@@MegaTJ009 It does that for me as well, and I'm from Sweden. But a lot of Swedes actually went out there way back when, especially to build railroads. The old west is a big part of Swedish culture as well, with a lot of novels and stories and kids playing Cowboys vs. Indians etc. etc.
I know exactly what you mean. I live in Kansas neighboring the panhandle region of Oklahoma and that was the area I’m pretty sure Rockstar modeled New Austin or the landscape around Blackwater after because the landscape makes me feel like I’m in the universe because it looks exactly like a screenshot of the game. Helps even more that my family has a long history with and still are running cattle too.
@@dynamoproductions8922 yeah same here. Live in central Oklahoma and family still has cattle, we let them graze over the whole property. It feels like a little sliver of the Wild West
Literally brings me so much happiness and comfort I want to cry. I don't even know why, I only started playing it in about May of this year... My dad got a new TV and put this game in the PS3 to test the TV... I watched him play for a couple weeks and fell in love, and he taught me how to play (I don't ever play video games and I suck at them). At first I didn't realize that the game was open world, and the only place I thought I could go was MacFarlane's Ranch. I remember walking out into the open prairie and seeing everything that I could explore and discover, and I remember being so magically in awe of this for some reason. I have been playing this game for months and months and refuse to finish it because I don't want it to end. It's like therapy for me, and I don't know why. But I love this game so much.
Awesome man , I remember playing this back in 2010 and I fell in love with it , I still play it till this day and I so can not wait for Red Dead Redemption 2 to come out :D
I just started playing it too, I didn't expect to like it as much because I was honestly disappointed by GTA 4/5, but it is amazing, from the music to the scenery, it's extremely charming!
I agree, even though I love red dead two I feel more connected with red dead redemption 1 because of the nostalgia. Before red dead tho there was a ps2 game called gin and that game was waaaaaay ahead of its time ❤️🔥🤠
RDR 1 has a much more concise and consistent story along with its open world mechanics than RDR2 does. I’m replaying RDR2 as a bad Arthur and it really shows how on rails the story is, for the player and for Arthur. They give you choices in some aspects of side content but in the actual main story where it matters, there’s only one way to go everytime. I wanted my second play through to have a bit more freedom so I mess around with systems and do more bad things. The game really doesn’t like you venturing off of their preferred path, constantly giving me fail screens for walking two inches too far away, or not doing something I needed to in time, or etc. etc. It’s just constant and it’s very invasive and immersion breaking. To the point where at times I wish the “cinematic camera” mode had an autoplay button too, because I find myself just riding off to whatever exact place they want me to, so I can do whatever exact chores they want me to do, without any deviation. Unlike in Witcher 3, where you can make choices yourself that have rewards or consequences that you may or may not be aware of. That’s fun gameplay design. Riding for 10 minutes just to accidentally bump into someone and get a fail screen because somehow they called the cops immediately even though you’re in the middle of nowhere, not fun game design. RDR1, seems to have more meaningful choices in its story as well, and you have a reason for doing it. In RDR2’s story Arthur is just doing any and everything for seemingly no benefit. It’s almost infuriating at times because it’s like he must be high why is he doing this shit. They even made John Marston a total cuck, barely even doin anything about his own child being kidnapped. The epilogue has the best story in the whole game because it makes sense and is completely focused. RDR2’s story does not feel designed for an open world game at all.
They fucked the epilogue up in a lot of ways. John looks more like Arthur Marston, his hair, his good NPC outfits aren't available, but yeah the worst part is the music. There is zero reason why they couldn't have added some classic RDR1 music into the free roam experience as John.
This is it, this is like THE quintessential RDR open world track. Brings me straight back to being in my last year of high school, rushing home to play this and Halo: Reach.
@@TheShark94700 I know what you mean. RDR2 is one of the best games ever made, but for me, RDR1 remains a better gaming experience. The desert, the music, the dynamic ragdolls, the consistent and steady aiming, the balanced health items and regeneration are all done better in RDR1. RDR2 nails the details and the cinematic aspects but it misses the mark on the basics, the very basics that attracted me to this franchise. Still though, the things it nails, it nails so well that i've played it more than any other game (Can't play RDR1 on ps4 after all).
Rockstar really proved themselves with this game. It's basically the same concept, but different at the same time than the others, GTA, Bully, etc. They showed that they can create a beautiful and deep story, and not only criminals killing people and robing cars, banks etc. This game is really something else, a masterpiece.
This is honestly the type of music that you'd play whilst sat on a porch on a warm summer day, watching the sun set with a cold beverage in hand, reflecting on the beautiful nature. Man, Red Dead Redemption was such an awesome game! I remember the ending brought me to tears, I miss the days of wanting to come home from school ASAP to play it and going on a 8 hour-a-day marathons during holidays. Can't believe it's nearly 8 years ago...I really hope a re-mastered version is released on the PS4.
This might be a unpopular opinion but I felt that RDR 1’s story was more serious and darker and better written than RDR’s 2. I like RDR2 a lot, but RDR1 is still my favourite.
