Red Admiral Butterflies Vanessa atalanta are shown drinking the nectar of Buddleia davidii on a warm September's day. Increasing numbers of these strikingly marked nymphalid butterflies have been overwintering as adults in response to the increased average winter temperatures, a consequence of anthropogenic climate change.
