Isn't it? I was sure I listened it while random walking around random location. The song is so fucking good, guys, you know. Last time I listend it was my way from Moscow to St.Petersburg.
I listened to it once more right after the mission "Pouring Forth Oil I", I walked in the Heartlands under the stars all the way to the camp with this in the background. I don't think it plays ever again in the game. I tried roaming the same zone in night time but I couldn't get to listen to it. Beautiful track
It plays once more on your ride from Shady Belle to Lakay. It's a rather disjointed version, meaning it's probably to represent Arthur finally having some time to think about what happened during and since the failed bank robbery. God, I miss Hosea. Just typing this made me nearly cry, and I didn't even cry when I saw him die.
"Things go wrong sometimes, people die. It's just the way it is, always has been. But me, you and Dutch - we've been in this life for a long time and we're still here so I reckon we got it right a hell of a lot more times than we got it wrong."
Eastward bound has to be the best mission of Chapter I to me. The music, the location and visuals, the peaceful conversation and journey to Horseshoe Overlook.
This hits hard when you come back from guarma cuz you remember the last time you heard it you were with hosea and when this plays on the way to lakay you think of all the pain and misery that occurred
@@reecehaire9124 it also plays on the way to lakay but thats a shorter and less memorable ride especially thanks to the May I? ride being right before it
Probably my favourite track in the game. Just remember getting so hyped and emotional during the ride to horseshoe overlook and getting excited to be experiencing this series again and to be seeing the characters who i viewed as villains in red dead redemption in a different light, more like family if that makes sense. What a game.
Did not have a console at the time so never played RDR1, knew the gist of it from news stories and such but had no real association with the characters. So Javier's responses in chapter 6 caught me off guard and broke my heart :( Loved riding with him in the earlier chapters.
ikrrrr. the fact tht its open world and a lot of elements are added along with this track makes it so amazing. Rockstar nailed it. cant wait for rdr3. mostly after gta 6 only they will start its making
What people don't know that these long rides in Red Dead are peaceful and full of life and never lacks good conversation which I rarely find in other games.
Game was 1 year old by the time of this comment and bro was calling a new character entry in the series "good old". Lol, cant think of a better example to show how Hosea already felt like a good old friend of ours by the first time we met him in the game
I like when the natives are looking at them And then in a later mission in chapter 4 when you meet Evelyn Miller, Rains Fall, and Eagle Flies in Saint Denis, Rains fall says that he saw Arthur on the wagon train going through the heartlands. Very good detail by rockstar
Chapter 2 is the best. Not only it's a very good introduction to the gang members and game's mechanics but also the position of Horseshoe Overlook is easily the best in the game. You have an easy access to Valentine (which imo is the best town in the game) and pretty much entire western part of the map: Heartlands, northern West Elizabeth and West Grizzlies. This makes it very easy to balance out the exploration with playing around the main camp and providing it with money, upgrades and food. Coming back from long journeys around the map to the warmth of campfire of the gang's camp never again feels as amazing as in this chapter.
Even though I've played through RDR2 many times, when I start new playthroughs, I always spend months doing chapter 2. It really is a special time in the game
Dutch is so interesting too, with his crooked philosophy and blinding morale. I think he's the best written in the whole serie, while Hosea, Arthur and John are mostly loveable but maybe not as complex and conflicted as Dutch
The Nerdy Musician 2369 the whole track is great but the memorable part is at 3:00 but the entire soundtrack is in my opinion the best soundtrack in any video-game i have ever played.
anyone else remember your first time getting done with the tutorial chapter and heard the humming from "see the fire in your eyes" playing right before this song? that was when i realized this was going to be a special game.
Hosea: Poor bastards. We really screwed them over down here. Arthur: What happened? Hosea: Well, hop in; I'll tell you on the way. And that's where our journey begins.
You can have the highs and the lows to convey how spirited you are, how downtrodden you are, how lost and foreign you feel, songs like May I capture those elements great but when you sit down and let this play, this is the real feeling of being lost in a world that don't want you anymore, not the west, not the east, not the south or north, all you have is your family but when you have a family that is beginning to shatter, the last thing you have, you reflect on where you are, why you're there and how... That's how I felt after Guarma and hearing this after May I, that was powerful, like Far Away, but this, this really let me consider the depth of the character, world writing at play. The open country is free, but yet you are not, you're being hunted, you're being destroyed, your ideals are not what you thought they were, you were a blind fool, are a blind fool, it's always too late to fix that, instead accept the journey, follow it to the end, it may not be nice but it's who you are and always will be, the only thing that you can change is who you help, but that is up to you, maybe you're seen as immoral or a beacon of morality, you might judge yourself for it, you've hurt people, we all have and do, don't hate who you are, don't hate who you are not, that's just the way it is, stand true to who you are. We all have a path in this life, we all take it. But... Maybe not, maybe just...maybe fight it, fight your fate, fight who you are, no one can change who you are, only you can, make the time to right your wrongs, pointless or not, do what your heart tells you, fight to be free, whatever that freedom is to you. Fight with all you have and if you fail, don't stop, never stop. Otherwise what was the point? Letting this play on a slow long journey alone lets you contemplate, it let me appreciate the world and it's characters and even my own life, an underrated song that subtly carries so much. (If you read this, wow)
I agree! I bought it at 31december 2020...A day later in 2021 i was able to play it! Then after 3months I finished every mission...with Arthur and John! Such a great game
Playing first time in pc. Enjoying every moment in the game. I dont know i can pay bounty on me in post office, getting jumped overtime. 2 weeks now and im in saint dennis and killed a legendary animal and got myself rare white arabian horse.
this song is fire...i literally failed the medal challenge because i was so enthralled with this track....this OST is golden, best thing since the Bloodborne OST
@@IRLWojak holy crap no way!! Yeah I slowed down and enjoyed the scenery moments like that make this the greatest game ever to me anyway, truly a magical experience also this song is like two fucking notes and it's amazing like how the fuck do they do that?!