It’s a very unpopular opinion unfortunately take the stranger missions for example they always end tragically and realistic but in a beautifully made way where as rdr2 got you chasing magic dwarfs and men dressed as women rdr2 just isn’t for me but this game is a masterpiece
@@dutchh5991I was extremely disappointed in the way John Marston was in the second game. Wasn’t even the same person. I don’t care that he was younger. The way they described things you would’ve thought their gang was unbelievable sadistic. It was so politically correct and woke. This game had this feeling of loneliness that was so depressing but for some reason made you fall in love with it.
@@GovRiffRaff they also make him out to be a dumbass in 2 where as he’s incredibly intelligent with the way he acts and also the way he is with words in 1 they just made him a mock in rdr2 trying to make everyone love Arthur and forget John. There is supposed to be a rdr1 remake hopefully it’s real and they capture the feel of 1 perfectly and not go in the direction of 2
It's amazing to think how people left their lives behind to move to the Western United States. Settlers had to cope with harsh droughts, famines, disease, and much more. All for the possibility of a better life, or redemption for something.
I'm sitting outside in my rocking chair in night and play this.. Its the best feeling when u sit outside in the nature and play this track And smoking a cigar🚬🎩 makes u feel like (you) are inside the game 🍻
This makes me feel things, and takes me back to summer 2011 summer holidays sat inside on sunny summer days while riding through McFarlane’s ranch and then joining an online match and pissing about with college mates who I don’t speak to anymore but wish we could have one more online piss around together in tall trees on nekoti rock
I remember whenever I just wanted to be alone and think whilst looking over the River and Mexico on the cliff, I’d ride around Hennigans Stead and listen to this, I loved this game so much. It almost hurts to listen to this. I played it relatively recently and I forgot how pure this game was. I love RDR2 a lot but RDR1 has a much better feel to it.... idk
@@brandonferguson7361 The only thing that beat the original was the protagonist, I felt bad when John died and I even shed some tears but when Arthur died, I cried.
@@dutchh5991 Don't move to America unless you make a six-figure salary. Everything is expensive here now, and we don't have single-player or universal healthcare. Be prepared to pay a yearly deductible for health insurance on top of whatever amount you still owe not covered by your plan, too.
@@dutchh5991 If you live in a major city, also be prepared to pay on average a whopping total of $1,200-1,500 a month for a one-bedroom apartment. El Paso is relatively cheaper since it's a smaller city in a less desirable location (across from Juarez, Mexico).
@@Dutch_H_13 McDonald's pays an average of $11-13 an hour. Many gullible Europeans think they can get by on that. Groceries are about $70 for a full week's worth, and it isn't even a full cart!
I love working on homework and listing to this it is not so loud that it gets your attention away but it is not too quiet where you can not hear a thing in the song it strikes a perfect balance (also I do get nostalgic by this) my dad and my bigger brother played this and my 5 yr brain was scared of this game cus of the mission were you go to Mexico but I think In 2020 I went to try it out and I feel in love with the game
I remember the first time I played Undead Nightmare, I was so mesmerized by the horrors of the game in every way. Then when I got to the Ranch, and after clearing the undead, it was like the purest breath of fresh air because of this song playing. RDR2 is great and all, it’s one of my all time favorite games, but RDR1’s soundtrack just takes the cake for me. So many undeniable happy memories with it. Makes you wish you can go back and relive it all again for the very first time.
Sometimes, i love to stay up at around 7PM in game time to join the people gathering up at the near fireplace pot. Just standing there, listening to the NPC playing a violin while everyone else are enjoying themselves makes me feel at home.
Memories oh memories ❤🥺😭 i remember getting this and godfather 2 back when i was 11 y/o before i entered high school and the song till this day hits the memory button in my head even though i still play the game here and there ps3 / ps4 versions its still just so amazing ❤
I’ve been looking for this sound for ever.. that whistle and violin right afterwards just causes so much nostalgia! from 0:30 to 0:45 Red dead redemption is one of the best games ive ever played!
Memories here the first time play this in 2010 got this game and riding thru McFarlands ranch going pass the train station out headed to armadillo setting up camp fires watching the moon like its reality but awesome game and soundtrack
Although I live in England, there are some parts that look similar to America particularly the moorlands that resemble to frontiers or certain areas of the countryside that look like areas like MacFarlane's Ranch. I always listen to this music whenever I visit them areas as it just has that feel to it
I don't why but RDR1's soundtrack just hit different as someone who first played recently not because of nostalgia. I think it's because it's more wild west-y than RDR2.
Red Dead 1 music is still in RDR 2 when you play with John and go to RDR 1 locations, but yes ,I agree, the music from RDR 1 is better .But RDR 2 has good music as well! : )
I think that rdr2 has better mission musics overall but rdr1 definitely has better ambiance musics. This one is my favourite. Truly captures the western american rural life
The one right here is the soul reason why I Prefer Red Dead over GTA. Because #1: The Soundtrack #2: The Characters #3: The World #4: John Marston Tbh, This, RDR2 & GTA4 are Rockstar's Magnum Opuses
