You need to make a shelf with an edge round it, so all that food doesn't just end up on the floor ! I love watching the birds from my kitchen window - they are fascinating and it's amazing how many varieties I get here.
Yes. Since I did the video I added a strip of plastic along the edge to prevent slippage and waste! I now have a Guinea Fowl that has taken up residence!!
All we'd get here is wood pigeons! They eat everything, not to mention squirrels. Actually, squirrels are funny when you put axle grease on the bird table pole!
Yes, plenty of pigeons around here, though the window ledge is too narrow for them! Funny, as I now have a Guinea Fowl taken up residence which settles on the ledge!
Thanks Alan for video, found that interesting. The first blackbird was greedy and messy, the robins not so, did you have food behind the model, very odd the bird kept going there. I like to think it wasn't the same ones coming back. Luckily no crows or pigeons !!!!!
It is interesting how hard birds with chicks work in getting enough food for themselves and their chicks. There was no food behind the model bus. The chaffich was a bit cautious. after I made the video several weeks ago I am getting different types of birds and they are a lot more confident in feeding this way, now. I have had a jackdaw on the window!!
