@Eric Barney I agree with you 100% I miss the Xbox 360/PS3/Wii,Wii U era back then when the games were fun, Nowadays they only focus on adding dlc content and updates to Multiplayer and not Single Player its only Micro transactions and greed now and its Not fair to those who play SP more than MP, I Wish they treated both modes equally its a very Big Disappointment! 😠 I miss the older days of gaming!!
Something so pure about John just admiring his son talk about something he finds interesting. Love how Rockstar put in the effort to show Marston’s character without explicitly stating it.
Tbh, I took it as the story going over his head, so he started thinking about something else Mostly because hisnface didn't look like he was admiring or in enjoyment lol
Yeah sure... And when his wife and son turn into zombies he doesn't seem worried or sad at all, not even when Abigail is just bleeding in front of him after being bitten. "Oh damn wife and son, ya'll don't look so well hehe" I don't get John's character in this game...
@@semago29 it's for comic relief they are exaggerating the personalities of the characters... John is "dumb", Abigail is a damn nag, Jack is a sassy "nerd", Sean is more of a creep
@@Kingnome it wouldn't surprise me if covid started to evolve to parasites that control the brain and reanimate the deceased. It would be same shit, different day with me if there was a "zombie virus".
I love how John just talks normally to his zombified wife and son. “Treat your mother kindly” “Teach the boy right from wrong” JESUS CHRIST THEY WILL JUST KILL PEOPLE JOHN
I know why this isn’t canon, all of this is directed like a bad/odd dream. The way the people talk; giving obscure and cryptic clues as to why the plague is happening. The amount detail they put into this dlc is amazing and Highly Appreciated! I hope they make one for Rdr2
@@yachiyous9110 I think you hit the nail on the head. Heck, Arthur met a... (SPOILERS... I guess) ....vampire and witnessed a UFO. (My Arthur for that matter.) The West was truly Wild.
In the start when John is listening to Jack, you can just tell Jack is Johns entire world like in the second game he did stuff he ain’t proud of and for the entire rest of the series you can just tell John is trying his best to make amends, the heart break he must of felt seeing Jack and Abigail as zombies, this dlc may not be canon but it really shows how far John will go to save his family
John Marston, the legend Mexican army couldnt kill him. American army couldnt kill him. The Government couldnt kill him. The undead couldnt kill him. Except if he allows them to.
Literally the biggest waste of potential in DLC history and a flat out fucking crime that they didn't make UN2 . . It could've been even longer and fleshed out, added things like a companion system/camp resources mattering and some more base (camp) building features like wooden stakes and pits/firearms (particularly some big ass revolvers and the blunderbuss) and melee weapons/outfits/side missions, they could've expanded into Mexico (especially considering they had the assets and made the land mass for Mexico prior to the games release but scrapped it last minute) and see some old faces (like Landon Ricketts) interact with Arthur. What really irks me, is the fact they already had the "Night Folk" and some creepy shit surrounding them, yet couldn't even be bothered to at least make a DLC with that? Picturing Saint Denis at night overrun with zombies, stragglers held up in stores and apartments, charging through the cobblestone streets on one of the 'four horses of the apocalypse' as Arthur and smacking skulls with a fiery torch, undead animals popping out of the bushes on lonely wooden trails, bandits and gangs roaming around-hideouts to raid for supplies/secrets/special weapons with the ability to rob (or help) 'innocent folk' and their camps (effecting honor and story events like the main game), towns and villages to clear the undead out, coming across Bigfoot again, hilarious side missions like that photographer you help take wildlife pictures with-tries his hand at pictures of the undead lol, and so much more . . FUCK Rockstar and more importantly FUCK Take2 Interactive.
@@CommanderLongJohnI would love this too but you gotta understand that’s a huge undertaking for a dlc. Rockstar has gta 6 and some other projects to work on they can’t just summon undead nightmare 2 from thin air.
@@Elgallo1107 Thin air? They had a solid 3yrs where they could've made it and then charged $15-20 thus making literally hundreds of millions of dollars and winning critical acclaim (Undead Nightmare won "DLC of the Year" TWO years in a row) 🤷 Or do you forget, that's how *paid* DLC used to work lol? The fact is the higher up executives and lead managers (and especially shareholders and investors) simply don't give a f*ck, they want the highest return on 'investment' whilst putting in the barest of minimums, that's why all the "free" DLC in GTAO (that they've been milking for 9 years now) has been virtually nothing but crumbs of bullshit a 13yo modder for Saints Row could've done better. Without Houser and his main guys I guarantee RDR2 wouldn't even exist.
I imagine we would tie up everyone at camp, except those who are not bitten, John, Micah, Arthur and perhaps Jack, Micah will play the villain role, like what Seth did.
@@Nightwing93 just spent 20 minutes looking for it but i haven't found yet. Not even in the Ost playlists. Someone will have to open the game codes and look for the track name i guess
I find it really funny how John gives his zombie family a plate of food and talks to them casually as if they didn't just take bites out of each other.
"What is going on!?" "Well sir, I'm a man of science, a man of great learning, a thinker, a wise man... and I'll be honest with you sir; *I HAVEN'T GOT A FUCKING CLUE!!"* Truly one of the best DLCs I've ever played.
