Micah Bell was likeable in Chapter 1 and 2 and then just progressed into lying snake i think Micah snitched when he was locked up in Strawberry and he tells Agent Milton and Ross where the Van Der Linde gang stays that’s how they find Arthur by the river
@@sideways_chip_eater6420 No, first a cutscene with Arthur and the rest of the gang in Tahiti drinking coconut milk, eating mango and throwing Cornwall to the Sharks.
Fuuuuck I'm absolutely in love with this game and I know it'll win Game of the Year because it's on both Xbox and PlayStation, but for me the newest GoW is the best game to come out this year because of the non stop continuous camera one shot, the epic story and continuity which connects to the old games, the most badass video game character, and the combat is too much fun especially after you unlock everything and pull off those nasty stance switches to juggle everybody in the arena. GoW exceeds in making you feel like a God, plus I'm a huge DBZ nerd and seeing Baldur and Kratos go all Goku and Vegeta in the first fight made me fall in love with the over the top set pieces. But at the same time, Red Dead 2 is one of the most detailed in depth games ever created and it's been taking up my entire life right now so maybe deep down I just don't want to admit that Red Dead could possibly be better than GoW. Anyways, I feel spoiled because Spiderman came out last month and I thought that game was also too much fun it brought me back to when I first played an Arkham game, and now Red Dead 2 is here
Opposed to the classic desert environment under the scorching hot sun, the first gunfight of RDR2 takes place during a snowstorm in the mountains at midnight. Truly the beginnings of the Post-Western.
@@landynkaplan7017 well I’ve seen it in that mission where you hunt with Charles, if you look to your top right where you start tracking, and in the train robbery it appears briefly in the distance while the gang ride
One of the members of camp said that they are different in that the o'driscolls are fighting to survive and that the van der lindes are fighting to thrive, not just survive
First gunfight: Dutch, Micah, and Arthur fighting a house full of O'driscolls. Sadie Adler is being held inside unknown to them. Last gunfight: Dutch, Micah, and John in a Mexican Standoff. Mrs Adler is being held by Micah this time. I might be stretching but I think that's some real cool writing if it's intentional.
This song will stick with me forever, that first shot; the crack echoing around the mountains as I take out o’driscols as Dutch and Micha call out targets and I chase down the one that got away; it was at that moment I truly became Arthur Morgan
Quit trying to sound deep. You’d known Arthur for like 10 seconds at this point. It was a badass moment, sure, but you didn’t fall in love with or “become” Arthur at this point.
Wonder how history would have changed if the ODriscolls immediately shot Dutch. Arthur and Micah changed history by being with Dutch, literally. Never remembered later on (RDR1) but still changed the story by just being there.
0:10 I don't understand why this song makes me cry... no other game has ever given me this feeling... a great game... I enjoyed it in Pandemic Fly High ARTHUR MORGAN.
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT TO ANY ONE SEEKING THIS SONG. Do not look up "Prologue Red Dead Redemption 2" The first video that appears in the search is a spoilerific epilogue video and it spoils it right in the title. So, do yourself a favor and save this to a playlist or like the video and access it from there. Do not risk spoiling Red Dead Redemption 2.
@@justvibing7851 I looked up exactly what was written in the first post. "Prologue Red Dead Redemption 2" and it spoiled some late game stuff regarding the epilogue. Obviously I'm not going to say what that was exactly, but it is something that would have been a nice surprise and now it is ruined for me.
ManwithStroath I hope more people on the internet were like you...I was spoiled before I even thought of buying this game...And I havent even played rdr1...And I got spoiled on it too!!!!
The whole story of RDR1 has been spoiled to me at this point tbh. (I played RDR2 first) I'm glad I got to experience this game without spoilers. Guess I was lucky.
Red dead 2 is my favourite game of all time. The immersive world, the priceless storyline that I've played countless times and the music all put together makes this a game that cannot be beaten. I cant stop coming back to this song where it all started.
@@NickKnackisB4ck i shot him in the hands and the crotch and in the head so he wouldnt be able to come back and revenge me. If in the case he somehow returned he wouldnt be able to breed or use his hands :D
I genuinely believe Red Dead Redemption 2 is the greatest video game ever created at this point in time. Absolutely flawless masterpiece. edit i made this comment like 2 years ago high off rdr2 hype chill lol
Yeah, they are absolute bosses at making games but every company has a flaw, Rockstar’s is taking way too fucking long with their next game, from 2001-2010 they would never stop making games.
This is too intense and dramatic for a game's very first combat encounter but it immediately stuck with me. It sets the tone for the entire game right here, imo.