This song hit me hard when I think about all the hardship and tragedy arthur and gang went through in their lives, arthur once had a wife and son that were killed
Mohammed Al Abdulrazzaq I think it’s impossible to give any good character or person a theme since most people have different sides, Arthur has his big bad side but also his kinder, truer one. When Arthur’s angry the finale fight theme is more fitting, but most of the time o think this suits him better
me too ! until a minute ago a great person wrote the name of the soundtrack in the comment section , great people are those who share music names if you ask me ! :)
You can actually here these notes in the back in chapter 5 while arthurs on his way to lakay, the fact you can breaks me especially since its what you hear when arthur and hosea are talking but this time hoseas gone and everythings falling apart
Yep when he finds the letter the gang left for him when they moved out and to find them at Lakay 😭 I will never ever forget that gang or this masterpiece
Been waiting for this track since I heard it. Like the calm before the storm, your one moment of peace with two of the best characters besides Arthur and John. Charles and Hosea, you two kept me hopeful and sane even though I knew tragedy awaited me. One carried on, and the other two fell. Miss you Charles, I only hope you ended up getting the family experience you wanted, and that it went smoother than poor John's.
I’m on a trip in Cologne, Germany. Walking in a nice street start a little rain, and I don’t know why I feel like putting this song, I did and was SOO peaceful; making memories.
I started to tear up when this music started, and the cut scene played. Such a fantastic game.. sure it has flaws here and there but.. no game will ever make me feel this way again. I guess its the world, the immersion, the absolutely amazing visuals, story, environments... landscapes. I remember I used to take screenshots of overlooks, falls, mountains... anything that was beautiful. But everything was. Red Dead Redemption 2 is probably going to remain my favorite game of all time. Theres just so much here... so much I'll never forget..
The simplicity of the music is so memorable. I still remember myself when I first started playing this game, I was still in school. This game has a special place in me.
and this marked the beginning of an epic tale, first time I played I had no idea what the game had for us, second time you play, it just hits different, who would have known we'd be going on a journey that takes us this far, amazing game
In school, I'll just have my headphones hidden inside of my hoodie, and blast this with my Beat Studio 2. No one can hear it, but I can hear it. Just the beauty of this song gives me chills for some reason. It just has that feel of moving away from somewhere safe if that makes sense? Basically what they do when they move to New Hanover. Great game Rockstar. Can't wait to see "Red Dead Redemption 3" :)
The safe part you mention I can relate to a lot. I blast this track from my PC every day before I have to go to my shitty ass mundane job and it always calms me to the point I can mentally be ready for the day. But it isn't just this track, there are so many OST's from this game that helps me simplify the view of things to the point I can get aligned with myself. Throughout my College years the audio for RRD2's first teaser, you know the one "You better run and not look back." was my alarm tune every morning and that help me tremendously. I haven't been impacted by any other video game since the PS2 era so I truly believe this game is a masterpiece.
Red Dead 3 wont take 8 years to make I'd say though. Technology has advanced a lot and the thing that would take the most time would be creating the story.
“ 13? That was the age we found young Arthur. Maybe a little older. A wilder delinquent you’ll never see. But he learned fast. “ Beautiful words beautiful music, I kinda wish we could see Arthur’s rise into the gang and his outlaw life as an orphan and can see this theme represent his childhood, and his curiosity for the outside world and desire to live free.
I FINALLY FOUND IT I LOVE THIS SONG HOSEA ARTHUR CHARLES GREAT GAME Idk but man heard this song the first time for some strange reason I just remember America's history good and bad this song Fits America's History alongside with its Nature of Beauty
So Nostalgic 😢 I used to laugh when i crash into trees now riding as John isn't the same with the music keep playing after Arthur died. Miss playing it in March when quarantine started
You just bought the game and completed the prologue. You think the graphics look great, the mechanics are simple enough and you’re ready for the progression of the storyline, and a vast open world to explore. As you ride into your camp, a soft breeze passed over you. You leave Horseshoe Overlook for the first time, and go for a wonder. You can practically feel the sunlight gleaming down on your skin. People on horseback ride past and greet you, and you find you can talk back. As you follow the train line down to a small town, you find yourself truely thrusted into the Red Dead Redemption atmosphere, with only some small visuals, a small interaction or two, and some amazing music. Rockstar, you bloody legends
This music here are the sounds of the vastness frontier a dying land with more law and less Wild is what I here in this beautiful music calling for a better life
It's funny that I'd read this now. I'm just starting my second playthrough and it's hard for that reason. Nothing will match that first-time playthrough. Actually made my heart sink when I realized that.
@@Steveo3420 I'm still currently on chapter 3 of my second playthrough (which gives you an idea how much free roam I do), and while I've mostly gotten over that feeling, the first 2 chapters really didn't feel the same as that first playthrough
I luckily played it when it came out and now just started my second playthrough, even though I know the major events that'll unfold, it still feels fresh and I have plenty of stuff in sure I didn't see the first time since I sorta rushed cause I didn't want to get spoiled online, now I'll just take my time, really live as arthur.
I remember playing this game for the first time, it was wonderful. I always loved westerns and storys of gunslingers, and this game let me live thru the best western there is. When chapter 2 started, i completely ignored the story at the begginig and just explored. I got lost somany times i just new hanover and ambarino. This music and other parts of the soundtrack played while i was riding on the open plains and the forests. The world felt so big and i could swear that the map was bigger than now
