@@tracyrae4854 Don't say fuck gow, they're both extremely great games. In my opinion gow had better gameplay and it was all reinvented whereas rdr2 had essentially the same gameplay as rdr1, and the looting system was long and required too much effort. However story wise rdr2 has the slightest upper hand, and rdr2 has a much more interactive world.
This game is like watching a series and every second you don't want it to end but when it does its so satisfying and well written you shed a tear as arther let's out a final breath looking at the sunset
you’re right. not every company is going to spend 8 years for a western game, but rockstar, they’re different, they just know, they know it’s gonna be great.
It's a good game and at the time it somewhat pushed the boundaries at least when it comes to realism but masterpiece is something not even Rockstar can achieve and the ironic part is that the one thing that the game was supposed to be praised for the most ended up being the biggest criticism it's realism but from the movie standpoint I think I would agree the story was amazing
Hosea wouldnt have sided with anybody, he would have prevented Dutch from being manipulated by Micah. If Hosea didnt die, the gang wouldnt have ended that way. Hosea wouldnt have sided with anyone as he would have prevented the need for sides.
His story is truly a story of redemption he lived the life of an outlaw only to realize his mistakes after finding out he was dieing tries to right the wrong he sowed in life by helping the ones he cared for until he died. Hands down the best character Rockstar has created to date and story as well.
I think a 3rd intstalment to the series should be set in the 1930s and Blackwater has become big big big and jack (who by say 1933 would be Arthur's age) is living his lonely secluded life at Beechers Hope which is by this time and point has become a dump again right smack dab on the edge of town and mobsters keep trying to push him off his ground that He loves because John and Abigail took so much pride in that Jack one day looking through his father's and Arthur's things decides to take on the mob only to be lead to other areas against all types ie moonshiners, IRS Agents, mafia, but in the midst of his wrath he somehow finds peace within the world that he never knew when he finds a girl who just wants to escape the now MASSIVE Saint Denis and he works to get her out of this what Jack sees as a man made hell and so on and so forth I think there could be alot to work with here and just think if the game were set in say 1933 Jack's horse would be a Ford Chevy or a Dodge etc maybe even a doodlebug weapons could be of post world war 1 type like this if you think this could be a reality
@@subscribeforn0reasonplz691 The magic thing about Arthur is that we are always with him no matter what he does, is it hunting a animal or helping a random person. This causes a better emotional bondage to Arthur and other peoples around him than in a movie. You would not be so impressed from a world that R* presented us in games and the emotional attachment would be weaker. Ist like with the horses in this game. The more you ride one horse the bigger the bondage level between Arthur. In a 2-3 hours movie you have a limited time to expierience who is the person really. Our opinion about a person is created by our first impressions and how we see Arthur in first hours of gameplay is being an asshole to people that he meet. Thanks to the hours we spend with him we expierience what he really feels and why he behave like that before.
Yes, yes and yes! I want more too 🥺this game taught me more about life than school, the school does not teach this moral of life, honestly I was more sad and angry when Arthur died than to lose my best friend, ahm .. yes its true😳 because this game learn everyone who play that, so Im going to restart my game for play again 🥺 rdr3 now!!! And more games too like that to touch more hearts!!
This was the first game to ever truly move me at the end and throughout the time I played. It really gets you to invest into the characters development and actually build some sort of connection to them. RDR2 is by far one of the best games I’ve ever played.
Tahiti the movie Cast:John "fancy words" Marston , fucking rat,Arthur aka Jesus, lumbago man, Dutch Plan der Linde, Lennah my boah, Gavin aka God and many more "Have some goddamn faith"
I’ve never cried at the end of a movie or game before, but the final act of this game had me in tears. The whole game I’d been excited to play as John, but after everything, I found myself wanting Arthur back
If you have a Red Dead Trailer fix which needs filling, you could check out our Red Dead Redemption 2 Hurt trailer? You don't have to but I would be enterally great full if you did so and your honour bar would go up!
Andrea Sala true, but I don’t think rockstar would want any kinda attachment with the Logan trailer so they wouldn’t go with it, otherwise it would take away the shine from the games promotion and focus on the topic as to why rockstar would steal the Logan trailer idea
"for game's promotion" I don't disagree, but this game sold so well (more than 23 million copies) so I doubt Rockstar wants to promote their game more.
