The battery life is not great (on these handhelds in general) but the ROG Ally's ability to get better performance at higher wattage is great when you are at home and can just simply plug it in.
@@bloodygekkon Wait, is this for real? Just curious cause I am about to get one and want to preserve the battery as much as I can. Playing plugged in/turbo mode won't have any major impacts?
When you see how this game, which is in my opinion the best looking game we have to date, is running smoothly even on lower end and older hardware, that shows you how poorly optimized games like cyberpunk and watch dogs legion are.
@@Amin_2k well, try to go outside the city on ultra, or at night, the game is stunning and way more technically advanced, no matter if the rdr2 landscapes are better looking... but yeah i have the same opinion about how rdr2 is beautiful when u look at the mountains and all the stuff, cbp is just on another style
Crazy that this is running on a handheld. Back in the day running console games on let's say a psp was doable but most games were really watered down or changed completely. PSP had it's own selection of great GTA games in the 3D universe which looked and played great, and there was midnight club 3 which was heavily dumbed down but still looked and played nearly the same on a PSP. Now we are running RDR 2 on a handheld albeit 720p and medium settings aside from lower graphical quality it's literally the same game. I don't think 720p looks bad on a handheld
I set some settings to high, the performance is similar to gpd win 4 , in some are frame rate drops to below 30, really frustrating . The fsr in RDR2 is awful always give pixelated and grainy graphic so I turn it off .
Hola disculpa mi comentario en español pero , con la configuración que mostraste al principio de 720p cuánto te dura la batería aproximadamente ? Jugando a 25W y 1080p no llega ni a una hora de juego la batería 😢
Playing the crappy backwards compatible version on ps5, getting a pc pretty soon so I can finally play 4k 60fps at the least with the duelsense haptic mod.
For some reason the controls are not working for this game on my ROG Ally. Could someone please share the set up they have for the controller settings? Under the control mode: Controller and Auto no commands work in gameplau and under Desktop only the A button and joystick moving forward works. When I first installed the game everything was working fine but now I'm not sure what happened. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks!
Truthfully the paste that comes on it is pretty good.. with the latest bios 322 the temps have come down drastically.. and if your not happy w that you could always do a custom fan curve.. 👍👍
It's not recommended to replace thermal paste on apu as the one embedded is already good! However adding a cooler to the SSD on top of custom TDP and fan curves do wonder. My Rog Ally generally runs at 55° and rarely goes over 65° even at 25-30 watts.
@@killzekatsame here, thermal throttling in intensive games seems to be the main issue. I’ve got a 100% fan curve above 85c and it does wonders for 30 watt!
I had a steam deck oled but returned it to buy an rog ally. The rog ally has much better hardware and will run the game much better than the steam deck will. I've seen red dead 2 on the steam deck oled reach around 30 fps while on the video here the rog ally stays around 55 fps - 70 fps. Rog ally is better than the steam deck if we're talking about pure performance. But you can't beat the screen the steam deck has. Beautiful 7.4 inch screen with of course: an oled screen. Much better battery and the SteamOS is amazing to use. Its all up to preference but I don't mind a smaller and non oled screen if it means I get double the fps.
@@theweeklydaily2024 how do you get past the "not signed in" issue with Rockstar not able to verify your game when you are offline? E.g. When i try load the game without an internet connection it won't let me log on. The "Not signed in" screen says "You must be signed into Social Club to play RDR2. Please verify your internet connection and restart the game...". I log in to the Rockstar app when connected to the internet but it never verifies the game so i can boot and play it offline. I see this is a common issue across most RDR2 users who don't always have access to internet.
@@willf3862 you do have to open red dead while online at least once, but then on the Ally you have to enable offline mode. this will basically lock the authorization so you can play offline the next time.
I’m trying to install in natively on the Rog. It’s installed on my XBOX, and with remote play it is not as good as this. How do I stall it directly so I don’t have to be online to play it?
You should see how loud PS4 gets when playing this game @ 30 fps. Louder than a jet engine. And this is a portable handheld and still relatively quite..
720p is only just possible above 60fps....just. this tec isnt worth saying its worth buying...720p is a joke 900 is a joke. legion go 1200p.... can't do 1080p this hole tech thing is at its limits now without gpu. even the new claw ...12 core processor and frame rate is still poor...again kot worth buying.
