I remember my division got beat while I was SIQ twice. I just put my hoodie over my head and went to sleep.

One of my RDCs said, "last name, your ass is always broken".

Yep same thing happen to me one day I was siq. Got to watch my division get beat. Fun times!! Lol

Siara Broadston are you required to keep them after rtc or do you get your previous pair?

atleder1 It’s considered your uniform but I am not 100% sure I leave for boot camp on the 17th!

Once you leave training you can use other glasses but just remember not ALL glasses will be acceptable to wear with uniform. It’s just simpler for the military to have one type of frames and by default one type of lens. I’m not sure about the requirements for secondary classes. I cannot remember which glasses I wore during that period, just that I had access to my civilian glasses again.

in 68 we were told jump into the pool and get to the other side....CO told me to get in the water "xzcsdzc" I ain't seen one of you yet that can swim....so I climbed on the racing platform and after a pretty jack knife swam under water to the other end of the pool. CO was pissed...All right .....get out the pool. Guys told me later he almost jumped in because he thought I was drowning. Fixed his racist attitude real good.

Trevino Corina You place them in your shorts. So when you go to “close your glasses” you take the leg of your glasses and slide it on your waist and if that makes sense.

K Williams they don’t shove you in, the arm on the back it’s just a reassuring pressure. If they feel an increasing resistance they tell you to stop , but they can’t tell without applying that pressure and feeling you pushing against it. The whole point of controlling the speed in which you step off the deck is to make sure you don’t go out too far and risk the safety of the instructors in the water and to make sure you don’t step short or worse lean back and risk hitting your head on the edge of the platform. Remember the whole point of this exercise is to know what to do if you have to jump off a ship and seek shelter in the water. Knowing just how far you have to go to clear both the ship and avoid debris in the water is an important survival skill