Everyone loves American Venom and yes it’s a great track, the whole soundtrack is. But for me this one feels like the real main theme. The first western style track you hear in the game…calm but brutal, like once upon a time in the West. Love it!
I mean this song literally a direct rip of Once Upon A Time In The West. It’s awesome but doesn’t scream “Red Dead Theme” cause it doesn’t have its own identity. John’s theme, aka American Venom, is and always will be the iconic, undisputed, sound of RDR. The only theme present in both games too.
@@rishavgangopadhyay674it’s literally fucking not lmao. It’s a rip of Ennio Morricone’s Once Upon A Time the West. The Harmonica theme. This song is not in RDR1 at all, or anything even remotely similar
Arthur: A true badass that can fight better than everyone in any way. Dutch: A cold blooded leader. Hosea: An old man in a business where men die young. John: A man who changes, but the past doesn't. Charles: A badass who was born with a knife in his hand. Micah: An evil outlaw, as much as we hate him, he was pretty badass. Bill: The big dumb tough guy. Javier: The stylish Mexican outlaw. Sean: The loud funny guy that was lost too soon. Kieran: A sheep in a gang full of wolves. Sadie: The badass psychopath female. Reverend: The drunken priest. Trelwany: The info man. Pearson: The cook. Lenny: A young guy with nothing to lose. Miss Grimshaw: Most of the gang didn't have a mother, so she becomes their mother figure. Jack: The alone kid who grew up around outlaws, and avenged those outlaws. Uncle: A true survivor, he was there before them, and he was there after them.
This song tells of the beginning and end of the van Der Linde gang's legacy and lets you discover the pieces in between. God this game is a masterpiece.
A great tune - and a homage to Ennio Morricone's 'Il Grande Massacro' on the Once Upon a Time in the West soundtrack. Rockstar captured the mood so well with this bit of music and tied their post western game to one of cinema's greatest post modernist westerns.
I don't think people know their composers from directors considering this is a video with the music. But still, Leone and Morricone were fantastic, and Tarantino with his love for old cinema also pairing up with Morricone in his films turned out great too.
This theme will be remembered as the first shot in RDR2. Such a masterpiece, i loved the first but RDR2 easily tops it. Also Arthur reminds me of “The Man With No Name” and Dutch “Colonel Mortimer” from the best movie “For A Few Dollars More”.
You're my brother is so much more fitting because it's Arthur's final stand and a way for Arthur to repay for his sins. Fit this music into that part of the mission and it doesn't fit because you're my brother is just A) amazing and B) built for this scene and this scene only. All the music in the game fits where it's put whether it be the chaotic sound of the bank robbery theme from San Denis and Valentine or American venom from the least mission which really feels like it was designed to make the player feel like a god and play like one, Micah helped too but the music was a big part for me just playing better than ever
I’m playing red dead 2 right now and as soon as I let off that first shot off the song blasted through my headset sending a chill through my whole body honesty the best way to start a game
At this point, I would say that, this is the best soundtrack I’ve ever heard in video-game history. And this prologue, is the best part of the game. And this music, is my favorite one from the game.
I remember my first time playing this game and being absolutely blown away by the visuals in the introduction. 10 minutes or so later, you know you're about to have your very first gunfight. But when THIS music started playing, I knew I was gonna be playing one of the greatest video games of all time.
Like another guy said, this first gunfight pararells the usual cowboy game shooting. Instead of being on a Desert, you fight on the snow, instead of a sunny day,you fight on a cold, dark night. Instead of a tense duel between two outlaws, you have two gangs having a violent and brutal fight for survival.
"I don't believe it...come here partner..come here!! ...It's god damn Dutch Van..(I shoot him and music kicks in) seriously an epic moment. Edit:finally replayed the mission and fixed the quote.
Just bought the game for the first time yesterday. The moment that gunfight starts and this song starts playing I knew I was in for a treat. This takes me back to the 70s Clint Eastwood Western movies. Absolute masterpiece.
Rdr2 just proved how rockstar really balances the story and gameplay, this is a game I'll never forget, the fallout series definitely needs someone like rockstars
I get the picture of " Enjoy your time while it lasts" vibes. It has the theme of violence, survival, and the beginning of something... It sounds pretty badass
Pretty sure, but heavily inspired. The tempo seems to be a little faster also. This is the main theme btw. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x1Z2qNcSKnI.html The one you're referring to is Harmonica's theme I'm guessing, and while it sounds similar it's way different. Especially at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m6BQKFs3-VM.html I can see why it's different also, This is Arthurs story not Harmonicas. Either way it is amazing.
That very first shot and when this music popped out i immediately knew this game was going to be badass i literally played this game 22x ... I know i dont have a life but still its just so good.
