can barely drink coffee, hard to deal with life without anything .

How much were you taking? exactly… among people I know who take more than 20-30gpd end up having lots of problems. Testosterone in men, acne, hair loss etc. But of you can have discipline and an ounce of self control it can be a life saver. I recommend only taking 2-3 grams max 1-2x daily so no more than 4-6gpd for most people. Maybe 10-15 for power with severe Pain but if you take 10x the recommendation of course you will have issues. It’s like the difference between someone whom has 1 beer per day can 10 beers per day every day. Big difference..

@CaliforniaCardsmith The best way to take Kratom to avoid having any issues is to restrict yourself to only a couple times a week. Kratom is a wonderful plant, but it must be respected like anything else. People think you should be able to take it all day every day and that's not so. Just like you can't drink all day long, you can't take Kratom all day.

Turns out my immune system confused thyroid cells with the gluten structure. At 76 years old I do not intend stopping my use of Kratom BUT on those points you mention I so agree. Respect Kratom and do your best to ingest Kratom for the purpose intended. Especially important is knowing damn well the vendors reputation for selling only the highest uality product. There are so many untrustworthy vendors a person needs to do your research before you choose a vendor. I've been taking 6 grams White vein in warm OJ once each morning for my pain from numerous surgeries I've had over the years, knee replacement, two cervical fusions, surgeries on my arms,, on and on BUT once I started taking Kratom my pain is now at a manageable, I can live with it level. At 76 years old I do not intend stopping Kratom,, most likely the remaining years I am on planet Earth.

Ppl don’t realize that Kratom doesn’t simply act like an opiate but that it also acts like a stimulant and most importantly, it’s acts as an SSRI!!! This is why the wd is NOT as simple as a week long opiate wd… it comes with psychological symptoms that don’t typically show up til day 6/7 of wd and last 7-14 days or longer AFTER the first initial wk of opiate like wd

Kratom made me a fiend. I was hopelessly addicted, spending $500 a month on kratom. Now that I quit kratom, I use that kratom money as a monthly TESLA payment on my new car. @@These-nutz slightly less. I’m 235lbs so I took 2-4 capsules before training. I don’t believe I took it everyday until the last 3 or 4 days. Took over a month before I could sleep through the night and not have crazy anxiety attacks like I had never experienced in my 43 years. Not good at all for me personally in a preworkout context cb. I was hoping for a natural alternative to the chem pre, coffee isn’t very effective for me. I came across some videos on this and thought it can’t be that bad. Certainly has to be better than artificial chemicals… not for me! I have since learned that Kratom is a life saver for opiate addicts without the lethal effects of other alternative but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone without an opiate issue. The side effect chances are simply to risky for preworkout or recreational use. I will personally never touch kratom again!

@@StrengthCircusDD that’s crazy, it effects us all differently I guess, even 3 grams is nothing, I was taking 2-3 OZs at my worst, I was on 100 mgs of methadone for 20 years though, I did that cold turkey for almost a month, talk about suffering…my god that was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, it was horrible, I got started on OCs back in the late 90s from hurting my back at work, most ppl at take under 15 grams a day say it’s not that bad compared to hard core stuff, I came off of about 15-20 grams a day after 4-5 months and I didn’t even know I was withdrawaling I just couldn’t sleep hardly at all, that was 4-5 months off the methadone, I took Kratom like 25 days into the methadone withdrawal and it helped so much so I know its pretty potent, I do feel withdrawals real bad now after taking a sh!t ton of Kratom, I don’t know how bad they’re going to get though, I’ve took the dose down to about an oz a day or less, I have a history of addiction so my receptors are probably blown out

Really appreciate the honest video. I used kratom to come off painkillers, which absolutely saved my life. HOWEVER, I became addicted to kratom and slipped into a very similar usage pattern. The withdrawal wasn’t as bad for me as opiates, particularly not the emotional side. But the RLS was way worse! I couldn’t stay still for over a week. I still think it should be available for those coming off of hard drugs. But with more honest info like this, so people have some respect for the plant. For me, a 4g dose, three times a day for a week, followed by a short taper would’ve got me off drugs without the long term issues.
@liamwright3287
@liamwright3287 2 года назад
And it definitely is nothing remotely like coffee. It’s related to the plant, but the effects and the withdrawals are nothing like it, and those pedalling that misinformation need to get honest. It’s not helping kratoms legal status to make up fake positives only for people to fall into addiction to it. Honest information will help people respect the plant and take caution, leading to less negative findings

This is the biggest issue surrounding this stuff, there's no transparency and i fell into the same trap myself except the only difference is i've been taking it for 5 years upwards of a 100 grams a day the first year, i've tapered off of it since and am now on my journey to quitting, went down from 48 grams a day to 28, cut out my middle dose in the afternoon and the first week was pretty shitty i'm not gonna lie mainly because i'm now putting 9 to 15 hours in between my dosage, my last dose i time very carefully to allow me to sleep but next week i'm tapering off again half of what i'm taking and the next week half of that until i'm in the 4 to 5 gram range and then its cold turkey by then my body shouldn't be in so much shock because its already been deprived of much of it ... in any case i want to confirm your story to anyone who even thinks about abusing this stuff or wants to make a case that its without risk, a drug is defined as any medicine or substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body and you best believe that kratom falls under that category and just because its "organic" don't mean a thing ... Heroin is organic, cocain is organic, its grown in the grown, cultivated and processed and you wouldn't go around calling it organic for the sake of painting this innocent image towards it so i don't know why so many pro kratom community enthusiasts try to do so with this stuff ... if you really care about this plant and keeping it around, really highlighting the benefits of this stuff ... everyone needs to be transparent about the risks that come with abusing this stuff because its essential to allowing people to enjoy this stuff responsibly, just saying that everything is okay is not how you do that.
