hydraulic disc brakes are weird, but totally can be learned, imo

The Avid BB7 disc brakes go thru pads very quickly. BB7 are also very noise (sounds like a cat-in-heat) They also only have 1 moving pad which is not really efficient and causes uneven wear on the rotor. BB7's are annoying brakes. The better option is the TRP SPYKES. They squeeze the rotor from both sides. These wear slow and even on both sides of the rotor. Better stopping capability. And your not bending the rotor out of true. They are very easy to install , adjust and extremely quiet. Treat yourself as they are only $120 a pair on Ebay. And TRP are far superior to BB7's.