After completing the game the 2nd time I feel like I knew Arthur Morgan even though he's just a virtual character it felt like he was my friend or brother missed him dearly
If someone watch this trailer and didnt know is a game... That person Will think is the trailer of the most epic western movie of all times. Easily the Best fanmade trailer i've ever seen, the music, the dialogue, the editing of the scenes, is Just perfect in all ways.
Of all the games I had played, from God of War, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Detroit Become Human, and much, much more, none of the have bested Red Dead Redemption 2 in my eyes.
Boohoo God Of War still won GOTY 2018 because it played better than RDR2, while still keeping the movie style story telling. BOTW is even better and more impactful to its genre than RDR2. A good story means nothing without good gameplay, and unfortunately RDR2's feels outdated.

P1k3l U.O.A 1)they has all the time in the world, not limited time like works commissioned by third parties. 2) free use of any fucking song you want without paying (i mean its fucking HURT) 3)I know you were asking a rethorical question, but what you suggested is straight up not true. The original trailer of red dead redemption 2 was fucking epic. "You gotta love yourself a fire."
“They say you die twice, once when you take your last breathe, then later on when someone mentions your name for the last time” I will remember Arthur Morgan for my whole life
Justin_ izzchilly it was incredible detail like I’ve never seen before and was in awe so much of the time I was playing. Was wishing half the time they could invent a time machine now so it could send me to this period absolutely incredible.
You can’t beat the storyline, never played a game that had so much emotion and put you directly in their shoes like this game. GTA has been fun, but this is way better.
I feel like they probably would have if Fox didn’t use it in the Logan trailer first. Before you know it, every deep, meaningful game or film will be using it. It’s a good song, best not over saturate it if you know what I mean.
This is where we're at: Video Games are telling intricate, compelling, heartfelt stories.....and the movies are rebooting Charlies Angels again. I'm only halfway thru this game. One of the best stories of 2019 for me. The Witcher adaptation being another
There are still some great movies being made. Off the top of my head, 1917 and Parasite, yes they were Oscar winners but they genuinely deserved it. Truly well written, thought provoking movies, one simpler than the other but great nonetheless. Honestly, I could list a ton of recommendations, but they point is, all hope is not lost for the film industry or storytelling media in general, just keep an eye out. Also I would list Game of Thrones, if I could erase that last season.
Exactly, this is why companies like Rockstar need to exist. They understand that telling a story in a video game is not a limitation, but an addition to creative liberation. That's why they don't make movies based on their games. Because why would they?
man i forgot how emotional some parts of this game made me. especially arthur talking to the nun about how he regrets the life he's lived. probably the best video game character ever.
Agree best game character I’ve ever played as. You are just rooting for him so much and sometimes you can’t explain. I said to my Girlfriend that Arthur could do nearly anything and I’d follow him cause he’s a good man at heart and will protect those he cares about.
@@CenoriaWoah well from what I gathered the gang used to be a robin hood type. So in that since, there'd be quite a few members of the lower class that would have appreciated their presence.
Wow. This hit me in the feels. How Arthur just thinks he’s only good for one thing, killing, hurting, and bringing pain. How he almost doesn’t care about himself. Just, wow...
Ive played the last of us 1 it is good too but ive waited soooo long for rdr2 a good western game ive already finished it but im still playing i love this game

We got Red Dead Redemption 1 with the ending of the whole story, and then we got the prequel in Red Dead Redemption 2, and now we need a damn prequel of the prequel because we need to know what happened in Blackwater, the rivalry of Dutch and Colm, and the earliest days of the Dutch Van Der Linde gang. In a slightly more civilized tone and manner. Rockstar needs to use the noise and muneh they made off this gold score to rob one last train to Tahiti so we can all finally farm some mangoes and die happy, and we just need to have some god, damn, FAITH, that they will stick to the plan...
Imagine a prequel TV serie of the games with that story, starting with the beginnings of the gang and ending the series with the Blackwather Bank fail strike.
