Lithium vaping batteries (cells) are dangerous (RU-vid has videos showing lithium cells bursting into flames) and toxic, but I’ve found nearly 20 discarded on my walks in the last few days, some run over by vehicles exposing the cells. Lithium cells are now thought to be too dangerous to be sent through the post on their own, so my supply from China has stopped. This video shows how protection circuits have been added to the recovered cells so they can be used. These cells are dangerous so only try this if you know what you are doing. Lithium cells need special charging so they aren't charged over 4.2V and careful discharging so their voltage doesn't drop below ~2.8V. My video "Discarded disposable vapes electronics including charging." shows how the pressure sensor in the vapes I have found contains a chip which I used to control charging lithium cells.
