Why would anyone hate Jocelyn? Shes gotten some of the most catches, in quite a few of the videos and she has some kind of instinct for where the catch be lurking LOL ALSO SHES THE CLAM QUEEN! And for that really strange cooking comment, if they really watched the videos, then they would know that there is actually a video where Joycelyn actually cooked before on the channel.

Hey Taku. Thank you for the wholesomeness in your videos. I let my 6 year old daughter watch one of your videos...she might be on of your younger fans! She loves what you do. She told me that she wants to be like Jocelyn. That’s pretty cool when a kid wants to be like you. I would trust a 6 year olds view of you verses someone behind a computer screen. My Dad would have loved watching your fishing videos especially for salmon. He was only 16 and took on the family fishing boat on the rough coast in N BC, Rivers Inlet by himself! We'd watch Red Fisher Show boring tv fishing shows back in the 70's! His dream was to return and fish on a chartered boat.

Gordon Ramsey is somewhat of an athlete, not only having a strict exercise regime but has even competed and finished (maybe more than one) an IronMan. Totally can see him joining you in a "catch-n-cook" in this athletic, strenuous form of fishing with kayaks. After watching him (Ramsey) for a bit on his various tv shows and having a feel for what impresses him, he undoubtably would be impressed with your skills regarding total immersion catch-n-cook culinary adventures. You are photogenic with a pleasing, reassuring, knowledgeable speaking voice and he could invariably produce a show around you.

Your fishing skills, coordination in transition from fish on to netting is pretty solid. Only thing I would comment on is the rod is to soft. It has no backbone to lift the fist once you get it near the boat. There is a trade off between having a more flexible rod to prevent the fish from shaking off the hook vs once near the boat/kayak the power needed to lift and net the fish. Your rod is great for fighting but a larger salmon and you will have a harder time netting them. You might trade off losing more fish by the kayak/boat with your current rod.

Yeah man, you're totally right about the tradeoff. If you saw my other salmon vid, I struggled to lift the salmon up into net since it was way bigger than the one I caught this time. But I haven't lost one next to the boat yet. Let's hope it doesn't happen.

24:07 that's so cool, I remember starting garden plants from seed, with grow racks and lights! Was fun, you'd start growing when it was still cold out (New England). Easier to buy the garden center tomato plants but you'd miss the heirloom varieties and the experience of growing it yourself.

Truly its hard to go wrong with a freshly caught salmon and cooked the same day. We like to grill our skin on Salmon meat side first and skin side second. As it cooks and becomes cooked, the meat will slide right off of the skin and those who want the skin crispy can enjoy it on its own. Nice hat too by the way Taku...

Already been said a lot, but I can’t fathom anyone not liking Jocelyn! So many sad, unhappy people in the world. Been married 54 years to my honey who knew absolutely nothing about the outdoors when we married (and I’m a caveman 😝). My gal has supported my outdoor life and though she never really did much fishing or hunting herself has accompanied me on many primitive trips and learned to love the outdoors. You are very fortunate to have such a supportive and beautiful companion. Trying to feel sorry for the hater jerks but they’re just a waste of effort. Keep treasuring each other and keep the vids coming. BTW: A while back I suggested you writing a cookbook. Still hoping to see one. It’d be an instant success! Best to you!
