What a lovely way to keep cards, Jeri. I have made books of cards using strings/twine, but it gets quite bulky too. This is a great idea. Thanks to Elizabeth & your inspiration, ideas are popping up! cheers! TFS
I am in awe of this idea. My sweet baby sister passed away last June and I am still heartbroken and making a book with the sympathy cards received would mean so much to me. Thank you for being so giving with your ideas & projects!
Oh Teri, I am so very sorry for your loss..... Yes, do make a journal with her cards. It made me feel connected to my mom and I love having them in one nice place and not tucked away in a box. Big hugs to you! ox
Thank you so much for you kind reply. I was 13 when she was born so she was "my baby". I just watched the video again and jotted notes. This project is on the list!
Great journal and I like the idea. I’m going to make two similar card journals-one for Mom and one for Dad. I’ve been hanging onto their cards for so long; thank you for the idea and inspiration as to what I can now do with them. (Glad I hung onto my LV phone books too, to use for gluing! They have lots of pages!)
Kathryn, so glad I inspired you too! I love that you will make one for mom and dad! And the phone book, I have used it 100 times over for gluing, it's fabulous! OX
This was great Jeri! I have used a similar method to strengthen book pages...what was soo fun for me to see, was how you took two envelopes and turned them into a spine! Love that idea! I think I might just add a strip of tyvek paper between the two to make sure the spine will never rip...such a fun idea! Thanks for sharing girlfriend!!!
The Tyvek is a great idea and I considered it.... I generally re-inforce my spines with it too! I really just wanted to use all the stuff from the cards... Thanks so much for watching Ronda! ox
Love your journal idea for the cards - lovely tribute to your mom. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the others. Just saw Elizabeth's Christmas card journal too - so cute! TFS your take on the idea!
I really like how you glued the papers to reinforce the spine. I do something similar, but I glue it with a glue stick and then sew it the extra reinforcement to the pages. I really like how that comes out too. It looks awesome!!
Oh your book came out beautifully!! Can’t wait to see your other ideas for different books, so I can be inspired by you 💖 Great idea to use the book text pages and I like how you reinforced them. Love you bunches!!
Hey there! Thanks so much! You inspired me GF and I love the way it came out, it feels nice in my hand. And now the kids won't throw them out when I'm gone and they are cleaning up my messes! LOL Or maybe they will anyhow! Love you bunches back! oxox
I really love this book! I have cards for the same reasons for my mama! I really look forward to your other videos along this same theme. I am very curious how you could incorporate letters into a book, especially ones without an envelope. My mama had several of those. Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring!!
Oh Leslie, my mind is racing with ideas for ways to save these precious things. I have lots of letters too with no envelope.... I will come up with something! Thanks for watching!
