@@pioneer5400 It has meaning only in context of game. Basically, it's aimed at mind-controlled enemies to convince them to stop resisting something they have no hope to understand.
In 2 days time, the Yuri’s Revenge expansion will be 20 years old. The fact people still play it and still have great fond memories of the game shows how it has stood the test of time. Gotta be one hell of a good game to be able to do that.
I just reinstalled both RA2 and Yuri's Revenge just a few days ago :D Tho sadly I'm having a few issues I can't seem to solve, but it's playable at least.
Red Alert 2 Perfected the C&C formula. It's nearly perfect fine wine. It ditched the attempt to be a prequel to the Tiberium story. Where Tiberium Sun & red alert 1 attempted to be "serious", Red Alert 2 embraced it's crazy and absurd storyline. It's also really damn fun, the factions units are so different and varied, and there's superweapons.... (Yes nukes) And the soundtrack, if you're listening to this, do I even need to say anymore? Hell March & Grinder and this are legendary.
I'm currently playing Mental Omega, 6th Allied mission and from what I see it will be roughly 1 mission = 1 hour, so around WEEK of constant playing XD
building... unable to comply building in progress... construction complete... cannot deploy here... new construction options... building... construction complete... new construction options... training... on hold... unit ready... insufficient funds...
Construction services ready. M to the C to the V. Let me help. The revolution starts here. What do you require? Chosen to build. Yeah, that will do. This location seems fitting. A fine proposition. Let's get to work. Request granted. We must expand.
Here's the link to the full set. Brain Freeze is a fair way in, as they go through the Command And Conquer games chronologically from Tiberian Dawn to Red Alert 2 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i-ArbE0bEQQ.html
"Your feeling of helplessness is your best friend, savage!". Secretly you cant resist to, headbang the living crap out of that bass-tune. Helpless as you are to it.... Gives the line a double meaning.
Played this online on dialup when it first came out along with the other Red Alerts. This soundtrack is still one of my favorite game soundtracks to date. I was listening in 2002. I was listening in 2012. I am listening in 2022. I'll be listening still in 2032.
Red Alert soundtrack works as music for basically any game with combat. I always have the music running in the background on COD as a way to pump me up!
"New construction options" "Building" . . "Construction complete" "New construction options" "Building" . . "Construction complete" "New construction options" "Training" Oh the nostalgia
Mate, Mr. Yuri here is master of mind control so anything in red alert 2 that is related to to him is able to dominate your brain! Or wipe you out of the planet.
I spend the whole game building up an army, and wait for this song to come on again or just put it on when I wage a full scale attack. Especially with the Soviets. There's just nothing like rolling into a base with your Apocalypse Tanks while this song is playing. 😈
"Your feeling of helplessness is your best friend, Savage" This also appears in Need For Speed II's music track, Sound Stage Strut. The laugh at the beginning of the track is also used on the same game's track, Gore. Actually... now that I've noticed that the OST crew at NFS used the exact instrument samples too, crazy.
I have been looking for that laugh for a while! It's from a movie called The Brain from Planet Arous (1957). Link to the movie with timestamp for that beautiful chuckle: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2rLXbB2jO7s.html The laugh was also used in a song called Genetic Blueprint by Fear Factory, notably featured in the game Test Drive 5. I love the thread you can follow of samples used by different artists for these soundtracks. Must have been from a sample pack that industrial music artists shared at the time.
I always heard "creation of the humanoids" "power to overwhelm and destroy" and "you'll see how helplessness is your best friend, savage!" not that far off lol
Fuck, I want RA2 remake so much. I'd buy it even from whatever-store-EA-has and I only buy games from Steam or GOG so it says alot of how much I want it
I recently bought another pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50X headphones and man i forgot how good this thing is! The quality is amazing! My previous headset was old and lasted like more or less 3 years
"New Construction Options" "Construction Complete" "Training" "Unit Ready" "Sir! Yes Sir!" "Solid as a rock, sir!" "Building" "Construction Complete" "New Construction Options" "Unit Reporting" "High Speed, Low Drag." "Kirov Reporting" "Our base is under attack!" "Unit Lost." "Game Over."
When you're playing and for about 45 straight minutes you hear "kirov reporting" then see a red smear that takes a third of the minimap Alt+F4 "battle control terminated"
What's with all the Kirov jokes literally _everywhere_ on all RA2 videos? Those things are expensive, slow and very easily killed. Huge waste of money, nothing more.
Still way better than RA3. Sad EA killed CNC and Westwood. Many of the old developers left and they formed Ptetroglyph Software and made Grey Goo on Steam. Decent game though I was hoping for a more classic style RTS.
@@vladskiobi the only Mind control stuff that doesn't need power is the Mastermind, Yuri Clones, and Yuri Prime. So thier weakness is They rely on Power for Mind control and units that is immune to Mind control.
@@grenate2255 indeed. Yuri is fun at the beginning if you play against AI, because you can easily apply turtle tactics. When you habe enough mind control Towers your can even leave your miner at the base. Just send the mind controlled units to the grinder. But then? You have basically nothing compared to prism tanks, apocalypse tank, battle fortresses, kirovs etc.
@@StealthLazarusOfNod It was in 'The Brain from Planet Arous' along with the 'savage' line, but it could be a stock sound effect, I think I've heard it somewhere else too
The beginning of this song. Always reminds me of deploying the MCV with my computer AI ally and start building everything :). And also fuck shit up lol
While I enjoy the remaster, I am forever heart broken that they decided to replace the 2:20 drop with some lame dubstep, and moving it near the end. That’s why I prefer the original to the remaster.
Started playing this game in 2021, I just found out about a 50s film called "the brain from planet arous". That's where "your feeling of helplessness is your best friend, savage" comes from.
they said "creation of the humanal race.... powered to overwhelm and destroy" then, "the product of a tortured brain" then, "YOUR FEELING OF HOPELESSNESS IS YOU BEST FRIEND SAVAGE!"
Just played the Yuri's revenge expansion for the first time and finished the Soviet campaign it was SO GOOD, literally crazy good and that's coming from a 22 year old guy so no nostalgia glasses as i didnt play it back then, it is literally objectivelly better than any modern RTS
