You can use the lid as a tray (for the square ones) if you put the tin on top rotated 45 degrees! That's what I've been doing.

To remove the tops of the tins I would try a can opener. It worked for me when I removed the lid of a soda can!

These are so cute! My only concern is the rust of the tins but I'm sure that if you repot the plants it isn't an issue 🌿

I wonder if you could coat the inside with rustoleum paint? I want to keep a certain tin but I wouldnt want to hurt the plant

Like your ideas ❤️❤️❤️. I’ve been thinking about doing this. Will Applying Rustoleum to inside of the can harm the plants? I have some cans that I would like to keep the paper label on them. What can I treat it with so they don’t become weather damaged?

I do this with anything I can get my hands on though I've always been nervous about doing it with metal and glass. Obviously you can't add drainage holes to glass

I have used a diamond drill bit on pottery with no problem. Glass can be drilled too but is more likely to crack. There are several RU-vid videos on drilling glass, ceramic, and pottery. The biggest tip is to use water on the area you are drilling to keep it cool and to lubricate
