I put this video together to show the visibilities of flags in different situations and how the addition of streamers can create greater visual impact. I think my flags are very colorful, but i can show you in this video how they can disappear.

Great video! Flags are a must as well as multiple lights. Nice bike paths down under.

I’d put in one or two taller flags, and also some bright red blinking lights, even in the daytime, in the rear. Bontrager & Trek call the daytime lights “DRL” or “Daytime Running Lights.” But overall, this is a splendid idea! Brilliant! 😀😀😀😀😝😝😝😝😝

I assume you are talking about Lea-Anne’s trike, because mine has all of that.

It would be a great video if all the background noise/music can be turned down. I got 50% info out of what you try to deliver. The 50% I got is still quite informative. Thank you.

Thanks I am still learning. I find it is better narrating then relying on sound out on the road. The parts you heard best were probably my narration over the video. There were a couple of parts I struggled to get rid of background noise. I will take your feedback on board Thankyou. 😊

I just looked at some of the flags, and damn, they them is expensive....oh oh oh I know... I will buy some of the wind spinners and stickm out to the side where the cars must go around me!!! 😛

James had a lot of health issues and we were going between houses and supervising flood repairs and then in April this year sadly James passed away. I was in the process of doing a video with explanations …had a hard drive crash so now have to redo the video. Stay tuned

Hi. Are you sore after riding long distance? I would like to switch to a recumbent from a diamond frame.

No, never. One thing that is important when first starting to ride a recumbent is getting your fit right. As in when adjusting boom for reach of peddles, when your leg is in it’s furtherest stretch your knee should never be completely straight. I used to ride an upright tricycle and would get sore wrists and sore butt, but never get anything like that. The seat is just the best part. Mine is adjustable to lie a lot further back, but I prefer more of an upright sit. You will never regret changing to a recumbent . 😀

Good informative information about flags. How ever the background noise and wind made it very hard to follow. An upgrade to your mic situation is warranted.

Nice video on flags and a very pleasant ride with great scenery. I ride on very windy Cape Cod in Massachusetts and in windy Florida in the winter so I got very tired very quickly with having flags blow off even after being well secured. I solved the problem by just using old very colorful kites that my grandkids had hanging around and cut the tails to maybe 12-18” and they are colorful and very inexpensive . I just glue and staple them to the poles I have and believe me, I am seen! Stay well and keep riding.btw...for better audio either turn the music down or get one of the fluffy mufflers that go over the mic to keep the wind noise down.

Glad you solved your flag problem and good that you are seen. Working on the audio. I do have a “dead kitten” muffler, but I had trouble where I was talking when riding removing the background noise, but .......we have just bought some of the Rode wireless mikes so hopefully the sound will get better. I learn something new each time I do a video, but I am still not an expert. 😊 Thanks for the feedback.

interesting... I’ve actually removed the flag on the right hand side of my upright trike because it blocked the view in my rear vision mirror.

Maybe having a the flag pole higher than your mirror , and reducing the size of the flag might help. Maybe you could have one high and one low. I have still to sort out the new flag. It is sometimes just experimenting and seeing what works. Your flags are still very colourful.🙂

I may put the second flag on a higher pole on the forward edge of the rear basket.

Always on bike paths, then flags are just drag, or art. A light up front to alart those few blind people or when you are in shadows and thats all you need. Of course if your lazy and use electric drives then you can fly all the flags you choose.

My husband has COPD and as such needs electrics to assist with his riding . So I guess that makes us ‘lazy’ . You should not judge without knowing why people use electrics. Life does not have to be hard and if riding with electrics makes someone’s ride more enjoyable what is wrong with that. We prefer to be visible wherever we ride. End of story.

Can hardly hear you, please check your sound equipment. I checked another video and had to turn my volume down because they were so loud, but yours is a Whisper. The dogs bark was louder than you. Even the road noise was louder. Finally at 1:42 the sound got better.

It is a learning curve. Not everyone is a pro and yes I stuffed the start…. I tried to get rid of the road noise but couldn’t. Like I said I am still learning and making mistakes. Hopefully you still gained some info from the video. I now have a Rode microphone system now.