Somewhere on a Mountain a Man respected by his loved ones and who gave everything up for his Gang rises from the Grave, Coughing and needing more MONEH
A few days before Seth takes the green mask from the crypt, a familiar Nun with a bottle of holy water leaves it by the grave of Arthur Morgan. She kneels and prays. As she stands and leaves, the days pass. As soon the day that Seth takes the mask from Mexico, the yells of Mexican soldiers who gave chase and screams of civilians echoing through out Mexico...the undead once more rise from the once peaceful night.... now turn to hell. All over the five states and Mexico the undead once more walk the lands. But so do two heroes... on in the home he died to protect, the other atop a mountain overlooking the land. But this tale of a nightmare takes a new twist.....
4:04 Favorite scene out of this DLC, especially after playing RDR2. Seeing John go from not particularly caring about his family to looking at his son with such love was such a treat.
One of the best DLC I’ve ever played. When my grandpa was alive I remember watching him play this and he got sick of the woman on the roof in black water talking crap so he shot her 😂. If you haven’t done that please go back and play the game just to do that
Well the original idea for the first red dead was about red dying along with his parents and getting resurrected to get revenge on the attackers and was going to feature monsters like vampires and such
At the start of the game you see Abigail jack and Marson together joking around as a loving happy family, this is done to remind you that this is a work of fiction
Well, remember that, this John is calm, because he has been through events of rdr2 and some rdr1 sides quests, so he probably has his of fair-share of some "red-dead weirdness".
@@mrsswiftie2751 when you are doing the mission that is about hunting a group of bigfoots, they are located in the minimap, after this mission you can find them randomly in tall trees
I know right? RDR2 spoiled me too much. They have nearly the entire map of RDR in RDR2, it would be fucking amazing if they added the RDR and undead nightmare story as a DLC. It would be like a whole new game considering you’d have the graphics and gameplay elements of RDR2 added.
Pool Fert A new story would be amazing but how satisfying would it be to finish RDR2's epilogue and then transition to the starting story of RDR? It would just complete the story and also allow the newer fans to enjoy content they haven’t played yet. They could iron out some of the plot holes and add a few extra missions, maybe even make it so that during the story line, John has a few missions in the new map. If they don’t do that, I hope to fuck they at least do something with Jack or Undead Nightmare. The new map and gameplay features have soooooo many possibilities. I’ve played though RDR2 twice already and I still keep finding new stuff and locations. Rockstar is the only game company that I welcome DLC from because it’s always quality. We didn’t get any (proper) DLC for GTAV so I’m not sure if they will for RDR2 but I’m hoping. Honestly though, I don’t care if it’s a new story or not; I just want more content, haha.
Wait wait wait, Abigail offers to make some food for the family while John talks to Jack about his book, but instead of making food, she just comes back out a couple minutes later and John tells his boy to go to bed? Tsk tsk, Rockstar.
4:40 although its John looking at his son out of proud and respect, I kinda hoped this whole undead nightmare is happening in John's dream right as he dozes off after this scene.
honestly though undead nightmare was like a whole new game for red dead redemption. I played Undead more than the regular. Sooooo, imagine if they revamp the same dlc and slam it right onto the new red dead. Now that'll be a huge money grab especially with the new amount of people now already coming after waiting for so many years for red dead redemption 2 to come out.
Plainview stats: safe zone Also Plainview |Tent. | Zombie |Human| Human: Takes a nap in tent Zombie: This is a perfect time to eat a human, but the game doesn’t allow me because the status is safe
A shame Arthur wasn't created yet. Having him show up for the last scene would have been epic or just an epilog of him sitting on the mountain watching the sunrise.
“Probably just a fever” He says as he hogties them and locks them in a room because they’re attempting to consume any living creature that crosses their path.
You ever wondered how scary this would be In 1911? No one ever suspects zombies, or the living dead for that matter. seeing this happening to everyone without a clue must actually be quite terrifying
Yeah at first I thought that dlc was kinda weird for a western game But when I was thinking of that exact thing you said, I thought the concept was very interesting Since we don't currently have a DLC for rdr2, I sure hope R* will do something similar Heck, I hope they'll had Rdr1 to rdr2, one way or another
@@mariod4346 True, I just hope they'll change Red Dead Online a bit Make it more appealing And remove some of those rank requirements I just wanna fish
This was sick! I remember when this came out, it was such a pleasant surprise because no one even asked for it. It was like a 20 hour campaign, too... Of course, this was around the time of the zombie apocalypse craze of the late 2000s lol. Left 4 Dead 2, Killing Floor, COD Zombies... Good days :'). This is probably the last time Rockstar will ever put this much effort into a single player DLC too smh...
@@supremeturtle1186yes blame take two for everything as if rockstar can’t make their own decisions. Obviously take two can be pulling some strings but rockstar is just as greedy.
I love how john not focusing on what his son was talking about, shows us that John doesn’t know about zombies and monsters and all this, which made him not understand what the fuck was going on when his family was zombified and thought it was some sort of sickness at the beginning lmao.
question, is there was any zombie books in the beginning of the 1900s? Is the idea of "zombie" even existed back then? I think it was imagined only in second half of the century, or started to get popular at least, even in the game characters call them undead, not zombies.
I was, even if it is technically still there, just unfinished. They didn't run outta space, actually. It's just because you're always Wanted dead or alive there as Arthur, & in RDR1, John says he's never been to Mexico prior.
Can you imagine? By not developing an Undead Nightmare DLC for RDR2, R* is missing the chance to show the world an undead nightmare version of the bayou and the nightfolks. What a painfull thought.
Mathew Williams Nah the game is fine. You just weren’t able to play the story in a fun way. Yes it’s old, but Black Ops 2 is old and people still play it...
