I wish I'd seen your comment before watching, it wasn't a good enough game or dramatic red card to sit through all of that. Thank you for your comment anyway.
@@benjaminlundback8394 - No, ... they weren't. This was a late slide and, if any card at all, should have been a YC. "Studs Up" - the disgusting new mantra of parents watching their teenage boys play the game - is for those moments where the sole of the shoe is directly pointed at the opponent. This was "clearly" not that. It was a late tackle/play on the ball.
@@davidcarter2720 Completely agree with you. Even if studs were showing, the contact was minimal at most and it was low. He didn't make a lounging motion and just plainly missed the ball. This would only warrant a yellow at most.
@@gerrycollins2335 arguing with a real ref? nice. his leg was completely straight when he ran into him. that's an immediate red no matter what. the rest doesn't even matter.
I swear ... if I hear "studs up" one more time ... This wasn't a studs-up challenge (and for SURE his cleats never made contact with the mortally wounded player). The RC was an overreaction to a late slide. "Studs Up, Referee!!" is the new "HANDS!". RIP "hands".
Referee has to set standards early on. If he only gives yellow, then other players will tackle reckelessly and maybe even break legs and have serious injuries.
Don’t like the use of quotes for injured lol you can see the knockback on his foot and that’s from a studs up challenge I’m sure it hurt like hell lmao
He knew there was no way he could get to the ball (it had advanced too far away from him). He also knew the opposing player was going to kick it and instead of blocking the path the ball was going to take, he decided to "plug" (taponear) the guy..........definitely a RED CARD!
Notice not much of an argument from the player sent off. He apologizes to his opponent and then begs the ref not to card him, HE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS DOING WHEN HE WENT IN RECKLESSLY . A RISK HE DIDN'T NEED TO TAKE !
Chris Sullivan , I know you dont know about soccer that much. It's okay though. Let me explain, if he only gives yellow, the "ref" will set a very violent game. If he gave yellow, I can see a fight between players breaking on later in the game.
You cannot say that you think somebody wasnt intentionally endangering the other players safety. BECAUSE YOU CANT SEE INTO THEIR MINDS, ALL THAT MATTERS IS THAT IT HAPPENED AND HIS SAFETY WAS AT RISK
That's red all day. Studs up challenge with contact high on the leg (above the ankle) with a high level of force and speed involved. One coaching point for the ref and AR2. The ref needed to get closer to play and AR2 needed to demonstrate more side stepping and interest in the game, his body language looks like he is not interested. However I do not know what the coaching is in the States so take my advice with a grain of salt.
Are you blind? The studs were down the whole time lmao, he’s like 50 something. It’s a u16 and he’s probably tired. Stop pretending your some refereeing god and shut your mouth.
card all the way. But that kid is REALLY hamming it up with all his flailing on the ground. Point of contact was the boot, maybe ankle and our academy award winner here is grabbing at his shin rather than the part that was actually hit.
From video looked like ball got away from a bit and the lunge was last resort to try and play the ball. I don't think he went in with intent to injure the player but still he left his feet with studs clearly showing. My opinion is red from what I see but could change if I were doing game and seen temperament of player throughout match and the flow of game. It was a bit extra on flip by defender but he clearly got hit. From here red and plus if a yellow is given that might change whole behavior a kids believing well if he got away with it so can I. Just observing from video, great video though
Well said, just a few additions: we cannot analyze the red card just by looking at the moment of the foul. We have to see what the game and how punishments were given prior to the tackle. For example: if a similar tackle had happened before and the referee gave just a yellow, then this foul he must also give yellow. But nonetheless, that was a horrible tackle, well deserved red card.
Why do players roll on a potentially injured leg? Pretty sure that would hurt it more. One roll is natural but 5/6 is probably gonna do more damage than the actual tackle.
Referee here. Never a red card, yellow might have been appropriate. His opponent was not hurt, at all, and hammed it up a bit to help the ref make his decision. Your body will, physically, not allow you to make a rolling motion like that if you are actually hurt. When I was in referee training, many years back, I was told the easiest test to know if someone is hurt or not - "Are they moving?" If yes - not hurt. If no - potential actual injury.
Body language is so important in these situations. 5 immediately went to see if opponent was ok. Good sportsmanship by both teams. Looks like it was a well spirited game and the ref did his job. Cheers
thats a PHAT dive lmao, no contact with either ball or player, the player even screamed in agony before he got hit, would have given a drop ball or something
4:09 - 4:11 is when the foul occurred. There could have been several other fouls and even cards given but the ref let them play. Good acting job by the injured player.
Hilarious at 0:31 if you know spanish he said "Ahhhhhh puta culpa mia" meaning "ahhhhh all my fucking fault" anuway in my opinion from my angle i think that it was a red card i mean from my angle it seemed like that tackle was rough. If i where right there and could see the replay in slowmoe and all that i could change my mind but from this angle we have i think it was a read card but if he gave a yellow i will agree too. Anyway good video. I would like to see more of these kind of videos
NO, it wasnt Spanish. These types of moments are the ones that I thank my parents for teaching me three languages. That guy spoke in Portuguese and said "Ah, puta que pariu" that means in Spanish " Ah, la puta que me pario". In English "Ah, the bitch that gave birth!"
pretty good job with the foul but he did try to go for the ball right before it cleared and as he did the studs up to play the ball the player kicked it away so he couldnt stop himself. i think it should have been a yellow instead of a red. white number 5 was going for the ball at the same time falling down and couldnt stop his feet from touching the black player. he even goes and check on the player.
Honestly the ref should’ve done a better job managing this match... I saw lots of things go unpunished which would’ve hypothetically improved the general mood of the players and atmosphere of the match. In my opinion this is a clear red card as it was a dangerous tackle and he showed no intent for going for the ball. IMO there needs to be stronger emphasis by coaches of the following “ONLY ATTEMPT A SLIDE TACKLE IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT YOU CAN GET THE BALL 100% OF THE TIME” There any many instances in this video even that show even kids this age have the ability to slide tackle. As for the uploader, context is appreciated but really? A 4.5 minute video for a 0.5-1 min incident?
Play acting he caught but playing in slow mo you can see he catches his foot which were grounded. Why is he then holding his shin? Yellow card definitely but wasn't intentional at all
Being a player, I've done a tackle like this while in high school. "Luckily" for me I injured myself in a tackle that really coulda broken a guys' leg (I'm a dirty player). Had I not limped off with a sprained ankle, I 100000% should have been red carded, as this guy should have as well.
@@muhammadshakir9 Notice not much of an argument from the player sent off. He apologizes to his opponent and then begs the ref not to card him, HE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS DOING WHEN HE WENT IN RECKLESSLY AND VIOLENTLY . A RISK HE DIDN'T NEED TO TAKE !
Bad call, that should be a yellow for the other team. If you watch in slow mo, look carefully because the kid jumps over but simulates. I don’t see any contact, he should of played on. I’ve taken challenges worse than this, I’m 12 and play in the highest division in Utah, I’ve been tackled like that, but Refs normally give a yellow. It’s an obvious yellow if red calls a foul, because white player had no intention to hurt the green player.
Saucy_EmeraldYT There is contact in the foot and ankle portion but it is over reacting. However, the ref can only see it once and he saw studs up and a harsh challenge. That’s a red.
Saucy_EmeraldYT Also, the rules don’t care about intention. I may not intend to make a handball in the box but it is still a penalty. Same thing applies here.
If we're calling the red for the dangerous play, then let's at least give a yellow to the player on the ground for simulation. Not sure he was even nicked, and he's acting like his leg is broken.