I’m on my 2nd gameplay and I did everything I could do as Arthur. From chapters2-6 I hunted and skinned to upgrade the camp and my satchels, I did everything I could. I did all of the requests, hunted every legendary beast that was available, tamed the legendary Arabian horse, and completed as many of the challenges I could within the many months. In chapter 6 after watching Arthur lose and gain a friend I was ready to face it. To see this sinful bad man die as a better person. I’m now playing as John Marston, I’m 97% close to completion. It’s almost time for me to put my controller down and say my good byes to a beautifully tragic story.
I haven't completed most of the side activities since Arther Died. I think I'll restart the game and do every god damn thing before the final story mission.
My favourite line is "I got some people I need to take of." Which to me it is really mainly aimed at John, Abigail and Jack also aimed at Agent Milton because by taking care of him he means killing him to protect John, Abigail and Jack
In all of my 19 years of gaming, this is ended up being the game which I loved so much because RDR 2 is truly a masterpiece that had me connected to the protagonist more than I thought I would.
noel hernandez I swear I’d never been more connected to characters in anything then this. I’ve been gaming since I was eight and this just tops it all for me. Everything I play from now on will be compared to this.

I swear. Rockstar should hire this man to make the next videogame trailer they release. Hell just buy this off him and use this to promote it some more
@@ezwar99 they can't copyright a style of trailer. Every line was the games and every clip used gameplay and cutscenes. They could aren't too but very likely would not win. Plus what use would they have to sue now that the movies been out for a while and they've got their money.
"Hmm...let's see. "Hurt" paired with Arthur Morgan. That sounds like a good matchup...and I'm NOT going to cry!" (10 seconds in) "Oh boy..." (25 seconds in) [tearing up a little] (1 minute in) ...sobbing... (at the end) "DAMN IT! I miss that bastard! How can I feel so affected by a video game character?!" :{
@@weliveinasociety1931 yes I try to shoot the eagle it didn't let me so that must've been Arthur in low honor he has two spirit animals like he does in high honor, high honor he has eagle and buck as his honorable spirit animals, low honor his spirit animals are wolf and coyate but you don't see the wolf animal in the scenes or when you go pay respects or that mission where you go to the doctor and he's explains to you that you have TB, you mostly see the coyate and high mostly you see the buck in every scene and that mission where you go to the doctor but you don't see the eagle until you pay respects so matter what you won't able to find his second spirit animal wolf it's some how lost in the game.
This game really touched me. People can change man. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the worse. “I guess we gotta pay for our sins” Thank you, Arthur.
my favorite alcoholic once said, "Sometimes men change for the better. Sometimes men change for the worse. And often, very often, given time and opportunity . . .' He waved his flask around for a moment, then shrugged. 'They change back.”
"I want you to imagine this for a moment. Arthur joining Hosea and Lenny in a big tavern in the sky. They rejoice when they see each other once again. They talk about the good old times and how bad things use to be in the way back when. They sing, they dance, they drink until the years feel like they have flown by. All of a sudden they see the tavern door swing open once again. They see John walk in and remove the hat that Arthur gave him all those years ago. Silence falls under the tavern for the first time in years. The group stands to their feet to meet him in sorrow. "I tried guys." John says. Arthur places a hand on John's shoulder and utters the only thing honest enough. "We all did son... Now give me that damn hat back and grab a beer.'" RU-vid user - Unlimited Power. Speaking of heaven and hell. To understand salvation a little better regarding our actions here on Earth we have to take a look at King David. David was a hero at times, like Arthor. He was a warrior like Arthor. He was at tines a good man, like Arthur. But he was also a murderer, like Arthor. David sent a man as the king to the front lines of his war campaign with the intent he'd die so he could marry his wife that he coveted. Eventually, he was visited by a friend and prophet who confronted him. David repented and as such he was forgiven, but not without punishment. The Bible says that David was God's annointed. That God saw David's heart like his own. Meaning that God can see our hearts and who we are. I mean really see who we actually are. As humans we can only see our actions here on Earth as judge one another by them. But God can see past the products of our edvironment. He can see past the abuse that led us down a path of violence. He can see past the grief that turned us to alcohol. So to me, fictional character or not, I can see how Arthor Morgan could be in heaven. And how each person he killed and wronged stop in for drinks every once and a while to laugh about their time on Earth.
