I have been saying this for a while but if they want to revert course, they need to make a change that will bring all of this to a halt. Make a rule where if you transfer you lose a year of eligibility. That would cause players to hit the brakes and reconsider if they really want to mess around with the idea of jumping place to place.

Yup that’s honestly what ruined college football not nil players should be paid I mean the ncaa is making 100s of millions of dollars off these kids who are putting their bodies on the line everyday and people have lost their life playing this game, but being able to just jump here and jump there is where the problem comes in💯
@rickyrougs
@rickyrougs 9 месяцев назад
a lot of players are opting to stay in ncaaf over the nfl due to the transfer portal / nil. if they couldnt transfer right away they'd probably go to the nfl - which i think the ncaa doesnt want. princely for example would probably going into the draft if that wasnt the case. not saying its right or i agree, but thats probably their viewpoint.

@@Litfilmz the NIL should be regulated so it's actually about name image and likeness. Livvy Dunn is a good example, she isn't a top gymnast but she has millions of followers so she should be able to make money off that. It would take having some sort of reporting on what the athlete did to justify getting paid and the scope of the marketing/services provided. A regulatory commission should be able to see red flags and measure that against regular market prices.
@Litfilmz

@@PaulMoyerSavingFreak one could argue though that getting the attention of power five programs is worth much more than a bunch of random people out there in the world, say if your a 5 star recruit and you’ve been invited to all star games and been evaluated by big time schools that’s definitely worth a pretty penny, but I also get where your coming from

I think maybe some sort of contracts need to be signed. Like “you have to stay here for at least 2 seasons, unless we release you from the contract” since they’re already getting paid, it shouldn’t be a problem

Alumnus from the Wilbur Marshall, Emmitt Smith days. Losing interest. Shame. Used to be such a joyous part of life. In the past, kids had to sit out at least a year. Completely agree with this gentleman. They need to bring that back. Immediately. Go Gators. “Then it morphed into craziness.” Indeed.

One thing I think might solve some of the problem is multi-year scholarships. Allow schools to offer players a multi-year guaranteed scholarship, that the school can't revoke without cause. It can be terminable if both parties agree to it, but it would keep players out of the portal without the school agreeing. Allow players an out if the coach or specific personnel leave (it can vary based on what they are willing to agree to). It also protects players from coaches quietly pulling their scholarship to acquire better talent. This isn't for all schools or all players, but it could benefit some schools and some players.
@kswiss6978
@kswiss6978 9 месяцев назад
They need to bring back the one time transfer rule back. Depending on the circumstances you should have to sit out a year if a player did decide to transfer. With all the damn money these kids make now days that’s fair. There has to be ground rules with this because this Wild West thing is absolutely ridiculous.

I'm not going to give 2 cents to a school that devotes $13M to a player as weak as Jaden Rashada. There's someone high up who either doesn't know jack shit about talent or is purposely sabotaging the program.

Billy Napier is clearly not intelligent enough to run a high level program. He will be fired this year and no other big program will offer him a job. He will go back to a Sun Belt type job that is more on par with his intelligence level.

Question: Start with a statement. The number of players in CFB has not changed. So transfers should not be an issue for HS players opportunity. Now a player may have to play at a lower level. Now with Covid and Medical extension adds players years and that can takes away from HS Opportunity. What am I missing?
@ticklerfancy7880
@ticklerfancy7880 9 месяцев назад
1: used to be when a kid committed to a school it was a 4 year commitment it's more like a 1 year commitment these days which can obviously effect your long term roster. 2: Teams that would normally fill roster spots with high school commits can now go out and find an experienced transfer player which clearly effects that high school kids trajectory, I'm not really sure how medical extensions or covid play into it, besides the covid year should be irrelevant in a few years
@JasonBlair-j5q

The players have been getting played all these yrs, now the players have power over their own career. Coaches should have to sit out without salary as well. The players are lied too and sometimes are not as advertised so they get neglected and done dirty but the coaches get bought out or get a pay raise. I’m on the kids side all day

The day made college football like the NFL is the day it is changed forever. Transfer portal, i.e. free agency, NIL , contracts in the millions, etc is going to destroy college football. A Good monthly stipend and maybe better bowl gifts, etc or maybe a bonus with the better bowl you go to would of been much better. All this could of been worked out years ago with NCAA and a good rules committee. But instead the NCAA wanted nothing to do with fixing anything but keep raking in the money themselves along with the networks and schools. Now we got a mess.

Why's it a big deal for football players to decide whether to go to college football or NFL but not a big deal for baseball or basketball? I'm genuinely asking. I'm not trying to be a smart aleck or facetious.
@uffootball
@uffootball 9 месяцев назад
I think it is for basketball- each roster is just smaller so we hear about it less. Baseball, the very best players go straight to the MLB- and the scholarship count is small. I also think the football mania is higher at UF than the basketball and baseball mania- and it’s our largest revenue sport. So basically, a lot of factors lol.

This is how jim harbaugh won the national championship in a few good pick-ups he needed to add to the Nucleus he built but he had help with the 4 best teams the committee screwed the £ast 1 loss team that fell to number #3Georgia Bulldawgs the conference wants to know if the Wolverines is a legit #1 national champion??? But I agreed to give every head trauma and brutal sport should of got a weekly roll over card in the same amount to help better there stay in a degree and to the next level in a NFL pro so they ain't hungry in there class or dorm at night studying or thirsty as alot of these younmen in contact brutal trauma sports have done without and should be able to order a pizza at night if there hungry and thirsty and want needs in a new sneaker or sport wear the college owes them in there logo the colleges are making billions a year off of. But I'm not for paying these kids in millions through the NIL and some not even getting paid is not fair in trauma sports. But paying millions to college athletes is going to ruin the best sport in the world in college footbqll and ruin the NFL in players in content in the 2 or 3 million in college pay that already has a decline in Pro style QB's, Fullback, tailbacks are instinct and TE are declining to in the power formation form. But colleges showed they ain't loyal to athletes after major injurys like the seminoles QB getting leg broke by Alabama that was never the same and Felipe Frank's broken lower leg needs to be liable or loyal in compensation in a settlement.