@@thelegendgamer33 For me, it feels like a disservice. This was my first Red Dead game. It was very, VERY easy to connect with the characters in-game and they felt super authentic. Like real people. That's the reason I sometimes feel that he's 'real', even though he's a fictional character. The reason I don't go back and play as him is because I had such a good time playing Arthur. His legacy for me was pretty much always being honorable, and with how the game ended and how perfect it was I'd feel wrong to play it all over or to select a save-game and only play as him. Now that I've beaten the game, I don't want to go back to Arthur because I don't want to accidentally tarnish who he was as a person during my first playthrough.
Of course Logan is a western. Old gunslinger who doesn't kill people anymore unless he has to. Doesn't want to be recognized but does it to care for someone he loves. Tasked with caring for someone and get them somewhere far where it's dangerous getting there. Bad guy on their trail. Signs of old west tales.
also, the little deadpool scene we saw right before the Logan movie in the theatres had the image of the tv show Firefly which was a sci-fi western. Just another clue that Logan is a western. I think it's the only superhero movie my Grandpa will really enjoy, because he's a Western fanatic.
Red Dead Redemption is a story of love, family and loss. But that loss is through love and family. The true redemption in both of these games is coming to the realization that you can do better than before. John Marston on the farm, and Arthur and his TB. They were both taught to live, live without guilt. That is why Arthur helped those so many people. Strauss claimed that the sick become delusional, but Arthur was not delusional. He was true.
First time i played RDR2, i detested Micah more than anything on earth.... On my second play through something strange has happened. I am indifferent to Micah (he's a snake i can't do nothing about it), but I hate Dutch now more than Micah. Amazing emotions from this game. RDR2 👌
Its weird, the emotions you feel hearing some foreshadowing dialogue. It almost feels good, like you're remembering the good times you had, despite knowing how the story ends.
Dutch will have a special place in hell for me because of how eerily similar he was to a real friend of mine who turned out to be an asshat. So similar, in fact, that I could actually tell what Dutch was going to say, because I had heard it all before.
I have never played a game where I was fully invested into a character like RDR2.. at the beginning I didn't know if I would like Arthur. But god dammit if he didn't grow on me. The most loyal cowboy ever. He had faith! His character development couldn't have been ANY better. Made me so emotional to watch him slowly get sicker and sicker and play as him the whole time he was progressively getting worse. Thank you Rockstar.
Arthur was never loyal to Dutch. He was loyal to what he thought Dutch represented. A philosophy of helping those who had been wronged by men more evil than himself, and a philosophy of treating those in his gang like family, dying for them if need be. As it became more and more clear that Dutch didn't actually believe any of that, Arthur distanced himself from Dutch more and more. But Arthur still was loyal to his convictions - right up until the bitter end. "Just remember - it weren't us who changed." - Arthur Morgan to John Marston at the bridge
RDR Movie: Starring Hugh Jackman As Arthur Morgan Norman Reedus As John Marston Josh Brolin As Dutch Van Der Linde Jeff Bridges As Hosea Matthews William Fichtner As Micah Bell Jason Momoa As Charles Smith Angelina Jolie As Sadie Adler Anthony Mackie As Lenny Summers Liam Hemsworth As Sean Macguire Jack Black As Bill Williamson Diego Luna As Javier Esquella
*SPOILERS*********************** I felt like Logan throughout the story, especially in the last chapter when he was dying. When I was in a mission fighting in a forest, I injected Arthur with a miracle tonic and ran through a forest, killing every Pinkerton in sight like what happened in Logan when he took the injection that made him strong again for a while. It was so badass like the forest scene in Logan.
Funnily enough, I started noticing early on how much Arthur looked like Logan when he had the mutton chops and the level 1 slickback, so I had him that way, Brown jacket, jeans and everything. After he got back from Guarma, and had the fuller beard grown out, I got checked out by the doctor and then I was like “yup, we’re entering “Logan” territory here”.
MrIrishMC SSS how so? He has to survive by any means, even if it means to kill or steal, he can be good if you want him to be or can be bad if you want him to be, however, it’s not his fault all the way, it’s mostly Micah’s and Dutch’s fault for their gang affiliation.
